“NO JOKE! The best empanada I've ever had!!!Its golden, flaky pastry shell was perfectly crisp. The filling itself was chock’full of seasoned meats, onions, and a hint of spice. Every bite was a burst of savory goodness, making it a memorable and must-try treat for anyone seeking an exceptional empanada.
Vegetarian options: Cheese all day! Plenty of options for vegetarians.
Kid-friendliness: Some of the nicest people in the world run this store. They are friendly and what kid DOESN’T like empanadas????!!!!!“

“Definitely they offer good and fresh food, the delivery time accurate, if they tell you 30 minutes it is. Humble people, that restaurant cares about its customers. I’m very picky about eating and this is my third time ordering from this Restaurant, and The Brasa from this location on New York Avenue exceeded my expectations. 👍🏼😋👏🏼“
“I moved to this neighborhood one and a half years ago. This food is the most delicious Dominican food anyone could eat. The service is excellent and the prices are extremely reasonable. I go here almost every day for sandwich, rice and beans, chicken stew. They have it all. Amazing.“

“Such a great neighbourhood place. Big portions, super friendly staff and great food at very low prices. We had the ceviche, chimichurri and bistec salteado. All very good. Only downside was that it was so good, I add too much XD
Vegetarian options: Plantain, rice and beans“

“Well I look Latina but I am a gringa, so I did my best to order my food and the lady was patient with me as i practiced my SPANGLISH with her. My Dominican mother-in-law took me here once and it was delicious. She paid for everything so not sure what it all cost . I
Decide to come back 6 months later because I was craving roasted pork and I recall their pork was really good . My memory served me correct because I was right, the pork is tasty! I was asking for the roasted pork (La pernil) but they didn’t have any this time. So I ask for the next best pork option. She recommended pork ribs . Wow! They were amazing . Just writing this review is making my mouth water. I went ahead made it a combo which included rice and beans for $10 . Fair price I guess, but she gave me a ton of rice and barely any beans. Next time I will ask for beans “only”, since I can make rice for less than a dollar at home . It just white rice, nothing special. I plan to use the left over rice for stir fry since I got so much. Anyways I would have added a picture to this review, but the ribs were so good i couldn’t stop eating them and I just forgot. Oh well .“

“The food is pretty good. I ordered the tres golpes. I asked for the eggs to be scrambled and they charged me extra, I thought that was greedy of them. I have a raw egg allergy, so I can’t eat eggs unless they are fully cooked. The mangu didn’t taste that fresh. Overall it wasn’t bad but wasn’t great.“

“I want to get the bad out of the way first. I do feel the prices are a bit on the expensive side by a few bucks, especially for a local restaurant. They charge NYC prices. They should also make sure the menu prices match what they charge. I was going to take a star away for the price but what I write next will explain why I didn't.The food here is absolutely delicious. I have come here for breakfast and dinner and I am never disappointed in the food. The people that work here also seem very nice. I've never had issues with the service. The ladies here seem like they are in a good mood and they are working hard. All their food is good but I want to put my focus on their beans. I am a bean loving Puerto Rican and if you are a Latino restaurant that sells beans...they better be good. Well, this place has great beans. I appreciate the flavor and consistency of the beans. There are places that give you watery or watered down beans and it is a practice that I look down on because these places don't respect the details of the beans. As for my favorite dish, I am a simple guy and I enjoy their breaded chicken with rice and beans. I will also say that their version of arroz moro is absolutely great. So yes it is a bit more expensive but the richness of the food and the portions that you get will certainly make it more palatable. For this reason, I did not take a star away.“

“I had a steak mofongo, my sister had pollo quisado con arroz con gandules, and my nephew had the picadillo w white rice and black beans and plátanos maduro. We also shared some bacalaitos and ensalada de escabeche. Authentic Puerto Rican flavors, which are hard to come by in this area now, we where happy campers.
Beautiful decor, and everything was lovely and clean. Kudos to new owner/ management (Edwin), who was super engaged with every single customer! I am looking forward to new menu expansions that he mentioned, such as breakfast and a slew of liber flavors, which he gave us a sample of coconut as complimentary. Will be back.“

“Generous portions and reasonable prices. The chicken stew and pork shoulder are great. Pair that with some beans and plantains for an excellent meal. Their empanadas are my favorite in the area. Perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside“
