“I like the place, it's definitely as advertised Dominican food. I had a steak and onion meal and it was fairly good. The cut had a little muscle which normally you don't get with that cut but it was fine. They only had two avocados and they were not ready so they didn't serve them which was nice but it would have been nice if they had it. The drink selection is somewhat Limited, and they do not have a liquor license.The server spoke English in Spanish was gentle on the eyes and attentive to our needs. Perfect service.The place at the time was somewhat empty for no good reason maybe it just looked that way because it's very large. The area is very clean and was comfortable to eat in. I like how many windows there are.

Parking: There are meters outside which depending on the time you may or may not have to pay.

“We ordered catering for a family gathering and everyone absolutely loved the food. We had pernil, baked chicken, Moro rice, potato salad and maduros. Everything was delicious and you can tell it was cooked with love. The process of ordering the food was also easy and Auri was kind, prompt and very helpful. Highly recommended!“

“Beef stew and Chivo were good. Beans are ok, not great. A serving of tostones is for 2 people it seems like. 4 stars 🌟 on that. I like the potato salad with eggs but they didn't have that today. Today they had macaroni salad with Tuna but I didn't taste any tuna 1 star 🌟 for the Mac salad. Service is good. It seems like a family run business. Overall I'll give them 4 stars because of they way they treat you like family. If your in passaic and hungry pass by and you won't be sorry.“

“Pico Y Pala is a great spot for authentic Dominican comfort food. I stopped by for lunch and ordered the roasted chicken with rice and beans, plus a side of tostones. Everything tasted fresh, the chicken was juicy, and the portions were more than generous. The staff was welcoming, service was quick, and the prices were very reasonable. It's the kind of neighborhood restaurant you'll want to visit again.“

“I ordered from two good to go, which is an app that gives you discounted meals for less at the end of the night. They gave me liver which I’m not a fan of liver, but I gave it to a friend. I got potato salad. That was delicious a soup with pork in it and vegetables, rice and beans and a vegetable dish with okra and plantains. I will try out their fried chicken soon everything was packaged very good and the place looks very clean. A+

“I went out of my way to go here after researching good food spots in Jersey city for after a visit to liberty science center. Glad we did. The guy behind the counter was funny, helpful and kind- he helped me choose what I wanted. I ended up with stewed chicken, rice and beans and a side of beans. There were no empanadas ( bc I went later in the day ). Honestly I ate this cold and it was bomb- I bet tomorrow when I finish it heated up, it will be even better. The beans were phenomenal perfectly seasoned, more liquidy than I usually enjoy, but it was ideal with the rice. Chicken and rice both were seasoned well.

It looked clean in the restaurant, it was being mopped as I walked in. There are a few tables to sit at, which also looked kept up with.

We got 2 lunches of white rice and stew chicken, 2 orders of beans and an order of sweet plantains. Total: $22! They serve SOOOO much food, we had left overs. My plate in the photo is after me eating quite a bit already. We then went back and got 2 tres leches, each were $3.50. Very yummy, I highly recommend this restaurant. In regards to customer service they were so sweet, professional and attentive. I wish this business lots of good fortune and will spread the word. They are amazing.“

“I visited Bachata y Merengue Restaurant and would rate it 3/5 stars.

The food was okay, but I think it could definitely be better. My boyfriend ordered the meatballs, and they were too salty. The spaghetti was bland and needed more flavor. I ordered the rice and chicken, which were decent, but I would give them a 6/10 overall.

The restaurant itself felt very quiet and empty. There wasn’t any music playing, which made the atmosphere feel less inviting. I also noticed there were no desserts available, and the refrigerator looked mostly empty with very few drink options.

The buffet is small and offers mostly basic dishes, so there isn’t a lot of variety to choose from.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but I think the food, atmosphere, and menu selection could all be improved.“
