“Absokutely loved this for a quick grab! The pork belly buns: 8.5/10The seasoning tasted almost like korean fried chicken or bulgogi seasoning? Very good but definitey messy to eat!Fish bucket: 9/10Pretty filling. Has veggies and rice, which really makes it a whole meal on its own!“
“I finally caught this place open on a Sunday at around 5pm after seeing a lady do a TikTok review of it. On Google it gives a 2 pm closing time on Sunday but I took a chance anyway. I ordered fried whiting and fried shrimp. It was so crispy and good and it reminded me of my grandmother's fried fish and shrimp. I will be returning for more“
“My sister and I were in NYC for our girls trip and decided to trek across the Brooklyn bridge and have dinner in Brooklyn. We came across this charming restaurant. Food was delicious and our server Scarlett was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She made great recommendations and she did not disappoint. Next time I’m in Brooklyn, I’ll definitely be eating here. The guacamole was amazing and the lobster roll was heavenly.“
“This is my second favor fish spot in Harlem. I have been coming here for years. Years years. It's a great spot to get while fresh fish you can take it home and prepare it yourself and u can have it steamed there. This time I came in the the fried snapper shrimp and fries. The fry station is also we're the steam station is located. The fish is pre breaded in individual bins Whiting snapper blue fish scallops shrimp. This is a what you see is what you get the service is cool those Latino men work hard for the money and still give u service with a smile. The fish is always. Cooked well. The fries or the crinkle cut and the condiments are out front so you can pick what you want and add them before they wrap it up.“
“One of my favorite Thai places in the neighborhood! Everything was made with love, including the papaya salad, green curry, and vegetables basil. My favorite dish of my visit was the pa kee mao with the tofu. The noodles were so chewy and the tofu was so flavorful! Plus the staff was thr nicest person I’ve ever met!“
“Went here 10 years ago and pleased to say that it's still just as good! Just more expensive now (I paid 16), but that's the current times. Maybe because I'm older , I appreciate fish even more now. I got a regular cod and chips. Fish was soft and flaky , crispy batter. That tartar sauce is crack ! Chips were crispy outside and fluffy inside. This is a great spot for your fish and chips craving. The establishment is a bit hot and toasty inside though. There are seats outside , or you can go to the nearby park to enjoy your meal.“
“I am excited to share my dining experience at The Thistle with you! The warmth and kindness of the hostess created a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere from the moment I arrived. It was refreshing to be greeted with such genuine hospitality, making dinner even more enjoyable. I immediately ordered exactly what I had been craving for. THE ORIGINAL THISTLE FISH & CHIPS! Satisfying my craving was precisely what I was aiming for. Perfection in a delightful crispy batter, paired with golden "chips" fries, tater sauce and coleslaw. [Don't be shy to ask for more tartar sauce.] It's a BYOB spot, so don't forget your favorite bottle of wine or beer, which goes great with fish! I'll be sure to bring a bottle the next time I go. Can't wait to go back.“
“Genos Fish is absolutely top-tier! I find myself dining here on a weekly basis, primarily because of the exceptional experience it offers. The staff consistently goes above and beyond in terms of customer service – they're incredibly friendly and provide the kind of hospitality that's synonymous with the warmth of the South.Whether I opt for takeout or delivery, one thing remains consistent: the freshness and quality of the food. It's a rare gem to have a restaurant that delivers such unwavering excellence. Genos Fish deserves a solid 10 out of 10 in my book!“
“Decided to finally check out this place during their breakfast service.I ordered a western omelet w/home fries to go, they had it ready nice and quick. Very friendly folks. The omelet was so good I'm still thinking about it an hour later. It was very reasonably priced. It was a great deal for the quality of the food. The cook did an excellent job. They mentioned they take orders over the phone. I'll probably be ordering so I can pick up on the way to the L in the morning.Hands down, this is a awesome spot to have in the neighborhood. Great job! Can't wait to try the rest.“
“Mostly crunchy coating on the calamari- it's not flaky like most other places, instead it's crumb-y (see pic for reference). Good flavor in the crust, and the squid pieces were cut from an actual whole squid, so you get fun little pointy pieces too. The squid itself was on the softer side, not as chewy as squid usually is. The marinara sauce was very disappointing, tasted watery (and just sorta bad). The portion size was a bit smaller than I would have liked. Ordered on ubereats ahead of time, but I don't think they started making it until I showed them I was there to pick up my order. I would recommend just showing up and ordering at the counter, you save on extra processing fees and you don't lose much on time. Inside has a few tables and chairs in front of the counter, enough to seat a little more than 10 people max I'd estimate. The owners/employees seem nice and efficient.“
“I was in the neighborhood and I wanted some fish & chips. I decided to try this place based on the positive feedback on Yelp. They didn't disappoint. If you're looking for your fish to be heavily seasoned, this isn't the place for you. The fish was tasty, lightly seasoned, not fried to hard, not greasy, not mealy and the portion was generous.“
“Food was great. The gentleman who served us was so caring and friendly. We had Calamari, Surf and Turf chicken, shrimp and fish. Yummy! We stayed at L Hotel and Ocean Eats was down the block. We took the food to go but you can sit and eat there. We will be back soon. Thanks Ocean Eats.“
“I have been coming to the seafood place for years ever since I was, and I think seventh grade. It hasn’t changed much. It’s very no-frills;basic; functional. However the seafood is top-notch for a hole in wall spot amazes me in New York City has a hole in the wall spots always seem to have the best food this place. The food is pretty good the customer services to the least functional straightforward and they get the job done well, my friend.“
“Snowdonia is so cool! It's become my local for great food and friendly staff. Others who are there are quite welcoming and I enjoy the atmosphere overall. They recently posted a $10 food and beer weekday happy hour menu which I'm excited about. Check it out you won't be “
“The best fried fish in town. Small husband and wife joint. Nothing fancy to witness but you can appreciate the food they serve it’s such a hidden gem and it’s my all time favorite spot. Took my friend here for lunch today for the first time and he said the best beans in this area hands down.“
“The food is great and at a very affordable price, the last time I came here it was great and not to mention super quick, the best chicken and the fries are amazing but the only negative part was that one time I went and because there is a nail polish shop next to it, it smells a little funny.Vegetarian options: SaladDietary restrictions: NoneParking: Kinda hard to findKid-friendliness: The people are very niceWheelchair accessibility: Ramps“
“Really fresh seafood fried crisp and moist. Shrimp and Flounder with a huge side of rice and fried plantains. Got serious full on $20. Very friendly service. One thing to know is that they do not have menus so you should ask how much your meal will cost after you pick your items.“
