“I work for a law firm in CA and we have an employee who works remotely in NY.. For our employee's birthday I wanted to choose a bakery close to her home and who was local. Stumbled upon Buttercup Bake Shop and they were so awesome! Totally worked with me and delivered the cupcakes with NO hassle. “This bakery is awesome! The inside is adorable and the baked goods are amazing. We had a blueberry rosemary cheesecake kouign aman and it was one of the best pastries I’ve ever eaten.

There’s a few seats in the shop which was nice to enjoy our treats. Surprisingly not super busy on a Saturday morning but I can’t imagine that will last long!“

“I almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep them a secret, but this cafe is such a gem in the Astoria neighborhood. Best baked goods and a great drink menu with seasonal options as well! I'm a huge pastry person and the owner bakes all of the yummy items you see in the display. The barista is also super nice and remembers all my random customizations for sweetness :)

They also have dog treats if you're picking up your order with a fur baby!

If you're a pastry person like me -- you must try the cinnamon roll, any of the bread puddings, the cookies and if you're into savory try the ham and cheese croissant.“

“Don’t be fooled by the smallness of the place. The breakfast sandwiches are some of the tastiest I’ve ever had. I was looking to order a cake for a birthday, and I was impressed by their photos on Instagram as well as the flavor of the slices they had for sale (one of which I received as a gift). “Honestly this was bussin, the yogurt has a bit of an odd flavor that grew on me the more I ate it. I am torn if I liked this or Culture more but the serving size was way bigger and the fruit was really fresh. I think this might be the best froyo in NYC.

“I keep going back to this bakery ever since I tried their prosciutto baguette - if you’re lucky to get your hands on one, you’ll likely eat it all in one sitting, so I always recommend getting 2. Their sourdough is also very affordable under $8 and they slice it for you.

You don’t survive a century in the Bronx without earning it, one pastry at a time.

The cappuccino was a little piece of heaven, the desserts were just a tad sinful, and the whole experience felt like a visit to the Holy Chapel of buttercream and chocolate.

If you find yourself anywhere near Arthur Ave., De Lillo is an essential pilgrimage.
