“I highly recommend the Royal Mile! My husband and I enjoyed a nice coffee date here yesterday. We enjoyed chatting with the worker Matt, who was very professional, welcoming, and helpful. The atmosphere is warm, relaxing, and clean but the coffee is even better. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the decaf options. The decaf pumpkin spice coffee I ordered was so good that I bought a bag of coffee. We can’t wait to go back.

The sandwiches are a bit on the pricier side but usually big enough that I split them into 2 meals. If you go on a weekend or holiday I suggest ordering ahead on their website, I was quoted 25-30 min when I ordered at the counter on a Sunday.“

“I could go on and on about this place. We had our daughter's bridal shower at Troubled Brewing. Megan was so helping in planning this event for us. She was so responsive and detailed oriented. She made the event so enjoyable and low stress. The staff that helped with the event were all so kind and friendly. The place has such a warm and relaxed feeling. “Great coffee, but don’t count too much on the wifi. At multiple locations I’ve experienced not being able to connect on arrival, and well meaning staff resetting the router which disrupts everyone who is connected. Of course if you’re just chillaxing this is not a big deal.“

“We visited Rival Bros to meet with a local professional. I hate to be critical, but I was underwhelmed. The employees basically ignored customers, even when we stepped up to the counter, as they were busy having a conversation amongst themselves. My drink was incredibly bitter and I had to add sugar to make it palatable. (I don't tend to order super sweet drinks, and I drink unsweetened coffee all the time. The iced mocha tasted like straight unsweetened cocoa powder, though, which is pretty unpleasant.) The indoor seating was all taken, so we sat outside in Passyunk Square. Clearly, they get a lot of business in their location, and I can see why, based on location.

My husband and I love small, local coffee shops. He worked for a micro roaster when we were newlyweds, and we helped some friends open their coffeehouse many years ago. We enjoy supporting these businesses and watching them succeed. I'm not sure if we just had a one-off experience, but it's not someplace I'd run back to, unfortunately. They have an amazing location and beautiful storefront, but the drinks and service were subpar. I'll probably give them a second chance at some point, though, to see if my experience was a fluke.“

“I enjoy this breakfast spot, I haven’t had a bad experience here and the food is good. I would recommend something sweet rather than something savoury as they have better sweet stuff. I really like the cinnamon rolls, the coconut vanilla coffee. They also have some great French press coffee that I strongly recommend.“
