“I’ve gone in twice for birthday cakes. I’m horribly last-minute, but luckily they always have already-made birthday cakes for sale which are DELICIOUS. They’re super flavorful without being too much, and they’re beautiful to look at. Plus they can write a message on the cake very quickly. I’m a fan!“

“This place gives me nostalgia. There’s something about it that reminds me of being in Burlington Vermont coupled with the laidback apathetic individuality of living through 90s grunge era and listening to Elliott Smith and Neutral Milk Hotel. The interior aesthetic isn’t try hard (they showcase local art on the walls and theres a less-is-more vibe), but theres still a cozy sip-slow-and-linger feel. What sets it apart from other places for me is the muted warmth from the people who work there. The kind where you know if you become a regular you’ll get a half smile and they might remember your name, really adds to the overall charm. And even if this place had none of that going for it, the breakfast sandwiches alone are worth a 30-minute walk. Not only are they only like 6 bucks, but they are delicious. The eggs are incredibly well-seasoned, fluffy, and scrumptious. They also have unique lattes, like Cinnamon Toast Crunch (it actually tastes like it) and their matchas are spot on.Even though there’s at least a dozen coffee shops much closer to us, this is our go-to.“

“There were no tables available when we got there in the afternoon so we ordered takeout. We split a Philly cheesesteak and a kale salad. Both were delicious but would have liked more cheese on the cheesesteak. I can't wait to try the breakfast there and actually sit down at a table, as the atmosphere is so cozy and sweet.“

“This place is an absolute gem. This bistro is family operated and we felt like family being there. Their daughter Holly even made a point to come over and introduce herself to our baby daughter. It was so hard to make a decision on what we wanted to eat due to everything sounding so wonderful. We went with “the rooster” and “the hot and honey” and with the baked brie. These were all a hit! Will be recommending Wood and Thyme to all family and friends.“

“I came here for the first time after an otherwise hectic morning and had such a delightful experience. The coffee and quinoa bowl were delicious and I am obsessed with their HUSKEE drinkware, which is made from recycled coffee husks. Everything about this cafe—from the general vibe to the customer service to the art—makes me want to return, and I look forward to my next visit :).“

“We checked out the Ground Up Cafe & Coffee shop last week in South Philly. This a great little coffee shop on East Passyunk. The decor was simple and fun with just a hint of an European vibe. Bistro seating was available inside and outside. It was very comfortable overall. The menu offered many choices from prepared sandwiches to baked goods. I wasn’t planning on eating, but then I saw scones - I had to try one. Cranberry - and it was delicious! The coffee was also very good (definitely made note of that for the next time I am in the neighborhood). The barista was also very pleasant. This is a great café to try while out and about shopping on East Passyunk. I’ll be back!#trustkj“

“really cute bubble tea/coffee establishment! i have always heard of this place but never got to check it out until recently and it's becoming one of my favorite shops. i tried the white coffee with coffee jelly and it's amazing. it definitely has a strong coffee flavor (i think vietnamese coffee), so if you're in need of a caffeine boost, i recommend coming here. i originally wanted to try the egg coffee, but they told me they didn't have it. i tried checking their online ordering system for a couple days and it seems like they haven't had it in a while. i've been enjoying egg coffee a lot recently from other places and i was a bit disappointed that they didn't have it, but i hope it comes back soon! the atmosphere is also very chill if you want to do some work or hang out with friends. overall, i recommend it and would come back soon.“

“My cousin was visiting from San Francisco and she wanted to check out a local cafe. I found this one on google and took her there. We were very impressed with the drinks. They are delicious! We also ordered a snack and also very good. One person was working that day and she seems to know everybody. Definitely a local gem. I will visit again.“

“Excellent place to eat and drink (coffee, lattes, etc.). Ordered a SEC with 3 eggs ($8) as well as a 16 oz sugar free latte ($4.75). Both tasted great! Park in the tiny lot behind the building on Delaware Street or in front of the building (side entrance and exit) on S. Broad.“

“This place is an absolutely GEM!We're a local business, and let me tell you, High Grounds is our go-to spot. Their staff is just the friendliest, kindest, and most accommodating people you'll meet. And Maria, the GM, is awesome! You can tell they take pride in their work because everything they do is top-notch. I'm a simple person, and their drip coffee is always perfect, especially the Middle Earth blend. But their lattes (try it shaken!), cold brew, and London Fog are also amazing! Their ever-expanding menu of bakery items and prepared goods is delicious. I tried their Caprese Panini last week, and it was just divine! The only problem is that it's so close that I never want to make breakfast or lunch anymore. However, it won't break the bank, and it's incredibly reasonable for a casual dining place. The atmosphere is cool, and you can just hang out there, but some areas are private enough to have conversations with friends or get work done. It's no wonder that this place is so popular -- Congrats on all your success!“

“The food is good. The service is excellent. They offered my foster dog a pup cup the moment they saw him come in. The ladies at the counter were very sweet. It's a cafe where you order at the counter and pick up your food before grabbing a table of your choice. The atmosphere is pretty quiet, with some music playing in the background. Very relaxing.PS. They are currently running a toy drive, so feel free to pop by and donate a toy for the less privileged.“

“At here twice while staying at a local airbnb. The atmosphere is perfect. Quiet enough to work yet upbeat enough you wouldn't fall asleep. The cafe is very clean! All the furniture and fixtures give an industrial modern century vibe. Ok now let's get into the food! Both days I had a caramel latte hot. First day with no whipped cream second day with. I prefer it without the whip. We had the banana bread French toast! Absolutely amazing! The crisp on it was to die for, very dense but not dry and not too sweet. Fried green tomatoes were perfectly seasoned. You don't even need the sauce but if you are eating it you will be pleasantly surprised. It definitely taste homemade. Hash was okay, the proportion of potatoes is a bit much for me. My husband loved his shrimp omelette, I tried it and enjoyed it as well the flavors were subtle and fresh.“

“So the star of this place is there cookies in my opinion. I got a coconut cookie with an almond joy baked in the middle. What is refreshing about it is it wasn't a chocolate chip cookie base. This is probably one of my favorite cookies I have gotten in the area. I did try a cupcake with lemon curd. The butterCream and lemon curd was great but I wasn't a fan, it was really dry I'm not gonna lie. I wish in the cupcakes they would have had filling in it to. That's why I gave it 4 stars. But I've seen all the reviews now & ill definitely back and try different Cupcakes. ill Definitely buying a bunch of cookies ❤️ P.S they are all really nice in theirKid-friendliness: It has a kid friendly atmosphere with chairs and a whole set up for them in the corner.“

“I don't think the excellence of RIM cafe can be overstated. From the day I moved into South Philadelphia I have loved going there. I first went to RIM Cafe on my friend's birthday after dinner thinking that it was just another neighborhood cafe. Rene showed me and my friends an unforgettable good time to celebrate that we still talk about years later. We learned later that the exceptional good times at RIM Cafe are business as usual. Creativity is at the core of this place. This is not your average hipster laptop coffee shop. It is an experience of chocolate and coffee infused with authentic European heritage, superior creativity, and the passion of a true connoisseur. Perfect for a date if you want to make a good impression, a special occasion, or a fun time with your friends. If you visited South Philly and haven't gone to RIM Cafe then you really haven't visited South Philly. Make it happen!“

“This is a great OG vegan spot in Philly & love coming here. Tons of coffee selections and specials! They have a cold case with a large choice of vegan desserts! They have sitting in the back of the house--some seats and a large book shelf. We love that you can pre order before arriving & it’s ready when you get there. Their breakfast sandwiches are out of this world. This is a hip little vegan cafe. Worth a visit. They have a yummy list to choose from!“

“DOTF has a very unique atmosphere and interesting flavors of beer to go with it. That said, it is a coffee house first and a brewery second. Service can get very slow so don’t expect to be getting slung beers down the bar every time your glass is empty. But go on non-peak hours and non-event days, you should be fine.“

“My partner and I bought a house on the 1800 block of S Hicks Street in 2022, and a major factor in that decision was being around the corner from a *union* coffee shop that has become a neighborhood institution. Since moving in, we’ve patronized the shop almost daily, so the boycott has been particularly disruptive to our routine. Here’s hoping that the Ultimos decide to bargain in good faith with their employees.Solidarity forever.“

“What a Gem!!! Everything was fantastic. But really sets the cafe apart from ALL others is the Barista. A true ambassador of the Nona and Pops but also of Termini. I wish I had asked her name. She is the epitome of customer service and quite evident she loves her job and her employer. Give her a big raise, elevate her within the company to customer service trainer for all of your new employees.“

“Shot Tower is by far my favorite coffee shop in south Phila. Their prices are unbeatable, coffee is delicious, and staff are all so nice. It's also spacious, with plenty of seats to stay and enjoy your coffee or do some work (there's free wi-fi). Highly recommend! If you're in the mood for more food than a bagel or delicious pastries, the neighborhood has plenty of options (two faves are Taco Heart & The Bagel Place).“

“We had a lovely time here it's such a cute spot and smells delicious! Very quaint in a small lovely neighborhood. We did a Groupon for a tasting flight and charcuterie board! 2 front staff girls were awesome and so friendly even with a hiccup of an older couple who sat and ordered then left because they were carded this couple were also very rude and wrote a nasty review when the ladies were literally just doing their job! Even with that they still managed to put on a persona for the rest of customers. I salute you girls because the world nowadays, especially with older entitled people is just so disappointing. Needless to say my beastie and I had a such a great time!!! The place is chic, roomy, comfy, there's a whole upstairs as well. We will DEFINITELY be back!!“

“Paris Baguette isn't just a bakery; it's a flavor carnival that turned my taste buds into thrill-seekers! My partner and I made a day of it and really ally indulged this time !The mini fluffy cheesecakes are like edible clouds - I half expected to find a unicorn grazing on one. The macarons are like bites of pure mischief in your mouth ( and pretty affordable !) ; they were so good, I suspect they have a secret alliance with happiness... in my belly that is . Now, the seafood croquettes were the star of the day true savory treats, bursting with flavors that should come with a warning label for " too good to be eaten " But wait, the mozzarella's Capri baguette is the real MVP. It's not just bread; it's a bread superstar, perfect for the picnic we had even the ducks got to indulge on this amazing culinary treat . The only thing missing is a red carpet for this baguette sensation. Now let's talk service - it's so top-notch, I half-expected a red carpet entrance for us. We left the bakery feeling like we just had a culinary adventure, and didn't even need a passport to get in ! If you haven't visited Paris Baguette yet, you must ! Go Go Go !!!“
“I come here all of the time! It struck me today that I owe this wonderful place a review.Initially, I came here because the hours fit my schedule. Then, it turned out the tea at Revolution was incredible (shout out to tea drinkers in a coffee world)!Ultimately, Revolution became my tea away from tea because of the baristas( special shoutout to Liz and Aiden, but everyone is amazing) They memorize the orders of regulars, are professional and courteous. It struck me today about their innate kindness. I normally rock my order, small talk, and go. Today I came in with my son, who’s two and a vibe. His hot chocolate was made with so much care and attention to detail it took the gloom out of the world’s rainiest day. The barista, Aiden, didn’t need to show this level of kindness, but did it anyway. An actual angel move.Anyway, come for the hours, enjoy the tea, stay for the lovely people who make Revolution spectacular.“

“I love Essen Bakery! They used to just serve out of a small window, but they recently opened a small indoor dining space with a counter with seating and a small cafe table, so you walk inside to order now. The baked goods are always fresh. My favorites are the homemade pop tarts, black and white cookies, bagel and lox, and caramelized onion focaccia. Try to get there earlier in the day, as they generally run out of most things in the afternoon. I would also recommend ordering online in advance if you know you can't make it there in the morning.“

The service is always friendly and efficient. The food is always delicious. My most recent visit we ordered two brunch items, an iced tea, and a kale to the king juice, and our total was under $40. You can rarely get fresh and delicious meals for 2 under $40, and I love that Turning Point never disappoints, while still offering an array of options for everyone!Vegetarians and health-conscious options are actually delicious, and when you want to indulge in something sweet or savory, there are options for that too.Great job all around and much appreciated having you here!“

“Born and raised in New York, I've eaten my share of bagels over the years. These are the best bagels I've had, and my brunch guests agreed. We did a takeout order for a combo of plain, egg and everything bagels plus their plain cream cheese spread. The flavor and texture of the bagels were perfect. The bagels had a light crispness with hints of sweetness vs sourness. There was none of the chewiness and dryness you expect with bagels. Our order was filled right away, and the price was very reasonable. Their cafe space is cozy, especially the back room, if you choose to eat in. When my shiba and I walk by here in the early morning hours, we see the staff already hard at work. We will be back to try their sandwiches.“
