“An old favorite but was disappointed this time...One of things we love about this place is the ever-changing menu and the interesting combination of ingredients and flavors. We started with the endive salad which was outstanding but it went downhill from there. The brioche was too crunchy and oily (but the escargots and tomatoes topping was very good); the enoki mushrooms were a little overpowered by the other flavors; the oyster mushrooms were quite charred; and the fish was overcooked. Drink-wise, also did not think much of the "void essence" cocktail - was a little bland for me. Service as always as excellent.”

“My favorite place for breakfast AND lunch! Taco Heart has consistently delicious breakfast tacos and the best queso in town. This summer on my bestie’s wedding day we called them about 30 minutes before close and ordered A LOT of chorizo tacos for the bride and they happily obliged and added special treats - a kindness and a memory i carry with me!

You certainly got your money worth there. However, the meat were a bit tough and chewy. We didn’t like the meatballs as the texture was soft and didn’t taste meaty.”

A participant asked about cacio e pepe, which was not on the agenda, and Olivia quickly prepared the basic but difficult to nail sauce. It was spot on. Would def recommend HBB to friends and family. One suggestion though - supplying guests with aprons would be helpful!”

“Restaurant Review: Hidden Gem in Philadelphia

We decided to try this restaurant in Philadelphia after seeing its great Google reviews, and it didn’t disappoint!

When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet, with just one other couple dining. The ambiance was simple, though the seating arrangement felt a bit tight, and the table was smaller than a standard four-person dining table. However, the experience more than made up for it.

Our waitress, Harwinder, a nursing student, greeted us with a warm smile and exceptional hospitality. She took the time to explain the menu and even served us complimentary onion bhajji, which was a delightful start to our meal.

I opted for the Lamb Karahi and Garlic Naan—my first time trying Lamb Karahi, and it was absolutely phenomenal! The spices were perfectly balanced, and the lamb was incredibly tender and flavorful. My son chose Paneer Makhani and Bullet Naan. While the Paneer Makhani wasn’t as creamy as we’re used to, it was still delicious. The Bullet Naan, however, turned out to be much spicier than expected—truly living up to its name! My son couldn’t handle the heat, so we switched dishes and ordered a Rosemary Naan to cool things down. The Rosemary Naan was a standout—fragrant and perfectly baked.

To finish, we treated ourselves to Malai Kulfi, which was the perfect sweet ending to an already amazing meal. We also appreciated how affordable everything was—the pricing felt very reasonable for the quality of food and service.

Overall, this place is a hidden gem with incredible food, excellent service, and great value. I highly recommend it and will definitely return!

This was my first visit to Miss Rachel’s Pantry, and it was outstanding from start (delectable biscuits) to finish (pineapple upside down cake with coconut ice cream). While I regularly enjoy vegetarian cuisine, I’m an omnivore and haven’t had much experience with vegan food. Let me just say that all the reviews are correct! John and Nick took great care of us from the time we walked in til the time we left. The cheesesteaks were incredible, the bun was nice and soft, and the fries crispy. Trust and believe every time we’re in the area, we’ll be stopping here to get our fix! From the first course I knew this was going to be one of, if not the best, dining experiences thus far in my lifetime.
