On my last trip there, he didn't hold back, he came up with a stellar old fashioned and served me the best margarita I'd ever had! If Wayne ever asks if you trust him, do it, he will not disappoint! He got a feel for what flavors I like and served me the most phenomenal marg in a big skull glass, the pineapple was so ripe and juicy and the drink itself had the perfect spicy/sweet ratio!! All the bartenders were friendly and served everyone well, we all had a great time! I also love that you can get to-go cups and boxes to enjoy cocktails and food in your room!“

“Amazing experience. This place is enormous and delicious. The food was spectacular and the service was spot on. We had fresh oysters, mussels, salad, ravioli, and a wonderful crab stack made with avocado, mango salsa and lump crab meat. Dessert we shared a creme brulee and a double espresso. The the food was GREAT (crab bites?, chips, fries?, fried cod fish??, garlic parm chicken, and a cheeseburger) I really WISH THEY HAD BIGGER CRAB BITES and/or CRAB CAKES!!!! “It's been years since I've been here, but between Jay's making lists for top dives in NJ and top beer lists in the country I have been meaning to get back. Prior to going I looked up their beer list on Untappd and was overwhelmed by the beer selection. Unfortunately (but fortunately because it made my beer selection decisions much easier) many of the craft beers listed were sold in cans. The beers on the numbered list on Untappd are the beers available on tap (all other beers listed are in cans or bottles). They still had a nice variety of craft beers on tap and I really enjoyed the few I tried. They seemed a bit pricey though and even the lower ABV beers were served in smaller glasses. We got two seats at the bar around 6:30 on a Friday night. All night people were coming and going and there was nobody really standing around waiting for bar seats for too long. The bartender was nice and he was the only one working when we first arrived but after a bit there were multiple people behind the bar. It definitely felt divey inside. My dad said the bar top was the same bar top from years and years ago when he used to come here when he was my age. We split wings with medium Buffalo sauce and cheesesteak fries. I frequently see Jay's wings mentioned on SJFS and for good reason. They were top notch and I'd come back just for the wings. They might even be at the very top of my wing list (although I'd try a different sauce next time). Incredibly crispy and weren't chewy whatsoever. The cheesesteak fries (cheesesteak served over a bed of waffle fries were also surprisingly good. While at Top Golf earlier in the week our bay host recommended them and advised all the food at Jay's is very good. I wasn't expecting to spend $100+ at a dive bar between two of us but the experience was very good. If I lived a little closer I would definitely be there all the time. Even though the beer list is good I'd probably stick with drinking a domestic draft or bottle the next time I go to avoid spending as much as we did on smaller glasses of craft beer. I will definitely be back and will be looking forward to trying more menu items in the future.“
“My boyfriend and I split the Loaded Pork sandwich and The Dave (BBQ Pulled pork with Crisp Bacon and a smashed Mac & Cheese ball!). Both had tender meat and came out hot.The Dave: A TON of meat on this sandwich. Just the right amount of BBQ sauce on the meat. Served on a round roll. The Crisp Bacon added a nice crunch. Make sure you are hungry, and ask for extra napkins!Loaded Pork Sandwich: The roasted pork was seasoned nicely, complimented by Roasted Red Peppers, sauteed Spinach and a generous amount of Provolone Cheese. The pork had a nice flavor and was juicy. Served on a long roll, which was very fresh.I also ordered the Brussels Sprouts, which were some of the best I have tried. Roasted in garlic and butter, with parmesan. Some nice crisp pieces as well. A decent serving size - enough for two people to share. I would order these again!!For a treat we ordered the Bread Pudding Bites. These were phenomenal. Enough for 2-3 people to share (maybe even 4 if you each just want a few to taste). Cubes of Bread Pudding that are Deep Fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar - very tasty! Dense like bread pudding should be, but with a funnel cake vibe. They were fantastic as they are served (The bread pudding is flavored well and perfectly moist), but next time, I want to order these with a scoop of Ice Cream which would take the dessert to the next level.Overall Experience:Service was on point (never had to ask for my water to be refilled), and the food came out Quickly. There is a nice Variety to choose from - something on the menu for everyone! Clean restaurant with a Modern Vibe. Great spot for a work lunch or sit-down dinner with family. Lots of Local Beer on tap with plenty of space to sit at the bar as well if you are into the drinking scene. Filling meal and a great value for the amount of food you get. “I pass this place all the time and then heard very good things about it so I decided to stop. Small inside but the waitress/ bartender was very friendly and pleasant. I sat at the bar and was waited on immediately. During my visit the place continued to fill up. Many were regulars. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was an enormous cutlet and the best I ever had. I wound up eating just a little and took the rest home and got 2 more meals out of it. Highly recommended“
