“I just joined Five Iron Fishtown and I love it. The location is great and I love the vibes of the inside. The hours are perfect as I generally go to use the simulators before work in the morning and work on my swing or play a round. I’ve also had a few lessons with Senior Golf Pro Matt Davis and I can already tell my swing has gotten better. With the technology they have and following Matt’s direction I feel like I’ll be performing a lot better once I get on an actual course. Highly recommend.“

“Nice little spot, with nice energy. It can be a little tight inside, but given the shape of the building, it's to be expected. Though some people say the portions are small, I felt they were adequate and not dissimilar to say Bastia. I'm not a huge oyster person, but the recommendations were very good, especially paired with the zhug. Everyone we interacted with was lovely, but we were especially appreciative of Jordan, who gave us the majority of our recommendations.
We ate:
- psychedelicate
- stony shore
- bad boys
- broccolini caesar
- yellowtail pastrami
- crispy butterflied trout
- baby back ribs“

“I’ve been here 3x now and can’t say enough good things. The service is always great, even when it’s packed it’s easy to get drinks. The food is EXCELLENT. The vegetarian options are abundant and SO GOOD. Probably my favorite place that’s come to this neighborhood in ages. The prices are good too!“

“Under rated. Selfishly kinda hope stays that way, so can continue to enjoy a chill bar where can actually have a conversation without yelling over uninspiring music like half the places in the area, but want them to do well - so tell your peeps...the ones you actually like“

“This is our new favorite spot to grab a cocktail. They have a wonderful selection of craft cocktails, mead, beer, and wine. Bartenders are very friendly and always happy to recommend a good selection if you aren’t sure. The atmosphere has a great vibe and I always love the music selections on their playlists. Jenkintown has a few nice BYOB restaurants so this is a great place to stop for drink beforehand or nightcap afterwards. It really rounds out the evening!“

“Cocktails are so delicious and original I recommend the Dubai Chocolate Martini. The vibes are pretty nice and chill. People laughing and enjoying their time there. I will be back with some friends and family. Make sure when you go in you look to your left that’s where the entrance is do not go up the stairs unless you’re there for a private event lol.“
“My wife and I recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary with dinner at Caletta. Everything was A1 and top notch, especially the food (including bevs), hospitality, and service. Cozette (our server who's name I may have spelled wrong) and Jimmy (at the bar) were great. We will definitely be back!“

“I visited Port Richmond Pub in Philadelphia and thought it was a classic neighborhood bar with a welcoming, friendly vibe. Locals and newcomers alike stop in for cold beers, cocktails, and a relaxed atmosphere that feels like a real hometown spot.
The drink selection is solid, with a mix of domestic and craft beers plus spirits that pair well with tasty pub food — people especially like the cheesesteaks and cutlets when they’re there. The staff are known for being friendly and attentive, which makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the place for a few hours.
Port Richmond Pub also hosts fun events like bingo nights, which adds a lively, community feel to the experience. It’s the kind of bar where you can grab a drink, eat well, and chat with locals — great for a casual night out.“
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pudge’s Pub Review I had an amazing experience at Pudge’s Pub — so good that I went for both lunch and dinner! The food was absolutely incredible. The hoagie at lunch was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. For dinner, I tried the shrimp fra Diavolo, and I’m extremely particular about that dish… but this was a 10 out of 10. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and truly impressive. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be back!“

“Whether there’s an event or you’re there to grab drinks. This space is aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. They also have games you can play and typically there’s live music or a DJ. Typically there’s a diverse crowd. This is one of my favorite spots .“

“I love this place. The cocktails are always consistently solid and served by attentive and engaging bartenders. Dad's Hat, of course, specializes in Pennsylvania Rye, but this tasting room offers so much more. In addition to their wide array of different ryes, they have a meticulously curated assortment of spirits and beers to craft a wide assortment of well crafted cocktails. Truly a great experience!“

“This is truly the best kept secret. This place rocks, darts, pool table, great atmosphere, and the porch is awesome. specially during a storm!! At 1st it looks like a house, but when you enter, it's a great place for happy hour and like a "CHEERS." Bartenders are awesome and the food is actually simple and decent. I love how you can go off the menu items and order what you want. If they have it, it can be done!“

“The Bridesburg Pub for years is a fun place to go. There is always people that you know in there. This particular late day into night visit was awesome with our bartender, Tony, who we were all meeting for the first time. He was very friendly, attentive to our drinks, just a great guy!. My girlfriend and I were on a Chambord kick and I was impressed that they had that liqueur and Tony was no stranger in making my Chambord Sours and Debbie’s French Martini’s.
Parking: We found spots right by the Bridesburg Pub. It was Labor Day Weekend also.“

“Great little dive bar ..great open mic on Wednesday and three live acts on Thursday with a happy hour on Friday which also has live music .. I am a musician and played there Thursday and had the pleasure of meeting the owner ..What a great dude!! Music is such a huge part of the Philly dive bar scene and it seems to be dying but thank god for places like JRs that car about tradition and costumer service ..I mean this guy really loves his patrons he knew them all by name the bartender is the sweetest girl you’d ever want to meet so nice and a great bartender ..this place is the epitome of a great dive bar with great music and atmosphere..I guess ya gotta be doin something right to be in buisness for over 40 years … thoroughly enjoy myself every time I’m in there weather I’m playing or just there supporting another musician.Gary runs the music a great musician in his own right and is always looking to give a fellow musician a shot at JRs if your a musician and looking for a gig or a good open mic that is a great place to start or if you just wanna get a drink and feel like you are where you belong then this is your stop for sure“

“I love this bar. It was my go to for years and I visit every time I come home to Philly. I was a bartender here for several years when it was Dakotah's and loved working here. Sadly my friend had her purse stolen from here on Friday night. Pretty disappointing. Keep your eyes on your belongings when hanging here late night.“

“I am amazed to have discovered this incredible pub right in my neighborhood, where I've lived for over 20 years. Surprisingly, I had no idea it was here, despite the fact that it has been around for more than 12 years. While passing by, I always knew it was some sort of bar, but in the last three years, it has undergone a significant renovation and has been transformed into an exceptionally nice pub and restaurant with expanded outdoor seating and a spacious outdoor hall. The photos and videos truly capture the atmosphere.
On Christmas Eve, my son and I decided to visit the pub in the early afternoon to grab a bite to eat. Many places were closed, and I had always wanted to visit since seeing the renovations. The Christmas spirit was alive as people were enjoying themselves, despite it being Christmas Eve and not overly crowded. Our server, Faith, who warmly greeted us and seated us, was absolutely delightful. She had a great personality and was extremely helpful with the menu, especially since I am vegan. Faith offered some wonderful suggestions. I ended up ordering a veggie pizza with a fantastic crust, homemade tomato sauce, sautéed spinach, broccoli, onions, garlic, herbs, and spices.
As someone who has been a professional chef for over 10 years and has been in the food industry for almost 35 years, I usually have certain expectations when it comes to pub or bar food. However, this exceeded my expectations. My son ordered poutine fries with tender short rib meat, mozzarella cheese, and gravy on crinkle cut fries, and he loved it. I opted for old bay fries which were spot on. The condiment tray was a nice touch, with salt, pepper, oregano, and garlic right on the table.
The atmosphere of the pub is delightful, tastefully decorated, comfortable, and the people are friendly. Despite my busy schedule, which involves visiting around 10 restaurants a week, I look forward to returning to this place. It is right around the corner, making it very convenient for me. The pub is on its way to greatness, and I believe further detailing the menu with descriptions, ingredients, and cooking techniques would make it even better. The transformation of good places into great places often lies in such attention to detail.
In terms of the neighborhood, I have lived in the Harrowgate section of Philadelphia for over 20 years. When I first moved here, it was a challenging neighborhood plagued by poverty, crime, and drug addiction. However, the street I live on and the neighborhood itself are home to wonderful people. The community is diverse, with a large Latino population, African-American, Irish, Polish American, and European American residents. Prior to living here, I resided in Fishtown, which had similar circumstances but has flourished in the last 15 years with new development and businesses. This same revitalization is now occurring in my current neighborhood.“
“Visited this place yesterday for the first time with a friend and the service was great Angie was very welcoming and attentive the drinks were great and so was the vibe I will definitely be coming back. I absolutely loved it here , thank you Angie for your service“

“We weren't fans of the Chicken Pot Pie bread bowl. It was ok. It tasted like it came out of a soup can and dumped in the bread bowl, not fresh made.
The crab dip appetizer was ok, but it was too salty. The accompanying garlic bread was good.
The pork roll and cheese sandwich was very good. There was plenty of meat and the right amount of cheese. We're not fans of the brioche bread, but it was ok. We had asked, when we ordered, if we could get it on a kaiser roll, but I guess they didn't have that option.
The tots were good.
My wife really liked the Egg Nog Martini; it had plenty of alcohol.“

“McKinley Tavern is one of those spots that just gets it right every single time. From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with that unmistakable Philly sports vibe, TVs buzzing, fans locked in, and that perfect mix of energy and comfort that makes you want to stay for hours. But what really sets this place apart is the people. Chy and Kelsey are absolute standouts, those warm, genuine smiles make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. They’ve got that rare ability to keep things fun while staying on top of everything, and it elevates the whole experience. And let’s talk about the drinks, these are not your average pours. We’re talking hard-hitting, expertly made hood cocktails that don’t mess around. Whether you’re celebrating a win or shaking off a tough loss, McKinley Tavern delivers exactly what you need.Great vibes, even better service, and drinks that come with a punch!“
“I'd say I've been coming here for just over 20 years now. I enjoy the people and the atmosphere here. It is a beer and shot bar, the bartenders are friendly and attentive, the food especially the homemade soups are great. You can always meet up with friends or make new ones and have a good time, nice shuffle board, shuffle bowl, and slot chance games here great selection of music on the jukebox. Drinks are affordable and the place has been here over 50 years.“
