“Everything was divinely delicious! I highly recommend both the crab and spinach with goat cheese appetizers! The seasoning on the entress was amazing, you can taste every spice! Truly delicious is an understatement! As for dessert, I can't recall what the exact name is but it's a lentil based pudding and omg, pure heaven! The service, the atmosphere, the people, the place, the music, the cleanliness.....I absolutely loved it all! I adore this place! Can't wait to go back, every blessing for the new year guys! This place is top notch, and as a Greek who grew up in the restaurants (and is def a food snob) that's a huge compliment! I wouldn't just say that about any place, you guys sincerely deserve it! Whether we get take out or dine in, the staff is extremely friendly, the food is fresh and flavorful, the music is calming jazz and the booths are so comfortable. We have many favorite dishes @ we especially love the thickness & taste of the raita. We highly recommend this restaurant, and we also enjoyed it 25 years ago when it was Begum Palace. We ordered Non Veg grill, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Keema, Butter Chicken, Paneer Tikka Masala and Chole and Taka Dal. All of the items had balanced flavors, and heat levels were perfect. So many indian restaurants just make food spicy and leave it at that. Not this place. Every dish was unique in flavor even though we ordered the standard go to indian dishes.Serving sizes were ample and more than plenty for our 9 person table to share with one another. Only part I did not did not like the manager or the cashier was trying to sell too much to us we end up wasting the food … I guess he want to make his sale by seeing a large group

“Came here for the first time- we’re Vegans, and sometimes it’s difficult to find an Indian restaurant that has many vegan options. The staff went out of their way to help us find the vegan options on the menu, and when they were out of some ingredients to make certain dishes (it’s Diwali, and so it’s a busy time of year) that featured mushrooms and tofu, they actually custom created a dish so that we could try more of what they have to offer. A great experience, and will definitely be coming back!

“I had my son's first birthday at Rishtta and Madhi and his staff made it a truly memorable and oustanding event!

Working with Mr. Madhi at Rishtta was a pleasure. I planned a morning pooja followed by a lunch birthday party and he not only opened up the hall at 6 am and provided outstanding and dedicated staff to help assist in the food and decor set up and maintenance but also supported my other vendors so well. He was there the whole time to help with setup but also delegated some of the assistance to his staff, who were all very dedicated, helpful, and kind!

Rishtta provided all the drinks, which included delicious spiced chaas, masala chai, and mango lassi. All food and drinks were refilled throughout the 6-hour event and no guest went without these delicious refreshments. Rishtta also provided a live chaat station, which I highly highly recommend for your next event. It included fresh pani puris, aloo tikki chaat, and samosa chaat. Nothing was too spicy and my guests loved it! His servers helped cut my tiered cake and served it so perfectly.

“Okay, we've been coming to this truck since 2008 or so, when my son was a student at NJIT.I'm going to say that the best food here are the platters, especially the chicken platter; unfortunately my son insisted on the Samosa Tikki Sandwich. It was good, but the platters, with extra white sauce, and a sprinkle of red pepper, is worth the visit. Enjoyed the sandwich. The picture is only a fourth of the sandwich.“

“Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Food is excellent. Reminds me of Bangladesh town in the Bronx. Vegetable samosa (singhara) needs some salt. Chicken patty (puff) needs more filling (hardly 2 small pieces of chicken in them. Chicken biryani was delicious. Tandoori chicken was good as well. None of them were served with condiments (sad). The best of all is the Chai, it was spot on.

Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Upon arrival the cashier didn't greet or welcome, however, the server was welcoming. The server was able to speak in English and Hindi which was nice. He was patient and answered all the questions. On purpose I asked the server to pack different things randomly to see his service and he was impeccable. Good customer service.

Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The restaurant is in a sketchy area, not the best of places, however, the restaurant/bakery captured the essence of the area and brought beauty to it. The ambience is very south Asian and reads the area well. Music and clearly labeled menu items with prices would help.“
