“This cake was an absolute masterpiece!! All three tiers were a different flavor, one even better than the next….my personal favorite was the coconut cake. Planning a wedding is so overwhelming and there are so many decisions to be made. Polkadot Cake Shop was well organized, quick to respond and so easy to work with. Also loved being able to support a business local to me. Thank you so much!!!“
“Love all the items on the menu! Tacos were crispy, loaded with tender and juicy shredded pork. Each bite was a magical combination of savoriness, sourness, sweetness, cheesiness…insanely packed with flavors. The price is unbelievable in 2024 NYC! “
“Cuban sandwiches are really good , as well as the pernil for a platter. Best pernil in area honestly. Highly recommend the yuca! Best yuca I’ve ever had, it’s a little acidic forewarning but I love that. The ham croquettes are really good too. The people that work there are very nice and helpful. Very welcoming “
“My new favorite halal in nyc! So sad that they don't open until 7pm because I typically eat dinner earlier. I've only ordered takeout before but it always tastes fresh. The fish is really well marinated and comes with a large portion. It comes with 3 sauces of which is packaged separately so you can choose how much you want to add. Definitely a stand out halal option that you have to give a try!“
“We had the best and most reasonably priced breakfast NY at Mama Jo’s and such a friendly, welcoming experience. This is a cart so no seating is available, ensure you understand this before leaving negative reviews, but the food is fresh and delicious!“
“I've heard about these guys when they were a food truck and now they have their first store front. Stopped in for lunch and the guys behind the counter were very friendly. They offered up suggestions depending on what I was in the mood for. It's mostly sandwiches there which the sandwich menu sounded great. There were a few returning customers who raved about the sandwiches in there as well. Unfortunately I'm trying to stay away from bread so luckily they had some hot food. I was offered eggplant, chicken cutlet, meatballs, pasta, vodka sauce, marinara, salads. They were very accommodating and said I could do half cutlet have eggplant platter with some mozzarella and vodka sauce. When I got back to work though it wasn't quite what I ordered .. it was all eggplant with mozzarella and marinara. So I was disappointed with that however the eggplant was excellent. It was thinly sliced lightly breaded eggplant. It was a large portion and I couldn't even finish it. So, despite it being the wrong order, the food was pretty good. They also have a soup of the day. It looks like they are still getting things up and running so the menu is a little limited unless you're a sandwich person. I'll return in hopes of getting cutlet.“
“If you grew up eating chicken over rice at halal carts in the city only to go vegan later in life you've experienced the extreme disappointment that comes with ordering falafel over rice without white sauce. It's a tragedy and a reason never to visit a halal cart again. Not at Sam's. Here the falafel is king and the platter is a shrine to the balls of chickpea. The sides and sauces all pack a punch of flavor and keep you coming back for more. The guys who work the cart are really sweet too. These falafels occupy a place in my heart.“
“Great!! As someone who grew up in TX, I’m usually disappointed in Manhattan’s Mexican food options, but this is actually authentic and delicious! The consumé in particular was phenomenal. Only way this could be better is if they also sold horchata or tamarindo aquas frescas?“
“We went to this food truck late last night for Halal and it was very tasty! We ordered the chicken over rice and got a very big portion for only $11. The employees were very friendly and got the food out within 5 minutes. We would come back here to order Halal if we are out again in Hoboken.“
“Hidden gem of a food truck. Lots of meat in the tacos. Delicious consomme. Open late. What's not to love? They have a deal for 3 tacos but I recommend getting 5 if you are hungry.Consomme has lots of meat chunks too so you will get your fill of protein here.“
“First of all i should slap this man for good his food is. i little get off work every few days and scoop me up a platter or two. the preparation it takes for when everything is fresh, well seasoned and so damn good! A BLACK OWNED BUSINESS!! not too many in the city but this one here is top 5. y’all definitely won’t regret it. the food is great, the prices are reasonable and the customer service is phenomenal. 100/10.. GO GET YOU ONE! ❤️❤️❤️“
“When I find a gem, I share it! Yes, yes, yes! Hallelujah to good food! We were trying to find some tacos to eat before going home and I came across a little taco truck that I had to try! They have the pastor tacos in the traditional rotating-roster, and they were delish! I also had an elote ? with everything, and a tiny bit of the powder-picante was enough for me to get a kick of spice in my mouth that turned on all the right taste buds! The lady who took care of us was polite, fast, and so kind! I will definitely be back to try the other tacos they have!!“
“Great atmosphere, lovely food, friendly, excellent service. Really enjoyable experience. Turned up on spec, was very busy but we were advised if we waited 30 mins we could order then. Sat happily with a drink, 30 mins exactly later menus offered, then very prompt but unhurried service. Perfect“
“Just dropped by for the first time (embarrassingly) after a coworker recommendation, one of those places I've walked by 100 times and somehow never stopped it. And now it's going to be a regular in the rotation!I got their grilled chicken set (#2) and it was delicious - the chicken itself was amazingly well marinated and flavorful, the rice cooked perfectly to join with it - and man their sweet/mildly-spicy thai sauce they give you to go with it is pure heaven. The soup they give is very mild but pleasant. Their serving system felt slightly chaotic for a newbie, but it worked perfectly well, the woman working had a perfect memory and nailed people in order.Highly recommend!“
“We had just flown in and needed something before heading to a Colbert taping. We had no expectations, but absolutely loved the food. Only thing we didn't love was the sausage and only because it was seasoned in a way that wasn't for us. All of the other meats, sides and sauces were seasoned perfectly, tender, and delicious.“
“BEST TACOS EVER.Everything on the menu is great. Seriously you could pick anything, and it will be great. The shrimp tacos will give you a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Don’t sleep on the carnitas or the carne asada tacos either. The beef burrito... WHEW! This place is a real JC gem.“
“I always hoped for an excellent yakatori spot near Hoboken - never would have guessed it would be a dedicated chef working over red hot coals in front of the Starbucks on Newark. Bless this man.I ordered 2 mushroom skewers & one chicken. Was VERY VERY good. Like, I haven't had skewers this good since hitting up that Michelin star Yakatori spot in the city (I do hope they still exist, its been a while).Admittedly, I've passed by him MANY times before making a purchase. I was always either on my way to a lunch with someone in the city or on my way back from one. This time, funnily enough, I was coming back from having handrolls at a nice place. You'd figure I'd be Japan'd out - nope - there was capacity and I had put it off long enough. Was very much worth it. Don't make the same mistake I did, just go for it.It does take time for him to do his magic - he suggested in the future that I could get the order going in advance by sending a message on Instagram. Will take him up on that next time - especially when it's freezing out.“
“Best food we ate in NYC, especially because we can't get it in San Francisco. The $10 price point makes it even more delicious and worth the hour wait in line. Portions are perfect for post-show munchies and you can tell the meat is so fresh. Always ask for extra white sauce!“
“Working with Bro-Ritos was a very pleasant experience and we can't wait to bring them back to Rutgers-NB again! From the moment we contacted them through their website, they were professional, prompt, and friendly. We invited them for our annual Black Student Social which is a fall semester welcome program. The staff were kind and worked quickly to serve over 200 students. Our students were happy with their tacos and burritos. The owner was very accommodating and met all of our needs.Administratively, I was very impressed with Bro-Ritos. We made A LOT of requests and changes and had to work through the nuances of getting a new vendor approved, but Bro-Ritos was always responsive and on top of it. They are true team players. If you have the opportunity, you should book the Bro's!“
“The food here is amazing! My sister and I are Greek so we have high standards for souvlaki and we were not disappointed by the food from here. It is both tasty and great portions, also the staff were really friendly. 2 souvlakis and drinks for $29, great “
“I'll keep this short and to the point: this is the best burrito I've had in the city hands down, and it's not close. Everything fresh and phenomenally seasoned, the lengua is succulent, the al pastor just the right spicy-sweet mix, I can't wait to try a few more meats. The staff is super friendly and the food comes out quick. As far as ambiance, getting in and out of there in record time is all you really want from a food truck. The best.“
“We tried the puchka and jhal muri, loved the puchka - crunchy puris and the filling is delicious. I'll definitely be back for more, could have used more of the pani and can do without the egg on top. The best chaat I've eaten in the states for sure !“
“A small spot with some big flavors. Walked five blocks from my hotel to see what the hype was about regarding this food cart and it didn't disappoint. Bought the spicy chicken and lamb birianni for my wife and the lamb and rice for the kids. Both dishes were big on flavor. The menu is more varied than many of the other carts. They had a variety of sandwiches and even samosas. The man running the cart was quick and attentive. I wish they had a bigger umbrella or canopy for those rainy days like the day I got the food. I unfortunately was getting increasingly wet while I waited for my order. Still, this spot is worth checking out.“
“Delicious food at a great price. Quick and easy meal to grab for lunch, without having to wait long at all. Been around here for 5 years and Its been my favorite spot that I go to for lunch at least once or twice a week. Definitely add the chipotle mayo, its a game changer.“
“Still amazed how quickly the food came out and the fact that the owner was running from his 1st truck to a 2nd truck to serve customers is incredible. Food was simply 11/10, vegetarian friendly, super delicious, fresh and for the price you get quite a lot. One of the best street food spots in NYC.“
“Great guys on the truck and seriously solid reasonably priced food...been going to them for a year ordering 2 or 3 go tos...BUT tonight switched it up a bit and had their Birria "sandwich" basically a Mexican Torta...my oh my that torta was UNREAL good and for $10 a bargain...can't recommend it enoughParking: solid“
“This is a very underrated truck in the city. One of the best birria spots I've tried in a while. I tried this place on new years, and it was sooo good, I dragged any of my friends that mentioned anything about food that day. I first got the birria torta, which was a heavenly sandwich, and a great deal for 10$. I also went back for a birria quesadilla, which was also really good! The service was quick both times, and I really appreciate them keeping reasonable prices on new years, with 1 dollar waters and 2 dollar sodas! I can't speak too much about the ambiance because I assume this was a temporary location for new years, but I would follow this truck anywhere. No food pics, food was gone way before I ever thought about taking a picture.“
“Damn. I should have gotten a picture but THAT’S HOW GOOD IT WAS. We got chicken tacos, an al pastor quesadilla and an asada quesadilla. Everything came with a bunch of guac, was freshly cooked, with good portions, and very (and I mean very) spicy salsa on the side. Al pastor was my fav, but that’s cause I’m a sucker for the savory/sweet. Get anything here and I’m sure it’ll be good.“
“New favorite taco spot The Pastor tacos were tasty and had a generous amount of filling First time trying a grilled onion. Did not expect it to be so yummy! They followed the specifications I gave on the first order of tacos Speedy and friendly delivery No notes 10/10“
“I'd recently picked up 4 wonderful beers from 'Strong Rope, who offered no food, no food truck nearby. So when I walked around the corner to see the shiny metal caravan, on kitch fake grass, selling sandwiches, I was thrilled. My breakfast sandwich ($8) in the afternoon was very tasty and delivered with style. It was small. 5 stars would need a bigger sandwich. O would definitely eat here again, thankyou!“
“First time trying out delicious savory crepe Chinese style! A friendly and helpful gentleman helped me order what I want. Will be back for sure. We tried #1 classic and #6 with turkey ham and pork floss. Both were very tasty. FYI, no cc, cash, Zelle or Venmo.“
“Food is amazing. But communicating with them is really hard sometimes and it really leads to screw ups.Wait time can be crazy esp if you order anything that needs to be grilled but thats expected.I have been eating from them since 2019 and the taste was been amazing.Parking: Located at a junction of 2-3 streets & JFK blvd so reaching the spot and finding parking (albeit temporary is not a problem)“
“Love birria-landia in brooklyn and decided to come to the roosevelt ave location. This one definitely seems larger as they had a whole section for orders and things. Food is always good but i will say it did get pretty expensive. Downside is that parking in this area is difficult.“
“Everything was soooo good!We had the longaniza, morcilla, buche & chicharrón, it was all fried to perfection. That morcilla ??My Chimi de res was perfect! The guys in the truck were very nice and service was fast! We are totally going back “
“Some of the best Al pastor tacos I’ve had in nyc, with a good price. The serving of meat is overly generous, pipping hot & delicious. Sweet pineapple and fresh cilantro balance it out perfectly. Tacos are grilled in oil and super piping hot - almost impossible to pick up right away. Use a fork!“
“Every time I go to Brooklyn, I end my night at this Taco spot. Everything they have is very flavorful and unique. Their vegetarian options are also insanely delicious. My two favorite things off the menu are the huaraches and the choriqueso.Vegetarian options: Mostly all dishes have a veggie option“
“We were impressed by the Top 100 Croissants by Yelp and the best ranking among NYC is Frenchy’s Food Truck. By browsing reviews and photos on social media, we were extremely curious to try their pastry so here we were. The food truck is parked at the corner of Franklin & Eastern Pkwy and it looks adorable with bright red color. The owner David is super friendly and welcoming. There were various pastry options with satisfying smell. We had their Plain, Almond, Ham & Cheese and Chocolate Croissant. The Ham & Cheese Croissant was one of our favorites, extremely satisfying with flavorful filling and beautiful layers. The filling of Almond Croissant was rich and creamy. I personally love their chewy texture at the bottom.“
“Top chef ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️Best food i’ve ever had, just feels like home when you’re having it. I kid you not i could eat this everyday. My catering was right on time and Chef Eddie and his team went above and behind to make sure our event went smooth. Thank you so much again. Definitely will be rebooking for future parties. !“
“Right outside of Marshall's and TJMaxx, you are greeted with rich aromatic smells of halal food. I purchased the chicken over rice platter and not only are the flavors rich and savory, but they add on more that most halal carts don't do. You get French fries, peppers jalapeños, green sauce and chopped tomatos/onions. If this isn't one of the most top tier halal carts I've ever had the pleasure of discovering, then idk what is. Plus Debit/Credit is accepted. Worth the money if you ask me!“
“As someone who grew up in eating mexican food in San Diego, I approve of the quality from this truck. The employees are always friendly and the food is reasonably priced. I always get the carnitas burrito without lettuce and their red sauce reminds me of home.“
“Generous portions, consistent great taste, and very affordable at $10-11 for most dishes! I've gotten their chicken drunken noodles and pad see ew and both have been very tasty and perfect for a cheap after-work dinner. The woman at the food truck is always friendly and the noodles are prepared fast, which is a plus.“
“We use pita bowl for our office monthly catering and they never disappoint! Their food is crowd pleaser, everything is proportionately made , very fresh and juicy. Some months we request them certain dishes and they even fulfill those. Their prices are very reasonable as well!We love pita bowl and wish to see them around for many years!“
“LISTENNNNNNNNNN i saw the reviews and needed a fast lunch for 2 to go. $4/ea for FULLY LOADED delicious made with love tacos, $2 for tamales. I'm so full and will absolutely be returning. this is the kind of neighborhood cart you love to support!“
“This truck hasn't failed me yet. Anytime I visit my mother in sunset park, I make sure to stop and pick up food too bring home. The birria consome is delish. The tacos are great quality, flavored, and full of meat. They don't skimp on the rations. Best part I can phone my order in and pickup so it reduces the wait time. Definitely must try if you are in the neighborhood.“
“This food truck always has a line - for good reasons. Have tried their burger and kale salad - both were fantastic. Can't wait to try more items on their menu. Price is reasonable and service is always friendly. Go - you won't regret it.“
“Want to eat a burger in New York? Go here. Definitely go.I went 3 times during my trip to New York. Eat everything. There is no place to eat.Central Park is just a short walk away. It's easy to find an empty bench.I really want to eat Tony’s Burger.??“
“As a Texan who eats amazing Mexican style tacos on a regular basis back in Texas, these tacos were absolutely delicious and authentic. Double corn tortilla with either green or red salsa. I had a beef tongue, steamed goat, Al Pastor, beef and chicken taco ????! So good and as compatible to any amazing tacos I regularly eat in Texas. Highly recommend.“
“According to my friend who lives here, Greek is the way to go when you're in astoria. So we ordered some gyros and other delicious bites from Frankys and I was not disappointed. I got the beef suvlaki plate and omg the meat was so flavorful and freshly grilled you could still taste the smoke from the fire. The white sauce was great and veggies were fresh. I'd definitely make this spot a regular stop if I lived here“
“Easily 10/10 and one of my new favorites. Having recently discovered a gluten intolerance, it's been difficult finding locations that can accommodate me! However, wisp went above & beyond to explain the menu items to me, offered substitutions of rolls to make it GF friendly, and even labeled all of the GF items (including GF soy sauce that I did not even know existed)!“
