“When I arrived with my 4 year old daughter, I realized this restaurant may be a little more formal than we expected and not a place that served many kids. However, our experience was wonderful, and I can’t wait to go back. The staff treated my daughter so nicely & made her feel welcome, the food was delicious, they had a nice wine list, and a lot of care went into every detail. This is how a restaurant should be. Everything we ordered was tasty & well prepared, we had a nice swordfish appetizer and whole branzino that was filleted table side. I am looking forward to going back & trying more of their menu items.“

“Came here on Pi day 3/14 for a large plain pie and a grandma’s pie. The plain pie is 11.00 and the grandmas was a little higher. The style is thin crust and does not disappoint. The woman behind the counter was super friendly and nice to talk to while we waited. The sauce is sweet but not overly sweet and the grandma pie was super tasty. I will be back.“

“For my birthday my son and I ordered our dinner for takeout. Absolutely delicious. I had the avocado salad appetizer special (enough for two) and the Gnocchi Bolognese special (enough for two) and my son had Chicken Parmesan. The bread was fantastic as well - still some leftover. Yesterday was our second time visiting and the service alone is impeccable(Luis, thank you for making the night even more special!), but then add to that the delicious food and ambiance makes for a perfect date night. We enjoyed the steak frites, octopus, garlic shrimp, and burrata! And the sangria was a perfect addition to our meal :) We will definitely be back again!“

“Love this place. We’ve been coming here since we moved to the area 8 years ago. They’ve hosted our first baby shower and my parents birthday party. The food is excellent, I’m partial to the chicken Marsala and chicken francese. They also do a nut free pesto on request which is huge for nut allergy people like myself. “I've been looking for a local, full service coffee shop that roasts their own beans, sells coffee/espresso, as well as offers breakfast and lunch.**This IS that place**I couldn't tell from their website, but the posts I saw on insta showed that they serve food, and I'm happy to report that it tastes as good as it looks!Very friendly staff and accommodating. Although it's currently the middle of December, I wanted a macchiato over ice, which wasn't on their menu, but when I asked they happily said 'of course'.Seems like I'm going to have to sign up for their points system because I can tell I'm going to be back here a whole lot more.I'm particularly interested in sampling their beans, just wish i didn't have to buy an entire bag of beans. Why don't these local roasters sell sample packs, allowing you to still purchase a pound of beans, but separated into small batches with samples of each bean type? This would allow me to quickly figure out which bean I want to try without having to buy a single large bag and take a month to go through coffee I don't really like before trying the next type . . . He is the most sweetest man I have ever spoke with on the phone. “I really really really like this place. I ordered penne (a form of pasta) with butter alongside my family, and I love this place very much. The penne is beyond the term exquisite and the butter with it was amazing. I can only say the downside is the physical appearance and even then I like it. It's a little cramped and it's relatively hard to navigate when with a group even though the place is small, but I genuinely love this place very much. “This is a place we want to even during the pandemic, when there was hardly anyone there. Food is excellent, prefix menu before 6 pm is wonderful. It is small, like someone's living room. which is intimate, but you are delegated to a small table when you made reservations for two.. The tables that are for two are so close you hear every conservation and hardly room for your food. I asked if we could have a table for four when we went in at 5:30. Waiter said we could not have a table for four because there were others coming in with 4 .. After we were eating I saw a couple come in and they had a table for 4 but only two of them...Could it be they called the waiter by name? made me feel that all patrons are not created equal....obviously we were not. Good for 3-4 but not two. I asked if we came in at 4 pm, could we have a table for 4 and out by 5.....no was the answer. “I've been wanting to come here for so long, and for my Morris county friends who grew up in the Italian triangle (Belleville Bloomfield nutley) this is the best kept secret. The owner was a delight to speak to and his staff was very kind and attentive. They were able to make accommodation for me (dairy free) and provided recommendations. The table came with bread and a spread. It was fantastic! We ordered pappardelle bolognese - wow so good! The pasta tasted so fresh! You can tell it was house made. We also ordered a sandwich to split. We packed half of it up, as we were so full. The portions are huge. “I made a reservation for 6 (4 adults & 2 kids) through OpenTable for a Saturday dinner at 6. We were seated right away. The place looks like a house and before it was Locanda it was the Montville Inn. We started off with a bottle of Malbec and bread. For primi (appetizers), we ordered the calamari & shrimp with hot cherry peppers off the specials menu, risotto maile, zucchini flowers and mussels. The zucchini flowers were delicious (they come only 2 but we were asked if we wanted to add a 3rd one for $4 which we did). The mussels were not my favorite but my husband loved them. The risotto with the black truffle was incredible - very flavorful. The calamari and shrimp were a hit with the kids. For the main, we ordered different things off the menu but I got the Papardella which was delicious but unfortunately I was all carbed out so we took it home. Kids split the salmon and my husband got the fusili pasta special which was a little on the spicy side. The service was great in the beginning but as dinner went on, our server went missing and we were trying to catch other servers to grab dirty dishes or pay the check. We waited a long time trying to pay (+30 min) and my husband ended up going to the front to ask to pay because we all just wanted to go home. Food was great but service needs a but of tune up.“

“I came upon this place through a friend's recommendation, and he was spot on! A good indicator of how delicious the food will be is the taste emanating from the to go bags. It was tough to sit in the car with that phenomenal aroma. Although we didn't try the pizza, the entrées we opted with were delicious. We ordered the rigatoni with meat sauce, and that was pretty good. The chicken cheesesteak with the works (onions, peppers, and mushrooms) were fully loaded. The vegetables were at the bottom and the chicken was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of cheese. I loved the well toasted bun that was very crispy. If you're looking for a sandwich recommendation, listen to what all the reviews are saying and try to the eggplant - you won't be disappointed. It isn't even just the eggplant, all the ingredients come together well. The mozzarella is extremely fresh too. They also have several other spreads and toppings you can substitute or add on if you wish if you prefer to customize your sandwich. I understand wanting to prioritize the patrons on location at the moment, that's legit money being made right there, however, if they do choose to go that route, they should either stop or pause delivery and togo orders during their "peak" hours. It's frustrating to place an order only to have to wait 30 minutes for it to be "accepted" and then being told it will be another hour before it's delivered. For me personally, no big deal, however, I can see that being very offputting for the majority of the food ordering public. The door on the right leads to the DiMaio’s Pizzeria section.This is where you can place an order for Pizza, Stromboli, Calzones, Hot and Cold Subs,Pasta Dishes and more for take out only.The door on the left leads to the actual restaurant where you can sit down and be served. This is a BYOB which I love.I was immediately greeted by an our server I believe her name is Paola. She was very friendly and attentive. DiMaio’s has a good amount of tables for dining in.The restaurant itself has a casual, subtle and warm vibe. I found it very relaxing. This place is family friendly, and Wheelchair Friendly. They can also accommodate vegetarians.When you arrive there’s a few spots in the front, 2 handicapped spots, and a few regular spots with remaining parking in the back around the side of building.This restaurant has been around for at least 45 years. It’s has been a staple in the Berkeley Ht’s area.For starters some of us chose their Tomato, Cucumber, and Feta Salad. The rest chose their House Salad with shaved Parmesan on it. Both salads were very good. Hot Rolls with Butter were also put on the table.For my Entree I chose their Rigatoni and Chicken Alla Serafino-Sundried tomato, broccoli, mushrooms, peas. It had a light flavor and subtle components.One of my friends chose their Chicken Valdostana- it was served with mushrooms, prosciutto & Asiago cheese. My friend ate every morsel.Another friend chose for her Entree Chicken Marsala-mushrooms and Marsala wine, she enjoyed it.Another friend chose for her Entree Seafood Marinara-shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, and calamari. Again, everyone enjoyed their meal. The food is good here. We found for the area the food was pricey. Their chicken Francese was $29. The Seafood Marinara was $39. The other thing I found interesting was there was a charge to serve our own birthday cake. $2 per person.We decided to let the birthday girl take it home and enjoy it with her family. We just ordered desserts we picked off their tray. They were delicious , but for the price they were small portions which ranged between $11-$13 apiece. That’s definitely pricey for dessert.They do catering and parties here. I’ve had their pizza, and it’s decent too. “I went to this restaurant to celebrate my two sisters' birthdays. Service from beginning to end was excellent. The restaurant is small, and I would advise reservations. They have a wonderful menu of great Italian dishes prepared to perfection. We ordered appetizers, which were calamari, shrimp arrabiata, and the meatballs with fresh ricotta. All were excellent. Our main entrees we ordered were the seafood cappalini, lasagna w/ meat sauce, and the pork chop. The seafood cappalini was excellently prepared, just simply delicious with plenty of lobster, shrimp, mussels, and clams! Double cut pork chop could easily feed two people. I called Cioffi's and got Jerry the owner, who helped make my friend's birthday extra special by honoring my request for a heart-shaped pizza to be delivered to his house on his birthday.
