First of all, it's gorgeous, so sunshine-y and green. We sat at the bar and the service was great. We ordered the cantaloupe slushies and they were so, so good! They weren't overly strong + they mix them themselves, just a few ingredients. The guac was a little small but delicious. The pork tacos were pretty expensive for 2, I thought, until I tasted them. WOW, so good. We were so busy catching up, we didn't realize they'd closed to get ready for dinner. They emphasized we hadn't overstayed our welcome, we could stay as long as we needed.

I could definitely recommend the enchiladas suizas—they were very tasty, but also extremely spicy, even after asking for the hot sauce on the side. I feel that if they hadn’t been so spicy, I would have absolutely loved them. The churros come with a delicious white sauce, and the coconut cake is a great option if you’re a fan of coconut.“

The service was outstanding—attentive without being intrusive. Our party of six ordered everything at once and shared family-style, and the pacing of each course was spot on.

We started with all the appetizers, and it was nearly impossible to choose a favorite. The scallops al pastor, the corn, and the bass were each exceptional in their own way—beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor.

“My partner and I absolutely LOVED Casa Carmen TriBeCa! It was our first time there, it was convenient to a screening we were attending nearby at The Roxy. The food was sublime, the service wonderful, in a beautiful setting. Ron was our server and he was fantastic; he knew about my allergies (put in the reservation system) before approaching the table, accurately described the food preparations, and he and the staff were mindful and aware of all going on (the water carafe was always full!). We shared guacamole, my partner had tortilla soup (broth poured from a teapot at the table!) and lamb tacos. I had special tacos (branzino with the most amazing sauce flavor profile was very unique!) and vegetarian black beans. We shared churros for desert and I had an espresso. All was perfect. Of note, the plating was beautiful, elevated the food made with love even more. There were several big parties, but the sound level never got too loud (and I am very sensitive to sound); the 2-tops are also situated so you don't feel like people are sitting on top of you, and the bigger tables are perfectly situated. “Excellent restaurant serving a variety of Mexican and Mexican-inspired dishes, and some Sinaloan options like aguachile. It's hard to go wrong with any of the guacamoles, starters, or tacos. The aguachile and ceviches we've tried have been good. Was pleasantly surprised by their cocktails. Particularly like the Fridita and the Paloma. The couple that runs the restaurant is very kind. “My husband and I first heard about this place from King Schratz and I’m so glad we did!

Yes, like others have mentioned, it is a bit pricey, but it's absolutely worth it. The food is consistently delicious and you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My husband loves their tacos and burrito, and I’m a big fan of their elotes, tacos and taco bowls. Even my 79-year-old mother, who normally isn’t a fan of Mexican food, loves theirs. That alone says a lot!

Their tres leches is also incredible. I’ve sampled a lot of tres leches cakes in my life and theirs easily jumped to the top of my list.

Beyond the food, the customer service is just as impressive. Two of the owners, Jay and Kike, are always so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They even offer delivery, and their driver, Juan, is just as awesome! In this day and age, it’s rare to find a Mexican spot that’s both authentic and Latino-owned... and Just Tacos is exactly that. We’re more than happy to keep supporting them!“

For entrees we did the ribeye tacos, pescado con verdolagas and the ribeye huarache! All were so filling and delicious! As a Mexican, it’s hard finding good quality Mexican food with fresh ingredients but they really hit the nail on the head with each dish and the mix of flavors. The drinks packed a punch and we appreciated their use of mezcal in several of the cocktail options.

Finally to end we tried the tres leches which wasn’t too sweet but still moist. The fresh strawberries really elevated it. The pastel de elote was also a favorite, fresh out of the oven so it was warm and melted in your mouth. Mixed with the coffee ice cream, it was a dream.

“I cannot sing the praises of this place and the staff enough! We had a long day at the museum and we were all starving and the kids were very cranky. We took forever trying to find a place that they would all find something to eat at but that place didn't work out so we came here not realizing how lucky we were. After having a quick glance at the menu I realized two of my children would probably not eat anything. Two of the ladies that work there helped us work it out to piece together a meal for them with components they already have. It took quite a while figuring everything out but they were patient and helpful. The food was outstanding and the cocktails and mocktails were phenomenal. I wish I lived closer because this would be a regular place for me. Highly recommend!“
