“Have eaten for Bo Ne a great deal. Love the food and have lived in Vietnam and food is very much on par with the actual Vietnamese Restaurants in Ho Cho Minh City and Hanoi. Can not say anything bad for the place. Have frequented since first opened and the original owners.“

“Really great food- we had the shrimp fried rice, noodle bowl and wings (salt + pepper). All meals were so tasty even the spring rolls! Wings were crispy, well seasoned and tasty. Restaurant staff are very nice and welcoming. We sat in, only 4 tables. It was a good dining experience not like a sit down restaurant for example you order at the desk, and there’s no waiter. So casual and lovely vibes! Definitely recommend and will be ordering again!!“

Corey's pho is fire[1], full of trimmings, with a soothing beef broth.

Chef/owner Corey is a cool dude - he offered his homemade chili oil to me, which pizazz'd my noodles. I've never had chili oil with pho until I went to Corey's; it's now a sometimes habit for me!

This restaurant is the size of a breadbox[2], so call ahead before bringing your party of 8 there. If you want to host a private party, just work with the restaurant directly.

What makes our visits even better is the wonderful service. There is a young lady name Tam who takes care of us whenever we come in, and she is honestly the sweetest! She is so friendly, welcoming, down-to-earth, and always makes us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Great customer service like that really makes a difference and keeps you wanting to come back.

“I’ve walked by this spot so many times, and it seemed every time I was hungry they were closed (closed on weekends) but today I finally stepped in. I ordered 2 bánh mìs and a Vietnamese coffee. Pete, the owner/operator of the spot was the only one there and we instantly jumped into great conversation about the music scene in Philly back in the late 90s. We ended up knowing a lot of the same people. Philly is a tight knit group. So even before eating the food I was already a fan of this spot. Pete served me his special take on Vietnamese coffee while we talked and he made the sandwiches. The iced coffee was excellent, but different and less sweet than Vietnamese coffee I’ve had in the past. He also used ice cubes made of coffee which was an added bonus for a coffee junkie like myself. After we talked for nearly 20 min, I walked home with my sandwich and WOW! Such a solid bánh mì! I told him to make it like he would make it for himself (spicy) and he knocked it out of the park. I’ll be back and I’ll be bringing all my music friends here when they are in the neighborhood. I highly encourage Olde City residents as well as Philly locals to give this place a try!“

Vietnamese restaurants can sometimes be a miss when it comes to professionalism and friendly service, but these ppl made sure our table had everything we needed.

Just as we were sitting down to eat our food the worker decided to open the doors to carry all the outdoor furniture in then kept them open while he changed trash outside too. “Stopped in for lunch, it was fantastic! I wish I was from this area so I could go back. The Pho was quite possibly the best I have ever had. I had brisket and meatballs, the brisket was very tender and the meatballs had great flavor. It is a mom and pop shop, so a little bit of wait but so worth it for the delicious food! “Mama Ha’s is regular part of my Saturday to load up on food. Always a variety of summer rolls and vermicelli dishes available to go. “We always come for the hoagie and coffee, grab and go. Don't be fooled by the lackluster neighborhood and surrounding area, Vinh Long Cafe is an amazing Vietnamese cafe and restaurant that is surely overlooked and underrated. It is a secret gem in South Philly. The Vietnamese iced coffee is made perfectly and the Vietnamese hoagie is unbelievably fresh and authentic. One reason it doesn't get the visits and accolades it deserves is probably due to its environment. Often the cafe seems to be filled with only local friends or family just hanging out. Sometimes the place is completely empty and they play traditional news or music. It doesn't seem too welcoming to those who don't speak the language, but don't be intimidated as this is just the traditional ways of the people there. Just walk up to the owner - who is always at counter - and ask for a Vietnamese hoagie and coffee. They make the hoagie on order right there in front of you. It's fresh and as authentic as it gets. Eat there or take it to go. It's worth the try.“

“Wanted to give this a try for takeout. There are about 4 seat along a bar facing the window, but it's very cramped. My hubs got the beef pho and I got the bun with grilled pork. Plus we got an order of spring rolls (2). Total was $37.
Everything was packaged and transported fine. The meat was raw, wrapped in plastic, which was kinda funny, but it cooked up well once we put it in the broth. The noodles in my order was over cooked.
The service was slow for us. The lady who ordered behind me got two bahn mi's and her order came out before ours. *shrug*
