The 5th street Cubano was great. Homemade bread and you can tell. Pickles and spinach in every single bite! Huge plus considering a majority of places skimp on the fixins.

“I came here recently with my family and we all got the Bahn mi, I'll focus on the things i got though. I got a Korean BBQ fish (forgot what fish it was unfortunately) Banh mi and a flan, i tried the flan first, which was a really good flan, very smooth, not too strong on all the flavors except for the caramel, but it was easy to get around since it wasnt a big flan, really small actually (probably about 2.5-3inches in diameter), which I didn't mind.“

Every week is a new menu, every week is a celebration of the most delightful pastries you will ever eat! My only complaint is now she's ruined me for any other bakery, if it's not the witching flour's pastry...why bother... others are as if you ordered filet but was delivered a mcD's hamburger.“

“Trash bizcochitos that taste like sand. Way overpriced for average food. You can get the same quality in any Walmart bakery. Also the person who responds on Google decides that bad reviews must be lies. Call me a plebian with no taste if you can't handle criticism after 55 years in the business but don't pretend that there's no possible way someone couldn't like your dismal food so they must be lying. Go literally anywhere else for bizcochitos or coffee milkshakes or empanadas and you'll be doing better. If you just want to support local, you can't go wrong here.“

“I have lived in the area for four years and have never visited. I finally dropped in this week to order a sandwich. Unfortunately, they stop serving sandwiches after 5 PM. However, they were super gracious and offered me a generous sample of bread with delicious honey butter. I purchased their blue ribbon, blueberry coffee cake, which was reasonably priced as as well as delicious. It was frankly the best pastry I’ve ever had in the city. In addition to their friendly service and delicious bread and pastries, they also have a great selection of mustard, honey, as well as pancake mix and all sorts of other goodies. I will definitely be back for sandwiches at a reasonable hour. I highly recommend this place.“

“My family chose A Heavenly Taste for our first grandchild’s baby shower. I had purchased a special bundle which came with a variety of desserts perfect for the dessert table. I gave inspo photos and some direction but ultimately we left it to the artist. This was not a mistake as she knew the assignment! My only regret was not ordering extras. “I called around to 10 different bakeries yesterday and they all were booked. No one could make my son a cake for his 3rd birthday party. I went into ABQ Sweet Spot and they saved they day!! “Picked up a package of biscochitos at a little market in Bernalillo. Didn't open them until we were well on the way to Taos. The most delicious biscochitos I've had. Will definitely buy more this fall when I am back in Albuquerque.“

“I ordered a 6in celebration cake and it was overall pretty good. The ordering process over the phone was easy and they employee did a great job at helping me choose what to do since I didn’t have any grand ideas in mind. I described the color I wanted as a mossy/oilvey green that wouldn’t be too bright or too dark and they absolutely nailed it. The cake was moist and yummy and the Bavarian cream filling was amazing. The one problem was that the buttercream was so salty that no one ate it. All the frosting was scraped off because it was just too savory. Luckily the cake itself was so good that it didn’t need the frosting anyway. I would definitely order from them again but with a different kind of frosting. Not sure if it was just a fluke or if that’s just how they do it here.“

“I tried the New Mexico green chile bagel from Desert Flower Baking Co. while visiting La Cumbre Brewing Company and it was fantastic. The bagel had a great texture—chewy on the inside with a perfect crust—and the green chile brought a bold, spicy kick that really stood out. It was savory, flavorful, and definitely packed with authentic New Mexico heat.

If you enjoy green chile with a bit of spice, this is a must-try. I’d absolutely order it again and I’m looking forward to trying more items from Desert Flower Baking Co. the next time I’m there.“
