Costa Vida Reviews
We had heard great things about the food so we were first time customers. The restaurant was dirty. Everything from tables, and windows, to most importantly, the kitchen line floors and stoves and counters. The food was terrible and sloppy and we didn’t finish it. Disappointing.
Everytime we come into this restaurant we try to make it sure the employee, Danielle, is not working. She is incredibly picky with portioning and is beyond happy to over charge for everything that we ask and when confronted her response is that we need to pay extra. Based on the reviews, Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill offers food that is consistently described as fresh, delicious, and amazing. The customer service is often top-notch, with staff who are friendly, kind, and attentive. One reviewer highlighted Danielle and Keith for their incredible service; Danielle was super kind and attentive, while Keith made a perfectly executed Baja bowl. The atmosphere is always welcoming and cozy, making it a perfect spot for a casual lunch or dinner. A favorite menu item is the shredded beef burrito with rice and black beans, smothered in green chile and cheese, and topped with fresh pico de gallo and jalapeños. The signature sweet pork dish and homemade tortillas are also highly recommended. However, some experiences have been inconsistent. At times, the food preparation can look like there are children behind the counter, leading to a lack of attention and inconsistent meals. One first-time visitor noted that the tortilla bread was not fully cooked and a little doughy, and the green chili was too sweet. Despite these issues, the overall quality of the food is praised, and many customers express a strong intention to return.
