“I’m honestly not someone who usually goes for American-style BBQ, so I wasn’t expecting this place to be one of my favorites. But after trying the food here, I was genuinely impressed by how much I enjoyed it.

What stood out to me was that SMKD doesn’t feel like your typical BBQ spot. They take familiar smoked-meat classics and give them a more creative, modern twist while still keeping that deep, smoky flavor that makes BBQ so satisfying.

We tried a variety of dishes, including the Sliced Brisket, Burnt Ends, Smoked Salmon, and several other items. The brisket was tender and flavorful, while the burnt ends had that delicious smoky, caramelized quality that makes them so satisfying. The smoked salmon was another nice change of pace and added some variety to the meal.

The sides were just as enjoyable. We tried the Red Beets & Orange Carrots, OG Cole Slaw, Dirty Dirty Beans, and Not Boxed Mac-n-Cheesy, and each one brought something different to the table. I especially enjoyed having a mix of smoky, savory, creamy, and fresh flavors alongside the meats.

And if you enjoy drinks, they have a great selection to pair with the BBQ, from local and craft beers to cocktails like the Spicy Watermelon Margarita and Espresso Martini. I also like that they offer non-alcoholic and lower-ABV options.

Another big highlight of our visit was Wendy, the manager. She was absolutely amazing! She was so attentive and thoughtful from beginning to end, helped us navigate the menu and choose what to order, and made sure everything was going smoothly throughout our meal. Her warm and genuine hospitality really made the experience even better.

Chef Alex Reznik has created something really fun here—BBQ that feels familiar but still has plenty of personality and creativity.

As someone who normally doesn’t seek out American BBQ, I can honestly say SMKD won me over. Everything was flavorful, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was excellent.

“Met 4 workout friends here for breakfast and had a wonderful breakfast! Most all breakfast entrees were $10 to $16. All 5 of us really enjoyed our food and coffee. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was so big, I only ate 1/3. Service was quick and friendly! Particularly appreciate the glass wall that separates the gaming/bar area away from the restaurant. Interesting location - and one would never notice it if you were not having your car washed next door. Plenty of free, off street parking.“

“My daughter and I each had the basic AYCE . The service was Friendly and prompt , the sides were hot and arrived quickly. The meats were varied and well presented. Our favorite was the ribeye and the brisket. The pork belly was good as well. Chicken was so-so. Do yourself a favor and Get “the shit” IYKYK“

My go-to order is the spicy beef plate (or chicken, depending on the mood) with the meat and onions cooked well done for that extra char flavor, plus crispy garlic on the rice. Always cooked perfectly and packed with flavor.

I’ve seen some reviews mention rude staff, but I honestly haven’t experienced that. There is a bit of a language barrier, but they genuinely try their best, and in my opinion, they do a great job. Consistent, delicious food and a spot I’m happy to keep coming back to.“

“We’re big fans of Hawaiian food, and L&L absolutely understood the assignment. I ordered the Regular Chicken Curry, which in hindsight was a tactical error because that thing could feed a small village. The “mini” would’ve been plenty unless you’re training for an eating competition.

My dining partner went for the short ribs and immediately entered a state of bliss. She said they were soooo good—the kind of good where you stop talking mid‑sentence because your taste buds demand silence.

Now, the ramen noodle soup with spam… oof. That one was giving strong “college dorm emergency meal” energy. Zero flavor. Tasted like someone opened a store‑bought ramen packet, shrugged, and said “good enough.”

But credit where it’s due: the front‑of‑house lady was incredibly sweet, and the orange pineapple soda? Perfection. Liquid sunshine. Would drink again without hesitation.

Was it too much food? Absolutely. Would we go back? Also absolutely. We’re not quitters.“
