I always judge a Thai spot by its Pad Thai, and Penn’s House delivers. The yellow curry was another standout—rich, comforting, and full of flavor.

Now, this isn’t a fancy place. The interior is pure Plain Jane, but that’s part of the charm. I met the owner, the chef, and the cashier… and it turned out they were all the same person. Something about that made me like the place even more.

One wrong step, and boom — I’m free-falling like a majestic bowling ball with commitment issues. No parachute, no plan, just pure aerodynamic panic. As I plummeted through the clouds, I saw my life flash before my eyes — mostly memories of me saying, “It’s fine, I’ve got this.” Spoiler alert: I did not got this. Then fate intervened. Out of all the places on Earth, I crash-landed right through the roof of Houston Hot Chicken like a meteor made of confusion and regret. I didn’t so much land as I reintroduced myself to the concept of gravity. Tables flipped, fries flew, and someone screamed, “Bro just DoorDashed himself!” The employees, absolute legends, didn’t even flinch. One handed me a napkin, another asked, “You want that mild or extra hot?” My spine said mild, but my soul said let’s make it worth it. I left that restaurant smelling like jet fuel and Nashville seasoning, but with a heart full of gratitude and a stomach full of dangerously good chicken. Final verdict: Service — 10/10 (They didn’t call an ambulance until I finished eating.) Atmosphere — explosive. Food — so hot it resurrected me. Would recommend? The general manager reached out to me directly and offered to remake my order. I appreciated her offer and following up on my feedback.

Check your order before you leave the restaurant if it's a large order.
I placed an online order for 4 Family Proteins (all grilled chicken) and was given a family chicken meal, which includes 2 Rice and 1 Veggies.
I basically paid $80 for a family meal, which is $32. I lived 25 mins from this location, so I wasn't going back. I submitted feedback through their website, so hopefully I can get refunded the difference.

“1st time in here and the atmosphere was really cool, calm and cozy. Simple easy to navigate menu. Went in to specifically try the Mozzerella sticks and fries which did not disappoint! You choose your spice level. Only regret is leaving without any chicken! Will be back for that soon.“

“Chick Fil A is incredible. It's consistent and always delivers a good experience. This locating does not have the typical double Chick-fil-A drive thru. The single line made things slower. But in the end everything turned out well. The order was correct and the did was good. The arrive guy 4/5 starts because it took quite a while to receive our order. Everything end was great. I highly recommend Chick-fil-A fur a quick bite to eat.“

“This looks cation is really busy so the workers are under a lot stress but the do a great job. The service can be a bit slow because of how much they have to do during busy times.

They have always done a great job getting me all my items and keeping the food consistent. I don't mind waiting since the food is hot and not sitting staged for a long time.“
