This restaurant is an absolute must-visit if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food in the heart of Fremont Street. The drinks were equally amazing — vibrant, refreshing, and crafted to perfection.

The ambience was fantastic — lively yet relaxed — and the view overlooking Fremont Street made the whole experience even better. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy great food, sip on a margarita, and take in the energy of downtown Las Vegas. “Delicious food. The menudo was sooo good and a huge portion. The tortillas took a while to come out after I got my menudo but were worth the wait. My partner really enjoyed his shrimp cocktail and taquitos dorados. The miche and salsa were top notch. Rosalba and Liz were helpful and kind. Love the atmosphere and cute outfits“

“I’ve had Tacos el Gordo from right next door. These tacos really rival them. We weren’t planning on coming here, but after we saw how long the line at Gordo’s was, we decided to come here. “Amaya Modern Mexican is one of the newest additions to the dining scene at The Cosmopolitan, opening its doors on December 30. Specializing in contemporary Mexican cuisine, this restaurant combines bold flavors with a sleek, modern atmosphere that perfectly fits the Cosmopolitan’s vibrant energy.

The ambience is chic and inviting, with a cool, upbeat soundtrack that gives the place a lively, almost club-like vibe. The interior design is a feast for the eyes — a beautiful blend of earthy tones in greens, browns, and beiges. As you walk in, you’re greeted by a striking bar on the right and bar seating to the left, both accented by stunning cone-shaped textured lamps and warm wooden touches throughout. In the center of the main dining room hangs a breathtaking chandelier made of wooden circular pieces that resemble fish tails, while the back wall features an elegant wooden wave sculpture that ties the whole aesthetic together. The mix of booth and table seating maintains a cozy yet sophisticated feel.

The cocktail menu is small but carefully curated, while the dinner menu offers plenty of appealing options without feeling overwhelming. We started with two cocktails — the La Llorona and Fuego y Hielo — both beautifully presented and bursting with unique flavor. The guacamole we ordered as a starter was fresh and delicious, the perfect way to begin the meal.

For our main course, we tried the lobster tacos and the branzino. The lobster tacos, made with Maine lobster, cabbage, avocado, corn, black beans, pico de gallo, and served on soft flour tortillas, were outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The branzino was cooked to perfection, tender and flaky with just the right seasoning. We also ordered a side of the street-style corn, which had excellent flavor and that authentic smoky sweetness you’d expect from classic Mexican elote.

Midway through dinner, we were surprised by an exciting performance featuring dancers and fire breathers — an unexpected touch that added an extra layer of fun and energy to the evening.

Service was superb. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming — always nearby without being intrusive. She made sure our glasses stayed full and our experience was smooth from start to finish.

Overall, Amaya Modern Mexican is a fantastic new dining destination that checks all the boxes: great food, stylish ambiance, and exceptional service. Whether you’re staying at The Cosmopolitan or just exploring the Strip, it’s definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.“
