“As a safety professional, I travel job sites from San Diego to Crescent City, constantly on the road and always searching for great local food—especially seafood. I’ve eaten at some of the best seafood spots up and down the California coast, but I have never had a shrimp taco like the one at Los Mandilones in Reno–Sparks, NV.

Their shrimp taco is truly next level—perfectly seasoned shrimp, fresh ingredients, and unmatched flavor. All of their food is excellent, but for me, the shrimp tacos are by far the best I’ve ever had anywhere.

If you’re in the Reno–Sparks area, do yourself a favor and stop at Los Mandilones. You’ll leave impressed, satisfied, and already planning your return.“

“Oceano is still one of my favorite sushi spots at the Reno. The food is consistently good, and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful, which really adds to the experience.

It’s a great place for lunch or dinner, and the atmosphere is always enjoyable. They also offer a free private dining room (when available), which is a great option if you’re meeting with a larger group and want a more comfortable setting.

One thing to note is that the sushi rolls tend to be heavier on the rice, which can fill you up pretty quickly. Personally, I wish they offered smaller or lighter rolls, but the quality and flavors are still very good.

I also appreciate that they offer a local resident discount if you have a Peppermill players card.

Overall, a solid choice for sushi in a great setting.“

“This is an all-you-can-eat sushi bar for 32.99, located in the Skywalk at the Atlantis Casino. You can order and watch the expert chef prepare it right at the bar. Great atmosphere on the scenic skywalk with 360-degree mountain views and Virginia St traffic passing below. The long roll entrees are works of art, almost too beautiful to eat, but they are delicious! My favorite was the mussels on the half shell. Don't miss this spot when you're in Reno!“

“Where do I start! From the hostess who sat us, to the server, the general manager, the cook,the lady who brought us our food and of course LORI. I am appreciative of everyone. This is a true show of how an amazing steakhouse should run. You can see that everyone is truly working in harmony to give the best experience every time. I loved my ENTIRE meal from appetizer to dessert. Such an amazing and memorable experience. Have been to multiple steakhouses in Reno Casinos ( Atlantis, j resort, legends) this by far is the best. “Tremendous dining experience, as always! However, we have found a home away from home in the comfort Jose and David have made in the Cactus Creek Steakhouse bar. They are always so incredibly helpful, skillfully welding delicious libations that wet the pallet. Both always smiling and quick to wait on us, sure. But the real experience is in the welcoming conversation and camaraderie. I cannot recommend the experience enough!“

“I ordered the food for my friend so I don't know how the food tastes yet. I used the doordash app and placed a pickup order. In the app it would not allow me to select the same meat option twice so I put in the comments and ask them to do double sweet and sour chicken. When I arrive to pick up the order the the man at the counter was extremely enthusiastic, very polite and was like I made sure I had your double chicken for you and then even included double sweet and sour sauce for our egg rolls. I absolutely love that he took care of us. And his enthusiasm was refreshing“

We also ordered the Bok Choy, and it was simple but perfectly cooked—fresh, crisp, and nicely seasoned. A great complement to the richer dishes.

“I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Chi Restaurant inside the Peppermill. From start to finish, our server Hannah was incredibly gracious, welcoming, and attentive. She had a perfect sense of timing, always there when we needed something yet thoughtful about giving us space to enjoy catching up. I was visiting with a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time, and Hannah helped make the evening feel relaxed and special.

My friend is vegan, and the kitchen had no trouble accommodating her dietary needs. She ordered the Stir Fry Tofu with Cashews, while I had the Stir Fry with Tender Beef and Broccoli. Both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We also ordered the Spring Roll appetizer, which comes with three, and Hannah kindly offered to add an extra roll so we could split them evenly, such a thoughtful touch.

For dessert, we shared the Mango Tapioca and Thai Tea Cheesecake, and both were fantastic. Portions were huge and generous. I left feeling completely full, happy, and now I even have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

Another nice touch was when the manager, Patrick, stopped by to check on our table and make sure everything was going well. That level of care really stood out.

Hannah was truly the star of the show and made this an experience we’ll be sharing with friends and family. We’re already looking forward to coming back soon.

“Excellent lobster Mac and cheese. Perfectly seasoned and a generous amount of lobster! We had king crab and scallops along with corn and red potatoes, Seasoning was wonderful. You can choose your heat level and we had medium a perfect combination of spice and an explosion of flavors. The Lamb Lollipops is a must order, flavor was great, texture and doness was fabulous. It is regarding the famous Beef Wellington, the plating was beautiful, the wrapped patstry was fantastic along with the sauce and side items that come along with it. the Filet Mignon was very tender but personally the texture of it wasn't for me. I would still definitley recommend to order it if it is your very first time trying a Beef Wellington to cross it off your list. All in all a very good experience.“

“I went to Japan for Christmas and have had sushi 4 times and never close to Japan. I tried the all you can eat because it included Nigiri, my my sushi lady was the best that I’ve had since I’ve got back from Japan. Her name was Rose ask for Rose if you come I was so impressed. Her skills were beyond expectation closest thing I’ve had since Japan I will be back to visit Rose.
