When we found other establishments on New Scotland Ave closing their dining rooms by 9pm on a Saturday night, SakeCafe was graciously open, serving delicious food (we tried a little of everything from sushi to Udon) and with the best tableside service I've experienced in literally years. Smoothies, smoothie bowls, protein shakes, and all types of food choices from all over.
One of their undefeated meals is the Caesar salad with steak on top. You will not be disappointed. They have a ton of healthy snacks and over 40 drink choices. They even have seaweed chips! The chef is very kind and he talks to everyone. The staff are great, very accommodating. If you call to order give them about 20 minutes before you pick up. They have wheel chair accessibility as well. It’s

The building had previously been home to a bar called Mahars, which was one of the first craft beer bars in the country, before it was the cool thing to do. “This place is amazing. I didn't know what to expect going in to the all you can eat restaurant. I was happily surprised that it's not buffet style. Servers and bussers. The restaurant is nicely styled and comfortable. The greeters and wait staff couldn't have been kinder or more professional. $28.99 is worth every penny just for that. The longest we had to wait between orders was no more than 5 minutes. The food was fresh, perfectly presented and absolutely delicious! I really can't find the superlatives to describe it. Everything combined made this experience one of the best outings I've ever had. I HIGHLY recommend this place.“

“This place is so nice and the guy they had out front was awesome. Very friendly and good at making conversation that was appropriate for the situation. As soon as we walked in I could smell how good this place was going to be. The overall atmosphere was a really nice mix of casual and more upscale. Very nice seating arrangements and I loved the nice blue fake fire place. I would definitely recommend them. We also went during a time when it was not very busy about 4pm yet there were still a handful of tables full despite the unpopular time.“

This place has some of the best cocktails I’ve had, easily rivaling overpriced drinks in Manhattan - shout out to Tom!
If you have no idea what you want to drink, no worries, talk to the bartenders, they’ll help you, might even whip up something creative on the spot.
Monday nights belong to Brian the bacon guru, baby I eat pork again when I roll up here on a Monday (I pay for it later too, well worth it, lol).

The patrons are some of the most diverse and amazingly chill group of folks I’ve encountered since moving from the multicultural NYC life - Bx to be exact - to the parts up yonder.

The owner, Joe, is one of the kindest humans, and honey like attracts like, because his team definitely match his energy, they are hands down, some of my favorite people up here! Special shout out to Victoria & Corrine ❤️!

“Today I was at the Wolf Road location on my lunch. Unfortunately when I sat down I set my drink down on the edge of my try and it spilled everywhere! I went to the counter and asked for a towel to clean up my mess. The gentleman working the register told me he’d take care of it. He came over with a towel and smile then clean up the mess I had made. He even refilled my soda which he had no obligation to do. Sorry I didn’t grab his name but he had a red hat on and curly hair in the back. I’m sure you have people making constant messes that needed attending to but you wouldn’t have known by your reaction to my blunder. I’m in a profession where service is a primary focus and this is what great service looks like. Thank you again for your help today!“

“I have dined in Stacks on numerous occasions and I regularly get take out. This is one of my three go to coffee shops in Albany NY. I enjoy the Chai lattes, seasonal soups, sandwiches, and croissants. The only thing they need is Hazelnut syrup for the drinks!“

“I’m a sucker for Bavarian food, so we stopped in to grab a takeaway meal while in town for the night. Overall, the food was just average, but definitely a fun atmosphere.

The potato salad was phenomenal, easily the standout and something I’d happily recommend. The Jägerschnitzel sandwich, however, was missing the oyster mushrooms and schwarzbier gravy listed on the menu (see photo), which was disappointing. We were also expecting the goulash to be more traditional, with chunks of beef; instead, it leaned more toward an Americanized ground-meat style.

While waiting for our food, we enjoyed a beer at the bar. The bartender was friendly and easy to talk to, which made the time fly by. I can absolutely see this being a fun spot for EPL mornings or a casual beer stop, even if the food didn’t quite live up to traditional Bavarian expectations.“
