“I live outside St. Louis in Eureka, MO so I haven't been to The Other Place, I lived there. Well, not there but above there in the front apartment back in 1954 when it was a bakery. My dad was stationed in Iceland so it was just my Mom and I. I visited Allegany in 1977 and then it was a tavern. It's nice to see the place is still there and doing so well.“

“Had a going away party at JJ’s for about 50 people. The staff was wonderful in helping us create a menu, the cooks were friendly and had everything out and ready. They were easy to work with and the prices were very reasonable. I would def do it there again.“

“Great neighborhood bar with lots of after-work regulars. Too bad that drinks aren’t allowed on the porch, like they are at every other bar in town... seems as though there’s a bit of a strain between those who issue the licenses and the owner here, and that’s a shame. What’s good for everyone else should be good for everyone else, one would think! Anyway, good food, hardly ever a cover charge for the live music every weekend, and no trouble here. Great little bar.“

“Great food! Stopped there on a whim and what a pleasant surprise. Staff was fun, food was great (try the chocolate cake) and atmosphere was cool! I can always tell when a restaurant has a real chef, and the quality of food and presentation said it all. Go there, you'll love it!“

“The food was absolutely amazing! Bourbon wings, Ruben with Cajun fries and the fried pickles are the best! The spicy ranch dressing puts the pickles over the edge! We will be back!“

“I stopped there for lunch yesterday. I had the Rodeo Burger. It was the best burger I have ever had! 1/2 pound burger topped with two golden onion rings, sauce, and home made mesquite potato chips on the side. If you are looking for a great meal, check them out.“
