“I went there with my Latin friend she's Amazing ? and the people in there my Latin brother's made me feel so much at home ❤️ Even showed me some dance moves as well. I was the only black person I'm there but they welcomed me with open arm's, even met two cool men who we're coming from out of state at the bar, paid for our drinks, also another brother did the same ??? I definitely want to go back!!!!“

“We tried Taco Island Mexican Cantina in Mount Sinai for the first time tonight. We ordered the Fish Taco, Avacado Taco, Chicken Bacon Ranch Burrito, chips with homemade guac, and lastly the Pizza De Birria. The food was outstanding!! Honestly, it was some of the best Authentic Mexican food we have ever had. (Even our picky kids loved it) The employees were also super nice and brought us chips and sauces while we waited. After we ate they also brought us to go containers and a bag with a smile. 10 out of 10. Will return soon.“

It was my first time at this restaurant and it did not disappoint at all!
Im really bad with names but I think his name was Ricky, the manager/counter person. He was super welcoming, explained the menu, all our questions, hooked us up with some queso to try with the chips we ordered and threw in some dessert also!! Regardless of that, the guy is the type of person that'll make you wanna come back again.
With that aside, the food was amazing as well, big portions, super tasty, flavorful and their own sauce adds a nice flavor to it.
Highly recommend to any and everyone, Def must try. Come hungry cause their portions are pretty big, definitely worth the price!!“

Everything fresh and fast. Stopped in to pick up a couple burritos and the chicken grill salad. Batch of fresh chips and house salsa, excellent.

I got them doordashed and they were still so hot, double wrapped with a soft corn shell so they didn’t get soggy, and then individually wrapped in tin foil. “I did Texas Taco in Sayville and jad their food truck the summer prior to COVID hit and it was great! They pulled right up to house for a few hours, you can pick from different plan options and prices. If I remember correctly I think I picked an option that had up to 40 people even though I had 30 to be safe incase anyone else extra stopped by. We picked out some menu items with the owner ahead of time to be served. We set a time slot( thenowner came with truck like an hour early to prep food and get ready ahead if my start time and each guest was able to go back and forth to the truck as many times as they wanted within the few hours the truck was hired to be here. Great service( the owner and one other guy worked the truck the whole time they were here) everything made to order fresh and very good. Nothing but compliments from all my guests that day. I tipped at end and even tho I did a final tip some guests were so impressed a few threw them a few bucks during one of their many trips to the truck in my driveway that day too, even though i said I tipped they were so satisfied they wanted to top a few dollars too. It was deeelish!“

The decor screams authentic and fiesta, the servers are all very friendly and helpful, and we love the menu!

There is something for everyone, our favorites are the fajitas and the enchiladas. There’s even a kids menu so our little guys can enjoy the night out with us.

Drinks are always great and the prices won’t disappoint either.

“Even though our son is a professional chef and we think of ourselves as "foodies," we have only limited experience with Caribbean cuisine. That's going to change, because we will absolutely go back to Taino's to explore more of the menu. We went around 6-ish on a Monday night to celebrate my birthday, and the only other patrons were at the bar. They appeared to be regulars, and the vibe was warm and casual. Coconut shrimp is one of my guilty pleasures and I order it every time I see it on a menu. Tainos' was quite possibly the best I've ever had: enormous shrimp coated in batter and flaked coconut, fried to crispy perfection and served with a to-die-for coconut dipping sauce. I'm also a skirt steak junkie, so ordered the Churrasco al la Parrilla which is served with a large serving of rice, bowl of red beans and chimichurri sauce, all presented beautifully, complete with an orchid. I was so full from the shrimp, I took nearly all of my entree home. Our lovely waitress (also the bartender) packed up my leftovers so they were just as attractive and appetizing the next day. Everything, including the steak, reheated perfectly. Granted, at my age I have a small appetite, but I'll be finishing the second (!) half of my steak, rice and beans tonight (night #3). Our son ordered the chicken Canasta de Platano (plantain 'baskets') appetizer and grudgingly gave me only a tiny (delicious) taste. Husband ordered fried cheese, and ate a whole piece even before I could take a photo. Again, I was allowed only one bite, but know I'll order my own the next time we're there. He also ordered the skirt steak, but our son tried the Colombian platter (steak, avocado, pork cracklings, fried egg, rice and more), which he loved. He gave me the sweet corn cakes which I devoured. Can't wait to try "mofungo," which seems to be a signature dish. The oxtails look fabulous, too.“
