“A five-star experience at The Green Gem in Smithtown. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and authentic, and you can see that every dish is made completely from scratch in front of you. The flavors stood out in every bite, especially the chicken and steak tacos, zucchini pupusa, and fajitas.

This is a wonderful family-owned spot with genuinely kind people The restaurant itself was very clean and well kept, they wiped the grill down each time they made a dish and use gloves. The portions were generous, and everything was so delicious that we left completely stuffed and I still have enough for lunch the next day. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and freshness of the food. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. “Tried this for the first time tonight with my boyfriend and it was truly great. The food all tasted so fresh, it wasnt greasy, service was quick and the staff were all super friendly. I got the chimichangas and they had a nice crunchy outside and all the toppings were so good. Im surprised the place isnt busier on a Saturday, but no wait was nice. Maybe a more updated exterior would make it feel more inviting - i will say, thats part of what took me so long to try it. Will definitely be going back.“

We ate outside in the enclosed garden patio thats beautiful with a dwarf tree and multi-urn step style water fountain. Dangling mirrored reflectors overhead on stringed lights keep birds away. Mexican music plays on the outdoor speaker system. Our table was visited by a mariachi suited mature guitarist that mesmerized my 22-month old grandson! Reasonably priced menu, will definitely be back!“

“Simply the best taco spot in the area for true street-style tacos. I used to drive all the way to Queens to get tacos like these, and now I’ve found this gem just 2 minutes from home.

I ordered the birria tacos and they were absolutely amazing. The meat quality was excellent and the portions were very generous. The birria consommé was perfectly seasoned and came with a grilled jalapeño that added the perfect touch. The tacos also came with fries, and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food.

I also tried the chorizo tostadas, and once again the portion size and flavor were incredible. The condiments were fresh and well balanced, and those came with fries too. There was so much food that it was easily enough for two people.

I can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious street-style tacos, this is the spot.“

“This place is absolutely amazing. I came in just to grab a quick bite to eat but everything looks so delicious.

I don't know what they call it but I tried a cactus leaf and it was delicious. It has such a flavor that is similar to I guess an artichoke but also very different at the exact same time.

I had two chicken tacos and one chorizo. I love the fact that they have a bar where you can add as much salsa and toppings as you want.

So delicious.

The place is so clean and spotless it's not even funny. Guys behind the counter are awesome and I already be back.“

Steak burrito was more than enough for one, and packed with flavor.

“We discovered this little neighborhood gem completely by accident and let me tell you the food was GREAT! We had plenty of chips, red and green salsa.. We tried the pastore and carne asada tacos which were absolutely great FANTASTIC MENU and if you want “real deal” authentic mexican food. THIS is THE place. Right down the street too! Wonderful discovery!! We thought this was a small ethnic grocery store and were totally blown sway!! Staff is super friendly and attentive too!! Wonderful joint!!!“

“Amazing first time experience!! Parking was accessible at 5pm. Don't skip on table side guacamole!! I was able to order a strawberry mocktail margarita. Music was amazing. “Had the pleasure of eating at the Greenport location. Two of my HS girlfriends and myself on moderately busy on Sunday (1012/24) at about 5:30. A young waiter named Brian was our server. We first ordered drinks, mine was the margarita with the pomegranate swirl. So delicious!! Refreshing and frosty! We shared the Mexican Street corn and the three dips with chips, which were freshly made. So fabulous! So tasty. The salsa, guacamole and queso were just perfect, each different but delicious!! The corn was sweet and flavorful. I had three tacos in hard shells. Fried chicken, fried shrimp and the marinated steak. Each one was different and very fresh. My one friend, is a vegetarian and the other is gluten intolerant BUT! They each found many yummy choices! I’ve been trying to get to this restaurant for several years, and finally the planets aligned! Brian was well trained, patient and informative with a good humor. The interior is bright, festive and clean. So much food, I could not finish all of it. And!! the restroom was clean! You should be very proud of this business! We will be back! Thank you!!“

The el pastor taco was enough to make me close my eyes and block out the world. It was by far the most amazing taco I’ve ever had in my life. The octopus was also out of this world. They don’t even greet you — they just shout “Next!!” It would be much better if, instead of yelling out numbers like 3025 or 3023, they actually brought the food to the table (especially when the restaurant is basically empty). That said, the food itself is excellent and I definitely recommend it.“

“I brought a small group of developmentally disabled adults to Moe's in Centereach for dinner. The staff were patient with them and helpful too . All of the food was good. There was a nice variety of drinks from the Coke Freestyle machine, plus a machine for iced tea, which I like.“

“I stumbled upon this place and I'm glad I did it's not the nicest part of coram but don't let that scare you off the food was made fresh the cook was fantastic and helped me choose because I told him I'm Irish and not familiar with Spanish food only taco bell fast food. He made me delicious mouth watering FRESH chicken tacos. I'm looking forward to the next meal he makes me. Give them a try I'm so glad I did and with taco bell opening in coram it would be a shame if you didn't try this place and only ate taco bell you would be missing out on something ?“
