“This is an absolute local experience. It has 3 bar seats and a loud friendly funny guy taking orders. I came here for the congee which was basic but so flavorful and homey. I got the noodles which they are known for and they were outstanding! Chewy, umami and not the prettiest dish. I’ll sacrifice looks for flavor any day! I works say you must be a Sami brave eager to try it but it’s a place I’ll definitely crave in the future!“

“These five skewers: arguably the best thing I've eaten in this city for under $15. The highlight are the mushroom / scallops wrapped in bacon, grilled over coals... For $2.50?! Pinch me, I'm dreaming
It's a grungy corner after dark, but right above the Grant St subway station.“

“I went to a lot of restaurants in New York that were much fancier than this cart but this was my favorite food of the day. The cheong fun was gooey and had qq and a decent amount of meat. For $5 for the large, it was such a deal and fed three of us as a snack. I would go back in a heartbeat and order more. Wish we had this in Chinatown in Houston.“

“Some of the best halal food I’ve ever had. My go to, regular spot (3x a week or more): he’s fast, very friendly, and very affordable, and I couldn’t ask for more. You aren’t going to get this quality, friendliness, or prices at any other place. You need to make a stop and try his food and meet him. 5/5 hands down“

“Located in front of Paris Baguette, the BBQ truck has some of the best skewers I've ever tried. They transport you to the heart of Xinjiang with its local flavors, grilled in front of you. My two favorites were the lamb and beef skewers, and the chicken skewers were also very delicious.“

“We saw the hype online and had to try this during our visit to Flushing, but it was disappointing. I think we are just not fans of this type of jian bing. Maybe those who really like jian bing would love this place. We are glad we gave it a try. It was $6 for one jian bing.“

“There is no lack of Souvlaki restaurants in NYC, let alone Astoria, but Christos Souvlaki Stand stands out.
Your basic choices (as I understand them) are- skewer, sandwich, or platter. Then you choose chicken or pork. While your order is being assembled, a couple of additional questions: hot sauce (say yes, it’s not that hot), BBQ sauce (say yes, it’s not what you think), and “everything”? (Also say yes, as this includes Tatziki, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes.
I ordered a fantastic pork souvlaki sandwich (with all of the above). The pork had just the right amount of char and smoke from their natural charcoal, but it was still juicy and tender. The fresh pita became a sponge for all the delicious juice that needed a home before my belly. I had to take it home, but you can see its ample size. In total, I think it was $7!
If you need to get on the subway to come here, do it. It’s totally worth it.“

“I am a chicken girl and can completely without reservation recommend any and all chicken dishes and sandwiches on the menu. I have had them all over and over. Also the French fries and green salad. They are my go to usually twice a week.Believe the listed menu needs to be updated price wise but still the best deals in town. A HuGE plus you have the Richard Tucker (google him) Park right across the street for seating. Linda“

“The auntie at this cart pays attention to the details and does not skimp on the sauce, she used a scissor to make small openings in the noodle for the sauce to seep through to the bottom, giving a nice coating of sauce to every part of the noodles instead of letting most of the sauce pile up on top. Prices are reasonable as well!“

“Been to so many smoothie places asking for #21 the health shake but nobody can do it like he does it, he’s very nice and understanding as well as quick with making your drink. I’ve experienced others who don’t pay attention to my instructions for the order or who take a while but he never fails to deliver the best smoothies quick. Definitely a must visit for great smoothies, wouldn’t recommend any other spot.“

“Had to find a new place to eat halal after a bad experience at the 2nd Ave halal guys. The food here was way better and cheaper. You can't go wrong with Farook's. Also he provides a a loyalty card that gets you a free meal after 10 purchases. If you like spicy I recommend the green sauce and red sauce.“

“This kind lady is iconic and a Chinatown staple in my eyes! Growing up here, I always look out (or hear her) for her advertising to get the best zong in the neighborhood. She sells different kinds but I like her Taiwanese and Shanghai ones the most (there’s also an English menu that details what’s inside) She’s super sweet and stays out late til about 7-8 in front of grand street station just to sell her zong so make sure to support her business!“

“A gentleman was outside the truck assisting with ordering and payment. We ordered quesadillas (middle picture) & a tlacoyo (1st picture). He let us know they have different cook times and asked if we wanted everything served together or as it was ready. Food was great! Not too heavy or greasy. The quesadillas are handmade tortillas that are thin, light but pliable and filled with a small amount of cheese and your choice of filling. They are topped with crispy, refreshing lettuce and crema with both green or red salsa on the side. The tlacoyo was a thicker tortilla with melted cheese and filling inside and again topped with refreshing lettuce and crema and salsa on the side. We sat on the side where stools are provided. Great food and friendly service.“

“Love that the protein has veggies rather than the protein just by itself. Def more flavorful and not as dry as you'll find it on other halal carts (where you may heavily rely on the white sauce to deal with the dryness). Nice guy too, and if you want more or less veg just let him know.“

“This was my first flushing BBQ cart and I can definitely say I am now hooked and will be trying others. I had just left Izakaya Nana and Jue Wei cart's skewers are imo on par with those of expensive restaurants. The menu was STILL so extensive at near closing time (12:30 AM). $2 per skewer was so reasonably priced. The level of spice and smoky flavor was pretty much spot on to what you would get in China. If it's late at night, park on Prince St as there were nosy traffic cops snooping around 39th Ave.“

“I have had hundreds of breakfast sandwiches all throughout the city and the Breakfast Burrito from Uri’s is without a doubt the best. Perfect flavor and texture combination, manages to hold up if you aren’t eating it for a bit (doesn’t get watery). Plus the people who work there are super friendly. An absolute staple of the UES“

“Love it! I had Lengua, El Pastor, spicy pork, they all tasted great and authentic street tacos! I didn’t care about the service, the lady was kinda delayed serving we even without people waiting. Anyway I was there for the taste and that ain’t changing my desire eating there.“

“My GUY. I would take a bullet for this man. The biryani is top notch, prepared quickly but with love and tenderness. He warned me the red sauce was spicy and he was not wrong, heed his warning.
Vegetarian options: He doesn't always have veggie biryani available but I'm a big fan of the falafel biryani.“

“I sadly didn't get to eat here. I was lost without my phone and a person who worked there helped me, like we were best friends. He handed me his phone so I could write down directions, without worry, and was incredibly kind to me. If the food is half as good as the people who work there, you should check this place out! :) thank you for helping me and being a good person. It means more than I can say and I wish you health, happiness, and great success. :)“

“One of the best halal food carts! Rice and chicken are well made and cooked alongside their lamb. I have tried many halal carts but this is one of the few carts whose food is really good. Been coming here for many years and their quality has remained the same. You won't be disappointed!“

“Came with my boyfriend whos been here multiple times and said it was delicious, and he wasn’t wrong. We got chicken, squid, chinese sausage, ricecake, shrimp, and beef skewers that were ALL amazing. HIGHLY recommend the spicy powder on any skewer you order. I have low tolerance for spice, but it was just a small kick for a couple seconds. I will be coming here way more often, I found my favorite food spot for late night snacks.“

“Little stand located on the corner of Mulberry Street and Canal Street, is home to the most affordable and yummiest mini sweet cakes. Definitely recommend coming here if you are in the mood for a light snack and if you have $2 on you (15 of these mini vanilla cakes are only $1.50)I got the plain mini vanilla cakes because I was not in the mood to make a mess, but they do offer various toppings: condensed milk, honey coconut, peanut butter, chocolate syrup and nutella for an additional dollar.“
“A street cart. with a huge cult following, that's probably not all that cult anymore. It's a tourist spot. But you still see locals like cabbies getting their food here. This place is legit. I had the lamb platter with rice. Their hot sauce is VERY HOT! A little bit goes a long way. And I like spicy stuff but this hot sauce will blow your mind! Their "white sauce' helps to quell the heat. So do the smart move and get extra white sauce if you go for the hot sauce. I hate waiting on lines. But some of my out-of-town friends were in for a visit and wanted to try it. It did not disappoint!“

“Pending the consumption of food…consumed the food… Gooood mother of Christ and the holy bible dipped in holy water I felt like a pig and I loved every bit of it! This should be illegal. I got the Carolina burger, very good! The ONLY complaint is that it has quite a bit of sauce for my liking, not all the burgers are like that. Home made fries from fries! There’s great boat/rv parking on the left side along the fence, maybe enough for two maybe three. Can’t wait to see the growth of this place keep up the good work y’all🤙🏼“

“I stumble across this Halal cart one day when I was grabbing some grocery from Whole Foods. I am from out of state. This halal truck has better food than the halal brothers famous halal cart on 6th ave. Since coming across this cart, when ever I am traveling to NYC and pass thru this area, I grab a platter. My only disappointment is the cart does not seem to be there everyday. So it can be a hit or miss some days. If anyone knows where this cart is on days he is not outside of whole foods, please share!“
