A friend and I went to order coffee at the shop next door and were told to go to this location for a drink. In the entire restaurant there was one single table taken besides ours. Despite the emptiness the waiter told us that we needed to leave if we didn’t order a full on meal despite the fact no one was there. I had a meeting in the neighborhood and this looked like a good place to meet up with a colleague beforehand for a little prep. The place was empty. I ordered a tea. When I pulled out my laptop to review notes I was told there were no outlets in the restaurant for customers, intentionally. Not unusual for a cafe to discourage use of laptops but there was a weird level of aggression from the server. If I could give them no stars I would. I went in to eat and asked if this bartender if he could tell me where the restroom was first. (For context, there was only one person in the restaurant at the bar. ONE.) He tells me I would have to pay first. I hadn't even got a chance to order food! Pay for what?!
