“Neighborhood gem. Great decor, homey, comfortable but well appointed. I have dined here alone and with family, both times it was a good atmosphere. GM Michael is really good and runs a good staff. The food is delicious- good for all types of diet restrictions. Fresh ingredients well prepared. Last but not least also great cocktails. Host and server were friendly and attentive. I will for sure be coming back here!“

“The service here is really the standout. Every single bartender is friendly, and there are always more than enough staff to help. It really shines through! They do samples, and small pours which is great.
As a beer snob, I really wish they had some better options though. With 12+ taps i find that only 4-5 are really something special with the rest being average at best. If they can up the options just a little it would be a 5 star bar.“

“We visited Pearl Street for the third time in a year and it somehow keeps getting better. We have always thought it was a great restaurant, but this visit truly stood out. The food was fun, creative, and incredibly tasty, and the service was warm and welcoming.

We did the chef’s tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was a complete no brainer. Every course was excellent and thoughtfully paired. Easily one of the best dining experiences we have had in years. Do not overthink it. Just go. A solid 10 out of 10. We will be back very soon. Thank you!!!“

“The food here is incredible - some of the best Japanese food in Brooklyn. However, the service can be quite slow depending on the night and the menus are a bit complicated to understand at first. There is a lot going on in the menu and the formatting is not consistent which leads to a lot of back & forth when navigating the menu.

The first time I visited last year there were absolutely no issues and I had a fantastic experience. However when I visited again a few weeks ago, I had to wait over 20-30 minutes just to place my food order and another 15-20 minutes for the food to arrive (but this is understandable given it is a small kitchen dealing with many orders).

The restaurant was busy but there were still several empty tables, but there was only 1 server. The server helped me to my seat quickly, but then started cleaning and doing other random tasks and chatting with others for a long time before even coming to me to ask me what I would like to order. Maybe it was just busier night than usual or this server was a new hire, but it was quite frustrating having to sit and wait for so long before even getting to place my order. The server seemed to be more concerned with cleaning tables for potential customers (who did not even show up) instead of the paying customer waiting right in front of him for so long. I even saw another customer literally have to get up from her table and walk up to the server to ask him to come to their table and place their order.

Anyways, the food was still really incredible and I had no issues once it came out, but the server seems to have completely different priorities instead of the paying customers who are actually at the restaurant. Maybe if he had some more assistance or if I came on another slow night he would not be so unfocused. But to his credit, he was apologetic about the wait at the end once I paid my bill.

I would definitely recommend the food here (the Veg Croquette Curry, Fried Garlic Chicken, and Chilled Ramen were fantastic), but this is not a place for a casual dinner as you will likely spend over an hour here.“

“We were able to sit down right away at the bar and received excellent service. The staff is incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. And the food was soooo good. The chop salad, burger, vinegar chicken and brownie sundae all tasted amazing. Everything tied together to make a worth while experience. We will be coming back!“

“(Nov 2014) Uber cool high tech mod fitout and no shortage of opinionated beer nerds (complete with obligatory cult brewery t-shirts). Even at 2pm on a Sunday arvo. Doesn’t quite have the warm of a traditional US bar but still pretty friendly. Very international list with a focus on left of centre. Pricing on the high side but reflects the quality of the beers. Served via cabernet glasses - a nice touch. I really grew to like the place and they use a small space well. Can I say it reminds me of Two Row in Melbourne? And....btw....the only other bar I have ever seen where punters are punching out tasting notes!“

“Burger and fries are consistently great. I like that they don't add any over-the-top ingredients or portions that I feel some burger places use as a schtick. Service is prompt and courteous. The stools and narrow plank tables are minorly uncomfortable but I'm just visiting. Probably not easy to post up with a stroller.“

“The addition of Peeps kitchen vastly improves the vibe. Not only does it have the most public pinball machines in Brooklyn it’s now also one of the few pinball bars that also has food. A downside is the bar is a little lackluster. The tap beers are $10 with limited cocktail options as far as I’m aware. All the machines are very well maintained and they regularly have the newest games on cycle. Lots of seating and TVs if you just want to hang out. The chicken was awesome as well.“

“I called six different places after work, trying to find a place that was still open to have dinner- before going home after a very long 16 hour day. This place was still open, and the tacos were so amazing. The service was great and the food was extremely reasonably priced! I didn’t even care what kind of day I had, because it ended with great food and a great drink.“

“I was here recently with a friend during Liberty playoffs and when we arrived all the TVs had baseball on. My friend, thinking there was no way they’d change one for us, asked the bartender if there was anywhere around showing the Liberty game. He immediately hopped to, got the game turned on for us, was extremely accommodating and kind when we thought we might get the side eye. “Honestly I was hoping for more from this place from what I’ve seen on social media, at least when it comes to the food. This is purely a review on the all you can eat taco Tuesday and honestly it was a little underwhelming. The only taco I actually enjoyed was the carnitas and pork doesn’t really sit well with me 😀. “Great location of a popular brewery. It was a treat to visit this location when I was visiting. I was treated to the same chill vibe you can always expect from other half, with tons of cute doggies. They had their standard menu of beers along with canned cocktails and special cocktails for the non beer drinkers. It wasn’t huge inside but the overflow of guests could find more seating outside. Great view of the river and some interesting people watching at domino park rounded out the afternoon.“

“Beer Karma is one of the best spots for craft beer in NYC. This cozy bar has it all: a top-notch selection, a welcoming vibe, and some of the best staff in town.

The small staff: Sergio and Emily and owner Dan (who's often behind the bar himself) are amazing. They know their beer inside out and somehow seem to remember everyone's names.

The bar hosts weekly 5k-ish runs on Monday nights featuring awesome beer specials and free pizza for all runners. The regular crew is everyone from avid marathoners training for their next race to casual joggers.

The draft beer list is fantastic and diverse, featuring everything from hype IPAs to less common gems like dark milds, obscure-style lagers, and cream ales. They’re always rotating in something new and different, so there’s always a reason to come back.

Their coolers are also packed with the latest cans from NYC area breweries, available to enjoy at the bar or take home. Plus, if you’re not drinking alcohol, they have a great range of non-alcoholic options like hopped seltzers, Liquid Death cans, and non-alcoholic beers.

You can bring your own food and the Birria-Landia food truck across the street is a must if you're in the area.
