“We went with another couple this time so there were more items ordered. I had the Mimosa Salad again and also repeated my entree having the Parledelle Bosca with Mushrooms. Hubby had a special, which included Filet Mignon, Lobster Tails and Prawns. Our friends had a Snapper special and Crab cakes. Everyone loved the food. The only thing we noticed is that those who had the Calamari and the salads felt like they tasted a little too much salt. We believe the salads may have been that way due to the strong cheeses in them.The service was very good as usual. Jason seems to be the head waiter. He loves what he does and knows so much about the food and the drinks. He is very accommodating and wants everyone to be happy. He has an over the top personality which can be fun, but for some may be a little too much. All worth the visit. “When you travel, you seek to find outstanding restaurants. Sometimes you win, other times, you don't. The Hudson House is a great find, a winner at every turn! From our initial greeting by the owner, Matt, to the great staff who didn't miss a beat, to the most critical part, the food, there wasn't a moment of regret. We started with a couple of tables shares. We had cheese plate with 3 cheeses, homemade fig jam to die for, fresh thinly sliced honeycrisp apples, delicious grapes, and an oil-infused crustini. Perfect start, followed by the burrata and pumpkin seed salad with carmelized pears and sweet potato chunks. I didn't think it could get better after this. I tried the sweet potato and fennel soup, very warm and hearty on a cold night, and the taste was just as I hoped! A beet and farro salad with radishes hit the mark! My partner had a fresh halibut that was cooked to perfection, served on ramen noodles and baby bok choy, with an array of fresh mushrooms, with a gentle but flavorful broth, but not enough to be called soup. To me, one of the best fish dishes I've tasted in a long time. Our guests, the wedding couple, ordered duck breast confit, and hanger steak. The duck, one of her favorites, was tender, most, cooked properly and seasoned well. It was a hit with her and her mother. The hanger steak was the choice of the groom, a very picky eater. He couldn't stop reaching about how amazing it was! Sadly, we were so full, we couldn't eat dessert. All the desserts are homemade by the owner, and they sounded unbelievable. But I'll have to return another time to speak to them. Finally, ask to sit in the jail cell. The pictures tell only some of the story. It's a wine cellar, a hidden romantic getaway, a reprise of days long gone. Or have a seat at the bar with the locals. Or just come and see the beautiful tin ceiling and walls. No matter what you do here, you won't be disappointed.“

“My husband and I went here on Saturday night, and loved it! There was not one negative thing about our experience, from calling to make a reservation and speaking with a personable, friendly staff member, to when we left feeling like regulars. The bartenders/servers were great; they were knowledgeable and made recommendations on both wine and beer we really loved and the portions were generous. The atmosphere couldn’t be beat and we will be back for sure!“

“I went over to the Garage to celebrate my friends birthday. There are old school arcade games that you and friends can enjoy while ordering drinks. The staff is really friendly and easy going, I definitely recommend visiting if you're in Brooklyn and you're looking for a good time.“

“New ownership and staff took over around 2021...still continuing what they do best with his their roasted chicken over charcoal...the only difference vs the past is that the sides( like chips/fries and rice ) is not included...also recommend majority of their seafood dishes, and my favorite " Gambas a Mozambique ", which are huge Tiger Praws...space in limited to dine in, but majority of ppl do take out as well...staff is great and have a caipirinha as well( many flavors offered )“

“I like this place! Has a vibrant decor and the staff is very friendly. Lots of good teams on the menu and nothing disappointed. Drinks were reasonably priced and so was the food. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and I would definitely go back!!!“

“LOVEEEE this place! Went by on a Saturday around 6pm and they had a live DJ playing Hip-Hop, Caribbean, and Spanish music. The bartender, Dandre, greeted me with a huge smile and a pleasantly upbeat attitude. We spoke at the bar the entire time and he made sure I was consistently attended to. I ordered a fishbowl, which was not only delicious, but worth every penny! I also got the Cajun low country boil extra hot. It was well seasoned but very spicy, so if you don’t like spicy I recommend getting the medium level.(BONUS) The food was delivered on a robot!Overall 10/10 experience. It was such a vibe I stayed even after my food was done to enjoy the music some more. Dandre is the best bartender/server make sure to request him when you visit!“

“Everything I ate from the HV Restaurant Week menu was very delicious (onion soup/pork loin/risotto/crepe) . My friend had the steak au poivre off the regular menu, pinot noir, frites, brownie, double espresso and enjoyed all of it. My decaf cappuchino was perfect as well.
