“This place rules. My mother, cousin and I were on a road trip from Boston to Philly. I had eaten here about 7 years ago. It was outstanding then, it is outstanding now. But also, I need to be clear, you need to shift your expectations. This is an experience that’s all about the food, not the ambiance. \n\nIf you can speak Spanish it’s a major plus. Also, it’s cash only. The women’s bathroom is broken. The menu has many misspellings. The food might take longer than a more traditional Diner experience. There may be some drunks at the bar nursing their beers. \n\nNow, with that out of the way, you need to understand how incredibly good this food is, and how wonderfully friendly the patrons and staff are. My mother is 76 with sophisticated taste. I think she’s eaten in a dozen countries this year. At one point she turned to me and said “this is the best steak I’ve eaten in months”. My cousin, who is gluten free and just got back from Thailand said “all I wanted was some quality plantains, and these exceeded all of my expectations”. The house made hot sauce was nuclear good. Everything was not just good, but outstanding. One of the guys at the bar selected about an hour of Mariachi music that was new to me, but perfect for the setting. There was some dancing. The guys at the bar wanted to know how we found this place, and what we thought of it. Very welcoming. \n\nI love how some immigrant families are buying old diners and bringing new tastes to their menus. If this place had more customers I’m sure they’d put some money back into the business. If not, I just don’t care. This place is wonderful, and with tip and drinks our meal was $46. \n\nMeanwhile, on a random Saturday in June we walked away all saying that this made a family road trip memorable and delicious.“

“Blueberry pancakes were delicious, fluffy but edges were still crispy! My berry smoothie(modified the oj for almond milk) wasn't as good as the first time I had it, wasn't cold enough or as sweet but ok. I enjoyed my Chipotle omelet. Great service, staff are friendly and welcoming which as started to make it my go to breakfast/brunch spot.“

“Above all this new owner created a new atmosphere that seems very charming and comfortable. For my time here I received chocolate chip pancakes(a stack of four) w/ 2 hash browns and they were very tasty and filling. The chocolate pancakes weren’t too sweet but very carb heavy. I got a crazy potato with a cheese stick. It wasn’t dry nor too moist, the softest part was definitely the inside with the cheese. I also got a sunshine slush and a mango slush. The sunshine was a mango and strawberry mix with the same flavored bubbles and some small jelly cubes that were a happy surprise. The mango slush is much more recommended since it wasn’t too sweet and would relate more towards a frozen agua Fresca so very refreshing and light.

“We have been going here for years and their food is really really good! They are always so friendly and we always have great fast service! Their grilled octopus is a special appetizer and the portion is so big that you can have it as your entree. They have great burgers too! I highly recommend them!“

“I had the three sliders this time. They were very good. I wish they had asked me if I wanted cheese on all three. They only had cheese on one. But that's minor. The taste was wonderful. The fries were crispy. And our waiter was wonderful. Kept checking on us. I really like this diner so when I'm down County I try to stop in for something to eat. Definitely recommend this diner“

“The food was good the waiter was good not a lot of tables but just enough. You can hear your conversation so it’s very comfortable. I had the turkey bacon and turkey sausage with scramble eggs and an English muffin a bacon egg and cheese was also ordered which was also tasty. Great breakfast.“

“Overall, Haiku is pretty good, they are consistent and I like them. To my understanding, there are 3 locations around me including the White Plains, Scarsdale and Bronxville locations. I have found that the Bronxville location ONLY charges me for a lesser substititution. I ordered a sushi roll and opted out of TUNA for a substitution that is cheaper in price, and I was charged a fee, again, only at this location, as I have done this at the White Plains/Scarsdale locations and no additional fee was charged. I cannot see why I was charged a fee, like I said, the replacement that I opted for is lesser in price than tuna and I believe the sushi is made fresh everytime, so I would say it was an INCONVENIENCE fee, but in this instance, I don't know if that can be applied, but who knows. Again, only at this location. Just a heads up for fellow customers.“

Quintessential "diner" vibe, varied menu as well as yummy baked goods for take out in a case up front, friendly and efficient service, loved this place! Food was hot, fresh, and delicious (among us, we had some version of omelet, quesadilla, sandwich, wrap) Wish I lived nearby - would go more often :)“

“First of all, I have been coming to this diner for years. It is a great diner that we as a community need. After Covid, some of our community restaurants did not make it, but this one did & I am so grateful! I understand it has been difficult for them, but I’m happy to see that they’re open every day again! I gave it three stars for the atmosphere because they need to do some updates, and they need to do some rearranging, but everything else was great. Service was very prompt and professional. Food was delicious as always!“
