Exactly what you expect when you picture a diner. No frills, cheap, and exceptionally average food. It gets the job done, with the kind of gritty atmosphere you’d expect from a place that’s been serving neighborhood regulars for years.

I had the cheeseburger, while the person next to me was chowing down on chicken parm and spaghetti. The cheeseburger tasted like it came straight out of the freezer. It reminded me of the kind I used to get at the bowling alley as a kid.

10/10 recommend. Will return.“

“Food was so yummy, interior was gorgeous and staff was amazing. I literally turned to my husband and told him “this is the kinda service I like” thoughtful friendly warm bartenders who spark convo, and answer every question. Such a good atmosphere and good music. Every song I was like…. Omg…. Love that song. I didn’t know what to expect, I try to avoid spots with bars or interiors that are overly beautiful when I’m hangry lol. I find the food usually doesn’t hit, since some places typically focus more on drinks, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The food was so thoughtfully made. I had the best BLT, small details in prep, like perfectly shredded lettuce and sliced tomato’s really can make or break a sandwich. My husband loved his burger and the fries were so crispy and good. Typical city prices, and the atmosphere makes you wanna stay awhile so it’s worth it to me. Beautiful during the day but next time im gonna come later in the day I can enjoy the deep rich atmosphere they carefully curated. So so beautiful.“

“I really enjoyed this place. It has some retro charm. It even had a Photos booth and the food was good. The desserts were amazing. Largest milkshake I’ve ever seen in person and the staff was really nice and friendly and Alfredo the manager was really good guy.“

I was tired of waking and just wanted a diner, not far from where I was...Joe Jr. Popped up on Google maps and I was so happy it did. It was quiet, quaint and old skool diner. They had the world cup on it was perfect. A bacon double cheeseburger with onion rings and lemonade hit the spot. Absolutely Perfect!“

“The food and service here are amazing. I can confidently say that I’ve never had a bad experience coming here. The food is great, the drinks are great, and everything is reasonably priced.

I highly recommend the huevos con chorizo if you come to brunch here. Shout out to the waitress and bartender that were serving me & my wife during the Norway vs England game. They were very attentive and friendly while we were watching the games (didn’t catch their names unfortunately).“

“Instantly became my favorite diner spot in NYC on first visit. Solid coffee. Breakfast burritos were my favorite! Also ordered Parmesan truffle fries and lemon ricotta pancakes that were decent, minus the wow factor. Scrambled eggs were perfect.

There is some outside seating (limited). The menu is pretty extensive and something for everyone. The service was quick! recommend 100%“

“Today June 24th I had lunch here with a friend. It was my first time. Passed this cafe but never tried it. Well the food was delicious, prices reasonable and the waitress Eloise was delightful! I had vegetable quesadella. My friend had an egg white vegetable omelet with hash browns. The portions are generous! Our waitress Eloise made the dining experience here pleasurable. It quickly turned into wine, free bread, and the best pappardelle bolognese I've had (and priced so well at $18 for fresh pasta). It’s only about a 6-minute walk from Golden Diner, and we were able to sit down, stay warm, and enjoy good food and coffee while we waited. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and exactly what we needed. Definitely glad we came here.“
