“We visited on a Sunday morning, and although the restaurant was quite busy, we were seated promptly and our orders were taken without delay. I ordered the French toast with eggs, and the meal was excellent. The prices were very reasonable, and the quality of the food exceeded expectations. I will definitely be returning, and this restaurant will become a regular spot for me.“

“Perhaps the most classic New York diner left??? Easy to get into, good food, good pricing, quick service. My favorite spot in Ridgewood! They have been going strong since the 1980s for good reason. I typically get the avocado / tomato Benedict but their expansive menu has …..basically everything you would need at a diner. GO!!!“

“Food so good I forgot to take pictures. Had their corn nuggets, Kahuna burger, and fries. Best Burger in the neighborhood. Somehow they made a burger taste like being at home while away on Father's day. Stop by this place for some food that's beyond just Tasty!“

Exactly what you expect when you picture a diner. No frills, cheap, and exceptionally average food. It gets the job done, with the kind of gritty atmosphere you’d expect from a place that’s been serving neighborhood regulars for years.

I had the cheeseburger, while the person next to me was chowing down on chicken parm and spaghetti. The cheeseburger tasted like it came straight out of the freezer. It reminded me of the kind I used to get at the bowling alley as a kid.

10/10 recommend. Will return.“

“Food was so yummy, interior was gorgeous and staff was amazing. I literally turned to my husband and told him “this is the kinda service I like” thoughtful friendly warm bartenders who spark convo, and answer every question. Such a good atmosphere and good music. Every song I was like…. Omg…. Love that song. I didn’t know what to expect, I try to avoid spots with bars or interiors that are overly beautiful when I’m hangry lol. I find the food usually doesn’t hit, since some places typically focus more on drinks, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The food was so thoughtfully made. I had the best BLT, small details in prep, like perfectly shredded lettuce and sliced tomato’s really can make or break a sandwich. My husband loved his burger and the fries were so crispy and good. Typical city prices, and the atmosphere makes you wanna stay awhile so it’s worth it to me. Beautiful during the day but next time im gonna come later in the day I can enjoy the deep rich atmosphere they carefully curated. So so beautiful.“

“I really enjoyed this place. It has some retro charm. It even had a Photos booth and the food was good. The desserts were amazing. Largest milkshake I’ve ever seen in person and the staff was really nice and friendly and Alfredo the manager was really good guy.“

“directly around the corner of hotel 17, joe jr is not a hot spot or insta worthy eatery. it is jus a regular diner for everyone. diverse menu, affordable prices and a quality you’d miss at a regular fast food stop. you dont have to rush or push to get what you want.
if you wanna feel the true spirit of eating out in nyc.
dont stress yourself, ny has a lot to offer, and not everything that yells for attention is worth the effort, otherwise you d miss out on true nyc institutions.“

“The food and service here are amazing. I can confidently say that I’ve never had a bad experience coming here. The food is great, the drinks are great, and everything is reasonably priced.

I highly recommend the huevos con chorizo if you come to brunch here. Shout out to the waitress and bartender that were serving me & my wife during the Norway vs England game. They were very attentive and friendly while we were watching the games (didn’t catch their names unfortunately).“

“Dishes packed with flavor and texture. My favorite was the Zorba, everything is high quality and balance of flavors. We got the blueberry pancake and it was fluffy and heavenly.

The ambiance of the place is perfect, with every detail thought through and music perfect to have as background noise. Loved it!“

I usually come during lunchtime and have always had a great experience but I went in tonight for dinner for the first time, it was the most unnecessarily rude service I've ever experienced in my life/20 years in hospitality. Bar manager seems really unhappy, which seemed to make it unpleasant for everyone within earshot- guests and co-workers.“

“Came here on a Saturday afternoon after seeing the pancakes and had to investigate for myself. I was dining solo, so grabbed a seat at the counter and ordered the three-stack blueberry pancakes with coffee. The pancakes looked fantastic and tasted even better, the blueberries are baked right into them, although I wouldn’t have complained about a little more blueberry sauce on top.

It was busy and lively, but the staff were friendly and the whole experience had that classic diner charm.“

“I didn’t expect a full blown broadway show experience in a restaurant! If you want show tunes and pop music served with a plate of great food then this is the place for you! Our server Brandi M. belted out a wicked version of The wizard and I! I ordered the BLT with avocado and waffle fries and my friend ordered the chicken and waffles. Both were delicious.“

“What a great little find. We were out and about near the Ballon Museum and found this gem. It is truly old school diner. There is limited seating (first come first served). There is some outside seating (limited). The menu is pretty extensive and something for everyone. The service was quick! recommend 100%“

“Would give 10 stars if I could! This diner has a huge menu of really tasty stuff, there’s something for everyone. The service is also great. But the best thing about it is the owner - he greets everyone warmly and gets to know you. You’ll walk in a stranger but you’ll walk out feeling like family. You can always count on Mr John to lift your spirits. We’ve only lived in the city for a month but this is already one of our regular spots.“

“We came to New York for a few days and had an amazing Brunch at Old John’s Diner. The coffee (an important factor!) was amazing, and the food delicious! Also the decoration is very beautiful. It quickly turned into wine, free bread, and the best pappardelle bolognese I've had (and priced so well at $18 for fresh pasta). The owner was so great, and I genuinely hope his business succeeds as much as he was so nice to me. Definitely worth a visit!“

“Stopped by Tria Bakery Cafe Diner while waiting out a 2-hour wait at Golden Diner. We were starving and didn’t want to stand around in the cold, and this place ended up being the perfect move. It’s only about a 6-minute walk from Golden Diner, and we were able to sit down, stay warm, and enjoy good food and coffee while we waited. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and exactly what we needed. Definitely glad we came here.“

Unfortunately the jerk chicken fell short for me. It was very dry. I also ordered a margarita that was quite sour and unbalanced.
