“Awesome brunch. Wait is really long on the weekend however and they only do walk-ins. Food came out slow and service left something to be desired but food mostly made up for it. I'd definitely try and come here more often if I lived closer and it wasn't as busy!“
“Happened upon this restaurant with friends, and what a great find it was! Food was very good. I had the Enchiladas with their special Mole sauce. Excellent. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. This will now be on my list of favorite restaurants to visit and recommend.“
“Great local diner. Good service and good food. They made sure to accommodate our requests for no pork items( got turkey bacon and chicken sausage). Good coffee as well. Close to a little strip mall and other shops and on the way to JFK. Come here for breakfast often. Only complaint is that the parking lot gets packed sometimes as place is often busy and it’s kind of difficult at times to pull out of the place as it’s small.“
“This was a happy accident for me. I booked this not realizing that it was a Vegan restaurant. Never having eaten vegan food before I was a bit apprehensive on whether I would enjoy....well I'm happy to say I not only enjoyed but LOVED the experience. How the heck you make a vegan bacon egg and cheese is beyond me but whatever magic they use is working. Delicious! Very cool vibe and decor and very friendly staff as a bonus.“
“This place has always had great food I have been eating here 20 plus years the weekend get super busy so be prepared to wait for a table they have the best lemonade around but if you're not in to sweet stuff like my wife don't get it or ask for less “
“I didn't get to take any photos but this was a great find for a late night meal. Have cash or Venmo app ready. We ordered tacos and burritos. Everything came out fresh and fast. Their chili sauce is fire and have just the right amount of heat. They ran out of horchata for me but I'll come back and try again!“
“My friends and I came in for a quick brunch and were very happy we did! The server was super friendly and efficient, and the food was so much better than expected. The menu items we got were simple, classic breakfast items, but between the eggs all being cooked perfectly and the wonderful surprise of the cinnamon Belgian waffles, it was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. It's very no-frills good food.“
“It’s an oasis in Canarsie Brooklyn. Much sweet or unsweetened juices and salads. Thank you Mellissa original, Mellisa’s sister number one and number two. You are all efficient business women and fine young ladies. This is the best American diner in the middle of hard working New Yorkers.“
“What a great experience!! Fun, energetic and great food!! George, the Owner, was polite, and he knew his clientele by name, service was great, the lady behind the counter was a machine!! Great Food, fresh Hollandaise sauce, nice portions and great atmosphere!! Will be back“
“I lived in this neighborhood for almost 10 years without noticing it until recently! I have to let you know that I fell in love with this place after the first Brunch I had with them on Jan2,2023! And then a few times after that . It's the cutest little spot with amazing food. This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts: the host made me feel welcomed. Even though they are very busy, everyone pay attention to your needs , always efficient and polite . delicious dishes: I enjoyed every single bite of the meal ! -Soup and pasta were so flavorful. -Best Buffalo wings I ever had -- so so crunchy outside, moist and tender inside AND BEST IF ALL , I am so grateful you put the sauce on the Side , so I can adjust the tangy and spicy taste depending on my preference -Cheeseburger grilled perfectly , so juicy and mouthwatering. -Waffle: mine was golden-brown in color, with a crispy outer texture and a soft interior. - grilled cheese sandwich : perfectly toasted slices stuffed with melting cheese ,It’s worth every single last crumb! and , extensive menu : breakfast, lunch and dinner menu , from comfort food to vegetarian options. They also offer wine , juices, coffee and tea So ,Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant , Highly recommend! I would definitely come back here again and again.“
“20240220::i love these small local diners. i got the burger(ok, premade), and pankakes(i love pankakes as much as i love burgers). an order of pasta and alfredo, it wasn't bad(took a while cause they had to make the pasta midday. at least its fresh. need to try their omlettes and home “
“I have been coming to George's for many years now whether it is for dine-in or take-out. I have always gotten fantastic service and great food. The staff is warm, welcoming and treat every customer with the utmost respect. The restaurant itself is very clean, even before our current COVID situation. They take this pandemic very seriously and they make sure that they follow all the protocols suggested by the CDC and our State Government. They have been in business for over 60 years and I hope that this institution will be around for another 60+ years. #supportlocal“
“Been a neighborhood coffee shop that we can always count on for fair price, good food , quick delivery with a smile. They don't forget anything in your order , add the utensils, napkins, salt pepper ketchup and drinks wrapped tight in cellophane so nothing is spilled! Will always be my favorite neighborhood coffee shop.“
“Ok so I first discovered Sal's in 1992, went to high school around the corner{Clara Barton). When I tell you I stopped every morning to get a BLTfor breakfast and a $2 dollar hero for lunch. Over the year I continued to support and they have yet to “
“I have been visit this diner from a very young age. I love it here and will continue to eat here. One of my favorites is the “Big Mess” it consist of potatoes, onions, green peppers, meat of your choice, eggs all mixed up in one dish. I also like the salmon hash over egg whites or eggs of your choice with home fries, french fries or grits. The only thing I will say is the coffee can be a little stronger coffee, kinda taste like water, but in this recession that we are in, I don’t expect the coffee to be like Starbucks.Highly recommend this place.“
“Union Street Cafe is an old school diner with an amazingly affordable menu of solid choices. CASH ONLY. Pancakes, egg sandwiches, burgers, turkey clubs, tuna melts, coffee, pastries all make the menu. It's a small place, mostly 4 top tables. Would be difficult to accommodate groups larger than that unless you came off peak. Ambiance is very casual and a little retro. Service was understandably a little frantic on a busy Saturday and very friendly. Staff is bilingual (Spanish).CASH ONLY.“
“I'm an Uber eats delivery courier. This place was a nice change from how other places treat delivery couriers. The food cooking in the morning smelled amazing. The staff was awesome. Great location for breakfast or any meal, I would think.“
“I don't really eat at many places in Brooklyn but I definitely enjoyed this place. I ordered the Reuben and it was delicious. The wings were good too. The inside felt super cozy, the waitstaff was friendly. I just felt like they overdid it with the coleslaw and my eggcream went flat pretty quick. Overall it's a nice little diner and I wouldn't mind coming back here.“
“If you're looking for a classic diner, look no further. Me and my lady LOVED three decker. She got the buffalo chicken wrap - to die! I had a mighty fine omelette (the departed). We had the best anniversary ever. Waitress good too, -1 star for bathroom cleanliness. Xoxo, RT“
“Just had dinner here. We're in the area to see Christmas lights in Dyker Heights. My pepper jack cheese omelet was cooked perfectly. The home fries are seasoned well, with room to add salt for those who like a little more. Service was phenomenal. The bathroom is clean. The gentleman behind the counter bantered and made us laugh just before we left. Highly recommend this place! Great place for all ages. Thanks for making our hot chocolates to-go special!“
“Wonderful little diner with DONUTS. *GOOD* DONUTS. Literally what more could a human ask for?? They're also 24/7 I believe, making them a true diner, and true heroes ?Vegetarian options: Have nice amount of breakfasty veggie options! Maybe skip if you're a vegan.“
“Came in for breakfast this morning at Perry’s…although it was very busy I was seated almost immediately by a beautiful and Bubbly brunette. The food was great …the place had a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere Service was great … Though this was my first time here , I will definitely be back !! Places like this are hard to find…“
“This time I took a star off, because the French onion soup and bread tasted stale. The grilled chicken Italian wrap was bland. What a surprise, because this place is usually very good. I never had any complaints. But this time it was not worth the trip nor the money.“
“Great place! Best breakfast and lunch spot in Brooklyn.Pete the owner and his staff treat you like family.Regular blue collar working people to big time Mayor frequently eat here.Love my bacon ,egg sandwich ? and old school egg cream soda ?“
“Stopped by here for a late breakfast. Interiors were cozy and visually pleasing. Service was polite and professional. There was quite a variety to choose from; we opted for the fajita steak quesadilla which to our joy was generously filled. To complement our meal, we each had a fresh juice/smoothie.Would definitely visit again for something quick and light.“
“I've come here a few times. I love their breakfast and it might have to remain the only thing I get. I love Mac and Cheese and the one I got here was watery and needed flavor. Super sad about thisBut the service is always good the place is simple, always nice and clean.Recommend for breakfast for sure“
“Vegetarian options: ATMOSPHERE IS DIMMED LIGHT AND NO MUSIC . You can actually have a conversation with friends or romantic partner They really dont care about your politics or sexuality. They do care about paying the bill, and keeping quiet.“
“They know me well. Be patronizing them since they were on Flatbush Ave & that's been some yrs now. My go 2 food is baked chicken breast, white rice w/ plenty juice from the chicken & sweet plantains. But they run out of white rice fast! ??“
“I have been sitting here. I have been finished eating my food and I am still waiting for them to bring me my tab so I can pay it. The only time they help me is when they took my order. No one has come back to check up on me no nothing, I feel ignored. No one asked me do i want refill no nothing. I am still sitting here and my food is done. Just sitting here holding this paper in my hand, waiting to pay smh they have a lot of waitresses, but they’re busy doing other days gossiping at the counter. I have decided to get out of my sleep and just go to the counter and pay this is unbelievable.Parking: There is plenty of walking all around the building and it’s free. There’s no set time to leave.Kid-friendliness: You can definitely bring your kids here“
“Comfortable spacious seating. Food is delicious. We had a California omelette. We are vegetarians so we said no bacon. Avocado, onion, tomato and black kalamata olives so tasty. French fries are delicious. Corn muffin fresh and tasty. Coffee cup was never empty. Great service! Great price.“
“I love Purity Diner. This cosy diner is a staple for us. My partner has been coming to this establishment his entire life and after my introduction, it's become my favorite too. The owner is a NYM fan and has some subtle memorabilia. He always greets us when we walk in and it's clear he remembers us. So kind of him to always remember us and make kind conversation. Food is 5/5. Exactly what you expect and are craving.“
“My love of little coffee shops was not disappointed. This place hits that perfect spot when you're hungry, want to grab a quick bite to eat and don't want to mess with anything fancy. The guy next to us had french toast with bananas.. it was so epic looking I asked him if I could take a picture. He was probably just glad I didn't ask him for a bite. I decide to go for a home cooking standard ... a meat loaf sandwich. If I could have told them how to make it, I couldn't have done a better job. It was the perfect meat loaf sandwich. Toasted bread, a little bit of cheese.. amazing. The breakfast choices are amazing and varied and even though I don't drink coffee that often, I felt it was needed here. Pretty good diner coffee that I didn't have to figure out what size I wanted or what flavors, etc.“
“It's okay for breakfast that stands out but the service does take really long sometimes.Kid-friendliness: I remember the time when I went in to order I saw a kid running around by a plate with a knife on it and that's not okay.“
“My buddy and I came for Sunday brunch and and both ordered the crabcake Benedict which came with bottomless coffee and a glass of juice. The crabcakes and hollandaise really hit the spot and the toasted English muffin never got soggy. The delightful Irish waitress was attentive and quite funny. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a casual brunch in bay ridge. Thanks Offshore diner!!!“
“20240310::i love these diners, especially sitting at the counters on the spinning stool. though the burger was premade, it was inexpensive enough that it was better than mic-key-d's burgers. i liked the egg salid sandwich. the omlette was good too. i was not a fan of the lobster bisque, too thick and it was the fake crab meat. just try it.20240217:: first time here and i love it, burger is ok, and the barley soup was yummy“
“Like others have said, this place has great service to go with solid diner quality food. I had the French toast side with a side of bacon and home fries. It was only $2 extra for the bacon! Seems like you’re lucky to get 2 slices for that price these days but FAD provides 4 slices.I would say the only other worthwhile diner in the neighborhood is Little Purity on 7th Ave. When you’re looking for a no frills diner that is friendly on the budget, all the other diners in the neighborhood seem to either have one of the following: bad food, bad service, over-priced, or too fancy. There isn’t a better diner diner place in the neighborhood if you’re not looking for a “fancy diner” experience“
“It was a midnight snack that we were searching for; for my fiance. We ordered a Belgian waffle to go as they were closing. The atmosphere was very pleasant, super friendly owner; deep conversations were had. We took the waffle into our car and as my fiance uncovered it, the car filled with notes of cooked batter with a vanilla scent. She only spoke once after the first bite, to proclaim its excellence!! She thoroughly enjoyed it. This wasn't my first visit there. I have had delicious breakfast there with my folks. We all loved the food. This one is a "must go". Reasonable prices are a plus.“
“Just came from drinking an liming all night an I was looking for a 4am breakfast spot guess what this place saved my life. Place is clean, tidy ambience is modern.. space is small an comfortable. When i got there, there was about 12 persons already dining. So much food for your money it was great experience.“
“Casual dining. Service was prompt and professional. The staff were always on the move, making sure things were well run.The jalapeño burger was made exactly as requested, and had excellent flavor balanced with a mile heat. Fries remained crispy and warm throughout the meal.Dining buddy had a ham and cheese omelette + refried beans. 2 thumbs up for that order too.“
“This is one of the oldest establishments on Avenue U . They have been there 50 years that I know of . Their donuts are okay . The coffee is probably the best coffee on Avenue u. Sometimes the staff can get a little grouchy but they're basically hard-working decent people . Every so often some crazy person comes in and it can be quite entertaining . The Establishment itself is a little rundown but it's okay . There is no place cheaper than this on Avenue U and the food is reasonable and good .“
“I’ve been coming here for years when I was a child and I now a family of my own and I bring my family here all the time. The waitresses get to know you like family, the owner is always so pleasant, delivery people are always patient and respectful and the food is delicious, if not the best. 10/10 would recommend.“
“Small diner to get quick food. Service is great and prices are somewhat reasonable. We got coffee, 2 egg platters- one with beef sausage and turkey sausage with eggs and toast and the other just eggs and grits and cheese and toast. This came out to $33 and we left 7 tip.“
“I came to this place by chance and I didn't expect to eat so well! The Jerk chicken was delicious and the rice with beans had a special flavor… I loved it! The man who served me the food was very nice as well as the young man at the register. I will definitely return to try more of their dishes!“
“Live about a five minute walk from here so ate breakfast with partner and another friend on snowy day. We got 1. Lox omelet with side sausage 2. Jalapeño omelet with side bacon 3. bagel with cream cheese and side eggs. For all of this and three coffees it was about 40 dollars total. Also, the food was surprisingly not as bad as many reviews have indicated. It was good. I got jalapeño omelet and it was really nice with fresh jalapeños. They also have menudo which I didn't try. Super solid place.“
“Honestly I'm ashamed I haven't left a review sooner. We've had breakfast and lunch here but for the first time had dinner delivered tonight. I got the ribeye, seasoned and cooked perfectly, my gf got the meatloaf both were absolutely delicious. The sauteed broccoli was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were creamy. I've never had bad food here only delicious food. The service is always 10/10!“
“Great location, awesome breakfasts and amazing service! George’s may be a small chain, but they capture all the elements of the typical all American diner and exceed far above the gigantic national chains! As a visitor, I absolutely enjoyed my 2 visits to George’s very much!“
“I had the Full Irish Breakfast. It was pretty good. I tried the Irish black pudding and Irish white pudding for the first time. I found out it's a blood sausage the black one and the white one doesn't have blood. I didn't know that. I thought it was going to be like the kind of pudding that we know in the USA. I liked the sausage and the bacon. I don't know why it was called Irish sausage and Irish bacon because I couldn't tell the difference from USA bacon and sausage. The home fries were decent. The toast was good. The coffee was okay. It was not the best coffee but it was drinkable. I liked the scrambled eggs just fine. I've been wanting to check this place out for a couple years so I was happy to go. The man who worked there taking orders was nice.“
“NY diners are a dying breed, COVID really hit the diner scene hard and I lost a couple of go to diner's. Mikes royal diner is one of my favorite spots, I try not to give such a great review because I don't want to cause issues with being able to get a table, but they are fully equipped to handle the crowd. There were occasions where there were no seats and I believe our wait time was 6 min. I stand by the crispiness of the bacon, and they get it right all the time.Vegetarian options: They have soups that are vegetarian friendly and burgers“
“The Lumberjack Pancakes or French Toast, Lumberjack itself is the signature product, and it is really good. Not only that, but the customer service provided by the team at The New Daisy's Diner is very family oriented and gave me the nostalgia of my childhood of going to a mom and pop. They were attentive, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. I know you will enjoy the experience as the atmosphere is definitely akin to that of going home to eat with your parents and in the good way!“
“A perfect establishment—solid breakfast food, kind servers, and a vibe that reminds me of going to breakfast with my dad as a kid. Other diners in the city are at least twice as expensive and don’t provide half the warmth or charm of this place. Thank you thank you Mike’s!!!“
