“My absolute favorite place in New York. Luckily, Mike’s Coffee Shop survived the pandemic and is still as heartwarming a place as ever.
Simply a nice, original shop where you can have a good breakfast, be served by nice people and enjoy a perfect breakfast without any big fuss for little money.

“The scrambled eggs are ??? Choose this with Plato’s plate or on the avocado toast. They give you a generous serving of the salad. Visited twice so far on Sundays and both times the place was clean and service was good. Go early to avoid the wait.“

“Delicious huge sandwiches. Two of us ordered two sandwiches (cod, and eggplant parm We had lunch and dinner. Both were delicious. The service was excellent as well. The atmosphere was very sparse. It’s definitely a place to eat a good inexpensive meal, it’s not a place to go for ambiance. I definitely would recommend stopping by, but bring your appetite.“

“The person on the phone was incredibly kind and patient, even though I had to keep asking him to repeat himself because of the noise on my end. The taco was pretty good, though I was a little disappointed to discover the sauce only after I finished one of them. On the bright side, the buffalo wings were amazing, especially when paired with the green sauce that came with the tacos which surprises me.“

“Union Street Cafe is an old school diner with an amazingly affordable menu of solid choices. CASH ONLY. Pancakes, egg sandwiches, burgers, turkey clubs, tuna melts, coffee, pastries all make the menu. It's a small place, mostly 4 top tables. Would be difficult to accommodate groups larger than that unless you came off peak. Ambiance is very casual and a little retro. Service was understandably a little frantic on a busy Saturday and very friendly. Staff is bilingual (Spanish).CASH ONLY.“

“Loooove this place! Always my go to for breakfast I live right around the corner and so happy about it. The pancakes are the best, but everything else is great too. Service is fast and easy. Usually crowded because it’s so good but never had to wait more than 5 mins for a seat, or i just sit at the counter.“

“Be sure to have cash on hand. This place does not have transactions through using your debit card. You have to have cash in order to pay for your food. It does not have a sign that says must have cash, but when my wife and I went to pay for our breakfast we were told cash only. So as a heads up, make sure you have cash in your pocket in order to pay for your food. But overall we love the food we love the service and we love the atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place for anyone.“

“I have been coming to George's for many years now whether it is for dine-in or take-out. I have always gotten fantastic service and great food. The staff is warm, welcoming and treat every customer with the utmost respect. The restaurant itself is very clean, even before our current COVID situation. They take this pandemic very seriously and they make sure that they follow all the protocols suggested by the CDC and our State Government. “Everything you'd expect from a diner. Staff knows the clientele. Food comes out fast. And if there is a problem, someone has eyes on it and comes to help right away.

Got pancakes and waffles my boys loved.

Got a wrap I enjoyed.

My partner got a salad. The protein (chicken kebabs) was delicious though wished there was a different greens option to pair with it. Spinach or romaine or even mixed seasonal greens.

Anyway worth a visit if you are craving a solid diner experience.

“Chicken pesto panini was good but a bit dry, bread was not very fresh. Service was lovely! Atmosphere a was a bit odd, outside had some random decorations that may not have been intentional. Overall good experience. Mainly writing this to say that there is funny wording on the menu, paninis, wraps & bowls come with "some blue chips". “I've been on a donut quest in NYC, and 7th Ave Donuts & Diner has the best donuts I've had so far! Their donuts are fresh, fluffy, and perfectly glazed. I especially love their Boston cream.
The staff is also very friendly and kind. They make you feel welcome and are always happy to answer any questions you have.
Overall, I highly recommend 7th Ave Donuts & Diner. It's a great place to grab a delicious donut and enjoy a friendly atmosphere.

“A throwback Diner that we always want to have as part of our city's fabric. The owner was sitting at the counter and engaged me in friendly conversation throughout. The server was a joy and reflected true Brooklyn soul. I was hoping for Kalamata olives as opposed to black olives in my greek omelette, but why quibble on such a minute matter. It was great and I love supporting local independent restaurants.“

Is it possible maybe bc the old owners are quite bitter they had to close down due to them being caught for not selling kosher? Maybe. “Reviews are all over the place on Mex Carroll's Diner. Can tell you this though, our meals were definitely 5 stars. Didn't look at the reviews before going here and glad we didn't as we might have passed it up. We were meeting with an attorney nearby and when we left we asked her about it. She noted she has eaten there many times and it was very good. She also mentioned it was a "Mexican Diner". Didn't quite grasped what was meant by this, but when we got the menu we understood. Whoa, tremendous menu. Over 20 different types of omelettes, 7 different eggs benedict variations, at least twenty different burger styles, pasta dishes, etc. Something for everyone. Never knew something like a "Mexican Diner" existed. Nice concept.

As mentioned previously our meals were 5 star. The same could be said for the service and dining atmosphere. We ate outside in their backyard courtyard. Pleasantly decorated and comfortable. Surrounded by greenery and most of the tables had large umbrellas to keep the sun from beaming down on you. No issues with the service provide by the wait staff. On our way out we were wished a good a good day. We had brunch which was an order of Huevos Rancheros and Eggs Benedict. Had a choice of red or green salsa to go with the Huevos Rancheros. Went with the green which was perfect. Not too spicy, but not bland either. It came with refried beans and yellow rice. Both were a delight. Ordered a fresh squeezed orange juice that was as fresh squeezed should be...in other words really good. Mexican Diner with tons of Mexican breakfast choices and what does my wife order...Eggs Benedict! Well, I guess that's the point of a diner. Lots of choices. Verdict on the Eggs Benedict was a thumbs up. Very good with no complaints.

BTW...Might have to put some of the one star reviews in context. One person left a one star because they wouldn't let him use the bathroom. Just came in off the street and wasn't going to order anything. Really? Also there are complaints about the prices. We thought they were reasonable especially considering the portion size. “I had the Full Irish Breakfast. It was pretty good. I tried the Irish black pudding and Irish white pudding for the first time. I found out it's a blood sausage the black one and the white one doesn't have blood. I didn't know that. I thought it was going to be like the kind of pudding that we know in the USA. I liked the sausage and the bacon. I don't know why it was called Irish sausage and Irish bacon because I couldn't tell the difference from USA bacon and sausage. The home fries were decent. The toast was good. The coffee was okay. It was not the best coffee but it was drinkable. I liked the scrambled eggs just fine. I've been wanting to check this place out for a couple years so I was happy to go. The man who worked there taking orders was nice.“
