Great place to have a drink! Amanda is simply the best there, fun and energetic!
We stumbled across this place while out for a drive and decided to stop in to have something hot to eat and cold to drink. We were beyond impressed with the food and outstanding service. Saalty Dawg Saloon is a hidden gem that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. The restaurant serves delicious food and provides excellent service, although it is noted that the place currently operates as a bar without food service. The unique interior, adorned with dollar bills on the walls and ceiling, adds to its charm and is a nostalgic experience for many, especially those with ties to Alaska. This historic spot has become a huge tourist attraction, but on slower nights outside of the short summer season, it is still easy to find a spot at the bar and enjoy drinks while reminiscing with some locals. The bar features a fun atmosphere, complete with an updated jukebox and pleasant music. Cash is the only form of payment accepted, but there is an ATM available. Saalty Dawg Saloon is a must-visit for tourists and locals alike, making it an ideal spot to grab a drink, relax, and perhaps even spot a recent catch being filleted.
