“Excellent coffee shop on Long Island, come for the caffeine and stay for the community. We stopped by my mom’s favorite coffee shop mid-afternoon, because the family was trying to kill me with caffeine deprivation. The oat milk latte was carefully made and smooth and easy to drink. The interior is great, for a brief moment in time you are anywhere in the World with roll up garage doors, fooseball and a clean setting for evening entertainment. I’ll be back next time I’m visiting!“

“My best friend lives in Queens so she and I come to the Onion Tree every other Friday night. I wish this place was closer to me. I live in Yonkers. The food is superb, seasoned extraordinarily. The chicken is fresh, soft and cut into small bites. I always order chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, or chicken tikka pizza. I have never had food that I enjoyed this much and I have tried all foods all over the world. I never get tired of this place. And the food is served quickly and piping hot. They’re opening a second place in Manhattan. We’re getting closer to Yonkers!! The drinks are awesome too. Barbra and Louis work behind the bar. They’re friendly and great bartenders.“

It's a neighborhood dive bar of the sort that are ubiquitous in my native Wisconsin, but rare gems in the NYC metro. Craft cocktails and small batch IPAs will not be found here, but simple mixed drinks and domestic drafts are always on hand. Darts and a few other bar games are cheap or free, and the beautiful original window storefront opens up wide to let the warm air in on summer nights.
