“The Papri Chaat is a five-star appetizer— delicious mix of yogurt and spices on wheat “crisps,” similar to bhel puri but better texture. The pappadum are a must as well. So is an order of the (spicy hot) mixed pickles, in case the entrees aren’t spicy enough for your tastes. I got the chicken curry— generous portion, and tasty with the pickles and naan. (The rice was just ok, though, so I’d get extra naan next time.) My companion got the stuffed mushrooms, which were unexciting but probably not a good bet at an Indian restaurant to begin with. Good beer options, excellent service. A place not to miss in Cooperstown.”
“This place was absolutely spectacular. From the food to the service, all around top notch. I have a dairy allergy and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I could eat what I ordered. They helped me navigate the menu and went back and forth to double check each ingredient to make sure it was safe. The food itself was also delicious, definitely recommend the zealous burger. Furthermore, I have a tailbone injury at the moment and was standing most of the time and they were so accommodating and asking if they could get me anything, a comfier seat, even asking to get a sweatshirt from their own car for me to sit on. Thank you Lindsey and Becky and all of the staff for going above and beyond. Truly a place worth stopping!”
“The service from the bartender was awesome. We enjoyed the ambiance of baseball nostalgia, the food was tasty and plentiful. The drinks were made with perfection.”
“Delicious fresh food beautifully presented. Great for sit down or to go. Best bagels. Amazing place to purchase local creations as gifts. You can create a great basket of awesome little gifts and or their genuine bagels. Will be back again to eat and shop! On my way out I saw a lovely qaint room for enjoying their lovely brews and relaxing...I'll do that too next time!”
“We were very pleased with our dining experience at Toscana from beginning to end. The staff was warm, helpful and very efficient. The menu selection and wine list were comprehensive, without being overwhelming, and the prices were reasonable for the superior quality of the ingredients and presentation of the meal. Definitely a winner for us.”
“The service and food have never disappointed. We were there last week and had a wonderful dinner. I love the options for the fish. You pick your fish, a starch and a vegetable (there are three options for each). It is outstanding. This past visit, my husband had the cornish hen and he loved it. Another great experience. Managers actually stop at your table and check in. They consistently go out of their way to say hello. It made our visit special. We will be back.”
“Their Reuben egg sandwich is one of the single greatest things I have ever eaten!!! Incredibly consistent, fast and friendly service, excellent prices... this is the spot to go.”
“Exceptional beers. Super friendly people. Worth the drive and adventure to get to this spot. Live music on the Saturday we stopped by. Authentic crafted brew, and a great variety.”
“Our second full night in Cooperstown and we tried Mel's on 22 and so happy that we did. Our waitress was so nice and very helpful with information about places in town. I loved the chandeliers in the dining area and the local photographs. The chicken soup was very good, but the beet salad was amazing. We added blackened chicken to the beet salad and the chicken was moist and tender. We have decided to go back tomorrow for lunch. When you find something good.....stick with it.”
“A real neighborhood brewery actually on a family farm. Nice variety of beers on a lower abv spectrum. No food on premises but food trucks when the weather is appropriate. A beautiful location with a outside gazebo.”
“We came planning on having a single drink after dinner. We ended up staying for five sounds and nearly 4 hours. Jason was a pleasure to talk to and mixed fantastic cocktails. Both on the menu and off his drinks were amazing. If you have one cocktail in Cooperstown, make sure it’s here and mixed by Jason.”
“Bump Tavern is a historic building in the Farmers Museum in Cooperstown NY. It is connected with the Crossroads Cafe...the staff gave information on the history of the tavern while in period attire. Fun place- the whole museum is a fun day event!”
“We were visiting Cooperstown from Long Island and we were looking for a place for dinner. We really enjoyed this restaurant. The wings, hamburgers, and fries were delicious. Great service and a friendly staff made our dinner very enjoyable. I highly recommend it.”
“It’s a great place with indoor and outdoor seating. Great selection of wines l’iCal and other places of NY. Friendliest staff along with Rick, the owner! Have a glass or a tasting!”
“Great atmosphete for hanging with friends. Have been many times - great music/ summer festivals.Food was average, service mediocre. I don't think you visit for these things in themselves - you come for everything else- music and beer”
“Day trip to Cooperstown to see Escher collection at the Fenimore. Stopped at this local brewery for a bite to eat and test out their beer. Cute little facility with the friendliest of bartender. Despite the number of people at the bar, she worked with everyone to ensure they were paid attention to and answered questions. I tried the stout, burly Beard, very good, full flavor. They had a good truck, Gabriana's Mobile Express. Pizza slice, quesadillas and loaded waffle fries! All fabulous. We ate all of it. Place has inside and outside seating, quiet area with games to play inside.”
“Wendy knows exactly what I want everytime I call and wanna place an order, she merely needs to hear my vicoe and automatically knows??? any other time i call I still get awesome service its been that way for years! Definitely one of the best spots to eat!!”
“This is a great place for locals and tourists! Julie and Don have been in the restaurant/bar business for quite some time and they are friendly and have a fun establishment. The food is typical American bar and grill food that is predictably decent--they have something for everyone. Our party had burgers and pulled pork sandwiches. All the food was good. And the drinks even better. I had the Jack Frost and it was delicious!”
“Love the red shed! Whenever we do the brew trail this one always sneaks up on me bc I forget it's part of it. The area is gorgeous and the ppl friendly af. Always seems to have a group that's a Bach party or something of the sort so you know it's an excellent go to. I find this place also has something for everyone's taste and we always manage to find a bev that stands out. Will continue to return w the pals when doing the beer trail!”
“Not enough parking. Ice machine broken.Very expensive for basic accommodation but it was high season. They will wake you up at 815 with a leaf blower. In July. Not leaf season. There were no leaves to blow. It's loud. Kids clomping up the metal outside stairwell or banging on their own door with no care for others, slamming doors, etc. Lots of baseball kids in town for tournaments and it sounded like they were playing a game right next door. You do get 1 free boat ride and 1 $5 meal discount per person per night. So our family of 4 stayed 2 nights we got 8 coupons for our $650. Just one boat ride not 4 or 8 though. I go to use 5 of them, our relative joined us for dinner the first night, and the waitress takes 20 not 25 off the bill. We say what's up, and she shows me 4 coupons. I know I handed her a stack of 5 but trusted her not to screw up by accident or screw us over on purpose. Next time, show them how many you are handing them, count them in front of the server. 5 dollar lesson learned. I get back to the room and yup, there are 3 not 4 coupons left. Food was okay, you're overpaying for the location and view but this left a sour taste.325 a night with tax for a motel (I think they changed their name at some point to hotel but it is a motel) and they have to screw us over like that for 5 extra bucks?Same owners of motel and restaurant I think.I will add a star because the towels provided were some of the nicest ones I've ever had. A strange thing to ace but they did.Just admire the pictures of the lake and the orange roofs of the "hotel" and thank me if you didn't stay here.Rooms: Great towels, seemed clean, AC worked okay, small TV, fridge froze everything on a medium setting and there's no microwave. Bathroom was redone but no shelf at the pedestal sink and hair dryer very old.Walkability: Walk to the Hall of Fame”
“One of the most enjoyable and flavorful meals my family and I have had in a very long time! We were in Cooperstown for the weekend. Were told by the innkeeper how amazing Nicoletta's is. She was right. We went there on a Saturday night. We were greeted and served by Isaiah. Isaiah was a sensational waiter! Great recommendations and amazing service! Our meals were sensational! I had the filet over fettuccini in a blue cheese white sauce. Amazing! Not overbearing with the blue cheese. My wife had spaghetti with the absolutely most amazing, flavorful bolognese sauce. Isaiah said it was just made that day and we could tell. Sooo fresh and tasty! My son had tortellini with sausage. It was wonderful as well! We cannot recommend this place enough!”
“An unforgettable experience with a guy named Bob. Bob greeted us outside before we even walked through the door. 3 delicious drafts and even made us a complimentary lunch! If you're looking for a personal experience and feel like you're kickin it back with an old friend. Go have a couple with Bob. Oh, and he plays some pretty damn good music on vinyl. We will be back to see our new friend Bob?”
“Service here was spot on! Food was good I mean I had a toasted beagle. One of the employees was roasting coffee in the back of the establishment which really set the ambiance.”
“Having been told by others to visit this diner and get their cheeseburger we made it our first stop in Cooperstown. It is a small, very quaint diner with approximately 20 seats mixed between tables and barstools. It is certainly iconic simply due to its size. We arrived at noon and were immediately greeted by Peach. I will say Peach and the chef were the only two people taking care of a Friday lunch crowd. We placed our order awaiting the arrival of our burgers. My group was blown away when the burgers arrived. Just see the picture! I’ve never seen a burger this large let alone having to try and eat it. It was impossible to fit in my already big mouth so I chose to slowly knife/fork it on the plate. The burger was tasteful, juicy, and very flavorful. The tater tots were crisp and hot.It certainly is a burger that can easily be split between diners. Our service was impeccable, quick and delivered with humor and positive interaction from Peach. She was one of the best servers I have ever encountered. You remember the fun, experienced servers who excel at their job. Peach will always be remembered by our party of four.Certainly visit this diner while in Cooperstown but be prepared to wait for a seat during their busy times. Trust me, it will be worth the wait.”
“Love this place! I got a Russian tea cake, big coconut macaroon, rainbow sprinkle cookie, and biscotti. Everything was delicious! And the staff are very sweet. Will definitely going back. One request: if you're ever considering expanding your offerings, I would love some more bread variety, esp. sourdough :)”
“Nice breakfast place with a unique ordering system. Order and tip at the counter, pour your own coffee, have a seat and in a few short minutes breakfast is served. Tasty breakfast fare....not a fan of paper plates but it served well. Tad too much hollandaise on the eggs Benedict but a well made sauce. Hubby also ordered French toast and would have like maple syrup but it was well cooked and enjoyed. Easy peasy to get to on Rt 28 on our way to 88 leaving Cooperstown. A good stop.”
“Was passing through the area from Philadelphia and ordered takeout from here - turns out the woman who works there is also from Philly!! That's when I knew the food was going to be good. Everyone there was lovely, the food was super affordable, and most importantly, everything I got was so so tasty”
“Monday night.....most places were closed.Cooley's - nice pub atmosphere,1 chef working the kitchen and 1 server attending to everyone. She was running around quite a bit, yet she still had time to check-in with us to update on the food. Yes, the food took a little while, but understanding what was going on "back of the house" makes it a non-issue.I had the "Jersey burger"....?.Bottom line....If in the area, I definitely stop in again.PS - great chili......?”
“Went in there today after visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame. The guy behind the counter was very nice and the slices were great. The bottom crust was crunchy and the rest of the crust was soft with that slight crunch on the top. The chicken bacon ranch slice I had was amazing. I'm so glad I tried it. It was a little greasy, but not overly so, and besides pizzas supposed to be a little greasy. Absolutely recommend this place.”
“Had breakfast here before driving home to Ohio. Was taken aback at the restaurant being out of the way. But the food was most excellent. We were there on a Wednesday and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. One man on duty and was great at taking out order and cooking it up. Great country diner.”
