“This specific spot is top tier chicken over rice. Chicken was well done and super flavorful without being spicy and burning your mouth. Rice alone also tastes great. This guy working in the front was generous to give me a few extra chips. Portions were decently priced perfectly. Stop by for lunch or a late night bite. I love they’re opened till 2 am! 11/10!“

One of my favorite places in Huntington, and I have lived here my entire life. BUT it is now close to unaffordable. It used to be ~$10 for a wrap AND fries AND soda. Even $15 for all that would be more than reasonable. But their prices have recently jumped through the roof - $15 for just a wrap!? $10 for a large fry!? Ridiculous. Work on getting more customers, not icing out the customers that have been loyal to you for many, many years.

5 stars for fries and sauces, 4 stars for everything else. Wraps are good, wouldn't say great. Same with burgers. Fried chicken too processed, grilled is good!“

“I was here yesterday, ordered Chicken Karahi, Kebabs, Chicken Tikka with Naan. Everything was delicious and closer to the perfection. Raita and special Spicy Onions made things more delicious. “Come here daily for salads, burrito bowls, Greek bowls. Pop Salad and El Diez menus are a great deal under 10 dollars (guacamole is free) they even have a combo with chips and drink for $10. Portions are big. You can customize everything, and it tells you in the app if anything has gluten, dairy, or nuts. Hard to review a restaurant that has this level of variety, but the healthy dishes are definitely as good as anywhere else for less money and faster service. The fast pass subscription gets you money discounted on every order automatically so it pays for itself if you come regularly which isn't a problem at a place that has everything and is open until almost midnight every day. The benefit of Wonder having everything is that the entire family can get whatever type of food they want from one location and you don't have to agree on what to have for dinner or lunch anymore. No need to wait on a line at Chipotle anymore.“

“I saw a lot of hype about this place on social media and me and the guys happened to be in the area so we thought that we'd give it a try, because who doesn't love Afghani food?

We had the onion rings and chicken shawarma loaded fries as an appetizer and that was really good. Juicy chicken and really good sauces drenched over the fries that somehow managed to stay crispy.

We had the fried fish platter with rice, the grilled lamb and grilled chicken chunks with rice, and the chicken kebab and beef kebab with rice. The kebabs were good and flavorful. The fried fish was crispy and delicious. The rice was excellent. Salads were fresh. The grilled lamb pieces were ok. The grilled chicken chunks looked well seasoned but definitely we're dry and unflavorful. Highly not recommended. I am not a picky eater but this chicken was not good. It left a lot more to be desired from the presentation.

Unfortunately that was my order and i shared with the guys and they also agreed with me. Thankfully they shared back their plates which helped make up for my not so great meats.“

I had the pleasure of dining at Bakhtar Afghani Restaurant recently, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and the inviting aroma of grilled meats and spices made it clear we were in for something special.

The hospitality was top-notch. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles, and our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to recommend popular dishes. We felt truly welcomed, as if we were guests in someone’s home.

We started with the Bolani, a traditional Afghan stuffed flatbread, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. Then came the mantu – Afghan dumplings filled with seasoned ground beef and topped with yogurt and split peas – absolutely delicious and delicate in flavor.

The highlight, however, was the mixed grill platter. Each skewer was grilled to perfection – the chicken kebabs were juicy and well-marinated, the lamb chops were tender and bursting with flavor, and the kofta kebabs had just the right blend of spices. Every bite showcased the richness of Afghan culinary tradition.

The rice dishes deserve their own praise – the kabuli pulao in particular was phenomenal. Fluffy basmati rice layered with sweet carrots and raisins, paired with tender chunks of lamb – a true comfort dish that felt like it was made with love.

For dessert, we had the firni, a creamy Afghan rice pudding, subtly flavored with cardamom and garnished with pistachios. It was the perfect way to end our meal.

The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and the quality of the food was outstanding. Whether you’re familiar with Afghan cuisine or trying it for the first time, Bakhtar is a must-visit. It’s a place that combines authenticity, flavor, and heartfelt service in a way that’s hard to find.
