“I need to make you aware of a wonderful diamond in the rough on Rochester’s west side. My wife and I visited this quaint Lower Manhattan style eatery with my brother-in-law and his wife. This unassuming place from the outside pleasantly surprises once you enter with its quaint bar area, blacked out ceiling and twin open kitchen stations. First litmus test is the quality of bread with a full complement of spices to prep your own dipping oil. Check! Special of the day, Seared Halibut on a bed of risotto, didn’t disappoint, nor did my samples of homemade Rigatoni à la Bolognese (just like Mom’s Sunday sauce) or the Chicken Milanese! Completed the meal with an ample slice of homemade Ricotta Cheesecake with Berry Compote. The owner checked in with us several times. The table service was perfect. The glass enclosed wine cellar in the middle of the dining area completed an impressive ambience and dining experience. Run don’t walk to this most pleasant gastro treat!“

“I love the burgers here, and my dining companion raves about the pizza! Today I tried their version of Nashville chicken.

Way too much bun for the chicken, which was tasty but not special in its flavor. Nice and crunchy but bland. No kick at all. Way too many pickles - no problem, just picked a few off and ate a few separately. I usually really like their rosemary garlic fries. Today they were hard, cool and very salty. Surprising because they'd just opened.

Overall the customer service vibe was off today. Our server was excellent, however the way we were received could improve. I had planned to meet someone at 11:30 am. That's when they open, and trust me, not a minute earlier. As a matter of fact, 2 minutes late, with staff making sure to not make eye contact as they prepared. There was no seating outside the main entrance, situated within a mall. It was about to start raining, so it didn't seem wise to sit outside. Tough on those who cannot stand for long periods of time. When the staff finally unlocked the door, they just turned the bolt and walked away. I would've expected them to physically open the door and welcome the small crowd that had gathered.

“We would highly recommend having your event with this venue! We booked the Beer Hall without seeing the room. It was decorated so beautifully, was set up perfect with large tables and offered ample space for socializing! The buffet was delicious and offered many options. They also provided us a gluten free dish for one of our guests! Nicole was amazing in serving our guests, making sure everything was taken care of timely and was fantastic to work with (which was all done over the phone). You have donated pizzas all over the community, but just today, I learned you will be donating pizza to our children at St. Kateri for their last Field day of the school's existence! Typically the children would be given hot dogs, watermelon, and freeze pops, but we were told this year there was no money to do so...as many already know, the school is closing down for good (as St. Kateri that is). It will become Chesterton Academy, and our loving school community is officially disbanded at the end of this school year, all needing to find new homes...children and teachers alike! When we learned that yet one more tradition was coming to an end, you swooped in and came through for our children. First off, they contacted me when the game was rescheduled and offered accommodations so that I could get the pizza and bake it myself as they weren’t open on Monday when the game would be played.
