“This ice-cream shop is a delightful discovery for a late night treat. Me and my boyfriend were craving something sweet and we went to get a little treat. The customer service was really great and very patient because I couldn’t decide on which flavor to get, they had so many flavors i eventually decided to get the cookies and cream my boyfriend got bananas foster sundae dasher. We both watched her prepared our items and my boyfriend words were “awww she preparing it with love” because the presentation of his bananas foster sundae dasher was so cute. I also tried his bananas foster sundae dasher and it tastes so good, it was like a symphony of flavors; I would highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back and try their other flavors.“

“Maria’s Sans Rival cake lives up to the meaning of its name, undoubtedly unrivaled. It was made of sheets of chewy meringue loaded with crunchy cashew nuts, alternating with thick layers of “melt-in-your mouth” buttercream. Glad it was not too sweet that I was able to enjoy large servings of this delightful dessert. Great with coffee or tea.“

It’s called Sweet Lil Sweets, a small, family-owned bakery and honestly? It blew me away.

I tried the banana pudding it is comparable to magnolia bakery but better !!
creamy, smooth, real bananas, balanced to perfection. As a chef, I appreciate when something simple is done right.

The tres leches cake? Moist, rich, but still light. That kind of texture doesn’t happen by accident it takes care.

I wasn’t even planning on ordering the white hot chocolate, my boo did but yo... one sip and I was hooked. Silky, not too sweet just comforting.

The iced coffee? Strong like Zeus fresh, no bitterness. Very solid it woke me up to reality

And they even let me sample their signature cheesecake cupcake bites it was banging Creamy little flavor bombs. You already know I wanted more. And that's coming from someone who doesn't really like cake like that

Listen, this spot has heart. You can taste it in every bite. As a chef, I know how much goes into this kind of quality and they’re doing it without the spotlight.

“What can I say? It’s the namesake. And it’s worthy of the name.

Café Saint-Michel serves some of the most interesting coffee drinks in the neighborhood—my favorite is the black sesame latte. Deep, mellow, a little mysterious. The pastries rotate seasonally, but the rhubarb custard danish with orange-laminated dough. No words. Buttery folds that melt into each other like silk in heat.

When I bite into the center, the true middle, it hits: thin flaky crust, thick custard, tart rhubarb exploding across tongue and cheek. It reminds me of the first month of falling for someone you’ll eventually love. That exact bite. Divine craving, new flavors, heady aromas. Intoxicating. Fleeting. There’s only ever one bite like that. The danish builds to it. My last relationship started there. One perfect mouthful, then it was all downhill, like heli-skiing a black diamond at Snowbird. Exhilarating. Dangerously consuming. Then gone in a rush of chilled air.

After the pastry, I usually sip my black sesame latte on the walk home. It’s mellow and wide. A gentle counterpoint to all that sweetness. It reminds me of what happens after love. When the sugar fades and you’re left with yourself again. Still standing. Still full, somehow. The calm expanse of a vista from solid ground.

“We had the best experience ever with this bakery - the cake was included in our venue pricing through this bakery, and I can definitely see why! Working with Alison to schedule and have our tasting, which was just down right fun...(because of COVID we had to take our samples home... and she loaded us up with some extras to share with friends) to showing her our vision for the cake on the day of, and then actually SEEING and EATING it at our wedding was perfect all the way through. They really incorporated everything we asked for, and it was simply delicious!!! “I stumbled across this bakery after having a birthday dinner at Mas Tortilla a few blocks away. It was a great find.

I ordered a cappuccino, 2 Grand Opening cupcakes, and a box of macarons for my bf and I to share and it was all sooo good.

The cupcakes had a passionfruit icing/paste that I could tell was made with real passionfruit on the inside and the cake was the perfect texture and moisture level. As good as the cupcakes were though, the real star of the show was the macarons. They were out of this world. We tried one of every flavor and I was not let down. My favorites were the fruity pebbles and the earl grey.

We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area!“

“This bakery used to have another location in downtown flushing. I tried their cake before and liked it. So it decided to order a custom cake and cupcake from them.

The owner/baker was very easy to communicate with via text. She explained all the details to me, even suggested to go light on the color of the cake, too much food coloring is not good for children. This is something I have not thought of as a mother ! And I appreciate her reminding me of this !!

On the day of the pick up, I was a bit worry about how the cake would turn out. The cake turned out great !! and it tastes great too !! Several of our guests at the party ask for the bakery and they want to order cakes for their own birthday !!

Not sure where the $30-$50 price comes from - I tried to Oreo cake for $3.50, and they gave us a huge slice. It wasn’t too sweet and had wonderful flavors and textures. It was so good that I went back the next day to bring some back home, and they were super sweet and gave us an extra slice. 10/10, beautiful cakes, super affordable!“

She was the only staff there that day where there was 7+ customers and still went well and beyond for me when I was pre-ordering a birthday cake. “They have a very generous portion of what we ordered of eggs and potatoes. Sometimes the place is packed. The area is quite small. Take out is better. And if it's not peak hours, dining in is okay too. Peak hours, don't expect to get a seat. Bagels and coffee are good.

Vegetarian options: They have a good selection for bagels and they serve toast and eggs and some vegetables.

Parking: Not a lot but people come and go and there's a good chance to get a spot.“
