“Fantastic gem in LIC. Great authentic flavors and extensive menu. Fun cocktails too!! Highly recommend the black jack beef, Mongolian lamb, Changsha chicken and dragon eye for dessert. Amazing. Liam was our server and was very attentive, personable and gave great recommendations. Check it out!“

“Very simple place with some stools and a counter but if you live in the neighborhood just take it to go. I can’t confirm they always do this but when I ordered the guy in the back stated slapping some noodles and made my meals to order. The noodles were nice and chewy, the sauce was spicy with a bit of good depth (not overly complex but also not too simple). There was just the right amount of pork meat that was tender enough to break into strips to make eating a little less messy. One of the best things is my dish was 13 bucks. Which is a nice price for a good meal. They are also a chain with one in mid town Manhattan that I’ve been to and the lamb cumin noodles were also great. Hard to go wrong with fresh pulled noodles that is kind to your wallet.“

“Very nice food.
Only complaint is that we asked for “mild” and it was very spicy still. Perhaps should have asked for no spice as the food itself was very well cooked and flavourful.
Got beef dish and chicken dish“

“One of the coziest and most welcoming Chinese restaurants I’ve been to in New York City! The atmosphere is warm and relaxing, with natural tones and ambient lighting that make it perfect for a dinner date or reunion with friends and family.
The menu offers a wide range of comforting dishes. We especially loved the shrimp with walnuts (so creamy and satisfying), the chili fish, and the soup dumplings. The cabbage hot pot came in a vessel with an open flame underneath to keep it warm throughout the meal, which was such a lovely touch. The lamb dish was served with fire as well, adding some visual excitement to the table. They also brought out hot tea kept warm over a small candle, which added to the cozy fall vibe.
It happened to be Mid-Autumn Festival when we visited, and they even gave us complimentary mooncakes, such a thoughtful surprise! We also had the Peking duck, spring rolls, and more, and everything was served fresh and full of flavor.
This place has a natural charm and offers a truly comforting dining experience. I’ll definitely be back again soon!“

“Situated in Rafferty Triangle is a truck making large brunch items known as Chinese crepes or jianbing. I recommend adding two eggs and taking advantage of the vegetables as they add lasting crunch. The flavor is really good and as a result I'm a repeat customer.“

“We had a great time eating hot pot here. The coconut chicken hot pot is delicious, and the service is also great. The staff helped us cook the chicken, distributed the soup to everyone, and even helped us pick chicken out when it’s in the best texture. The ingredients are also high quality. Highly recommend!“

“My partner and I were in the neighborhood and got really excited when we saw a soup dumpling spot around the corner.
We ordered the pork xiao long bao and the pork and crab xiao long bao, both were super fresh and delicious, especially for the price (~$18 for both). We eat a lot of XLB and Asian food in general, so trust us when we say it’s worth checking out!
The staff are really kind, honest, and seem genuinely hardworking.
I definitely recommend trying this place at least once if you get the chance, whether you’re stopping in or ordering on a food app. We’ll definitely be coming back :) Excited to try their other dishes!“

“NYC typically rivals the Chinese food you can find in the Bay Area and Hupo certainly helps that case. Focusing on Sichuan style cuisine, Hupo has a wide array of entrees and bites that will leave you full and wanting to come back for more. They certainly do deserve their Bib Gourmand. We had a reservation for 5 set for dinner and were glad we did so as the place was very busy when we arrived. The interior is clean and simple with no frills. Once seated we were informed that they only have digital menus through a QR code which was a bit difficult to navigate with 2 out of the 5 of us being older and not as tech savvy but we figured it out anyways.
We ordered a few different entrees and split them family style so we’ll go over them generally. Side note: although many of the dishes are noted as being spicy you can request that they be made without any spice. For dim sum/appetizers we ordered the scallion pancakes and pork soup dumplings. The scallion pancakes were okay, nothing special about them but the pork soup dumplings were a bit better with a tasty broth inside and nice chewy dumplings. For entrees we got duck fried rice, braised beef noodle soup, beef with broccoli, and dan dan noodles.
The duck fried rice was very good. Many places opt to use day-old rice for fried rice and you can often tell by the texture, but if they do that here then we were fooled because the rice tastes fresh and the duck was perfect. The braised beef noodle soup was also good, not the best we’ve had, but still good with the beef having a nice texture and the broth being rich. The beef with broccoli was great, the beef velvetized and delicious, the broccoli, well, broccoli. Lastly, the dan dan noodles were fantastic. The noodles were cooked perfect, the minced beef very delicious, and the bok choy tasty as well. As it is food wise, Hupo is a standout, particularly in the Western Queens area, the only knock being its service is a bit iffy with the workers being not too warm but for the meal you get, we’re willing to shut up and just eat. A fantastic restaurant all around!“
