They are very popular. Delivery was very delayed but I still like their food. They have own websites and have multiple storefronts. I couldn't find them on the regular food delivery sites. “There are many Chinese food spots in the area and while they are all pretty good, I always come back to this one. The food has always been really good and they have never gotten an order wrong (been a customer for a little under 20 years).

The service has always been AMAZING. They know who we are and have always made a point to get to know people in the community. They held it DOWN during the pandemic. That being said, I do believe the owners have changed but the food and service is still great!“

“This is an old school chinese takeout and small sit down area establishment. I was greeted as soon as I entered the door. I asked for a minute to look over the menu. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce with fried rice. The gentleman took my order and I let him know I was staying. I sat down and waited and ten minutes later he called me to get my food.

The food was really good. The restaurant has a small sit down are with three booths and two three small tables which seat two. The service is good, the food is good and there's not much to the atmosphere but it's safe and comfortable. There's isn't much more one can ask from a small establishment. Plus the cost of the food which came with a drink or egg roll came out to $11 even. I often pay more for a meal. If you're in Jackson Heights stop through if you're looking to take something with you, or sit down eat and keep it moving.“

“Spicy Village was a wonderful place to have a Christmas meal! Actually, I'd like to rename it "Spicy Cozy Village" if a spicy environment can also be cozy! To start with, they were very gracious by accepting a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. Then they came outside and took our order even before we sat down and so the food was nearly ready by the time we had taken our coats off! The festivities kicked off with a plate of crispy peanuts, which ended up being the chosen appetizer, main course, and dessert for the little guy in our party. We then progressed to delicious dumplings, sesame chicken, spicy lamb huimei, and other delectable specialties! What was so amazing about the experience is that despite packing lots of people into a relatively small square foot area, it did not feel claustrophobic at all; rather it was comfortable and cozy, like sitting at a big table for a family meal at your house (even if it was take-out!!). Overall, Spicy Village was a terrific place for Christmas dinner - and I'm strongly considering coming back here for the 8 days of Hanukkah too!“

I came during the afternoon and the place was quiet.
The staff was very friendly and even asked how the meal was at the end.
Note: It’s self-service.

Food: The hand-pulled noodles and broth were fresh and excellent.
The fried side dish was crispy and flavorful.
Drink: The iced black tea with mango was light and very refreshing.
Tip: As you can see in the video - the portions are very generous.
I recommend ordering a small size because I couldn’t finish it.

Seating: I sat by the window facing the street. It was nice to eat and watch Broadway at the same time.
There’s also an inner bar table closer to the kitchen.
The place is clean and the surrounding area feels calm and safe.

Price: Very affordable and filling.
This was my first time trying authentic Chinese food and I was pleasantly surprised.
Highly recommend and worth saving for a real local meal.“

“Have been here a few times, most recently yesterday. The food is excellent (baos, steamed dumplings, fried dumplings) but I think a lot of the folks who come here do so as much for the “novelty” aspect (“we ate at this weird Chinese restaurant in the basement of an abandoned mall”), as for the food! I usually visit Chinatown by taking the B train to Grand Street, & to reach Fu Zhou Wei Zhong Wei Jia Xiang Feng Wei walk east on Grand Street to Forsyth Street & then walk south on Forsyth to Division Street, passing the street/pavement vendors. You enter the building through the side door just after the Forsyth/Division intersection, wonder about the slightly funky smell :), and walk straight ahead to the stairs that take you to the basement, turn right, and right again to reach the place at the end of the hallway. You order at the window at the left. It’s primarily a wholesale business that supples other restaurants but for retail customers the choices are what I mentioned. There is plenty of seating now but I believe a while back seating was limited. It’s very much a down to earth no frills place, it helps to understand this so your overall experience is good. I like the dumplings, either steamed or fried, I am not a huge bao fan. The place is very well known now, thanks to YouTube videos and TikTok posts.“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“By Antidote was an absolute treat! We got the Century Egg w/ Burrata Cheese, Tea-Smoked Duck Fried Rice, Crab Tofu, Crab & Pork Soup Dumplings, Green Peppercorn Fish Stew, Mapo Tofu, and Spicy Cumin Lamb.

The first three were easily my favorite dishes, although I feel like the Crab Tofu could use a bit more flavor. The Green Peppercorn Fish Stew was yum but not amazing in my opinion. The Mapo Tofu and Spicy Cumin Lamb were tasty but definitely way too spicy for me lol.

This spot is a must-go for great Chinese fusion cuisine.“

“Definitely one of the best pineapple pork buns I’ve tried. We really enjoyed these, and I’d come back for them again. One tip though: order online if you can. The line can get really long on a busy day, but the online order lets you bypass the regular line, which makes things so much easier.“

“Got to enjoy the exceptional tasting menu just two days after they opened. The inventiveness at work here is matched by the execution. While the cuisine is much different, the sheer delight of it reminded me of my first time years ago at Charlie Trotter's. We went back the next day just to sit at the bar after a show and enjoy the unusual, and unusually good, wine-based cocktails.

“My God… Chongqing Lao Zao might be the best Chinese hot pot I’ve ever had. And if you’ve seen my other reviews, you know I’ve eaten at A LOT of hot pot places. 😂 This one seriously impressed me.

The entrance is actually pretty small and very easy to miss, but once you walk through that door… WOW. It feels like you just stepped into a Chinese palace. The decorations, the details, the atmosphere—everything is beautiful. Before we even started eating, I was already walking around looking at everything.

Then there’s the service. Next level. The servers were so attentive that they basically wouldn’t let us lift a finger. 😂 Plates cleared, broth checked, food taken care of—they were always there without making us feel rushed. That kind of service really changes the whole experience.

And of course, the hot pot itself was incredible. Rich, authentic flavors and exactly what I want when I’m craving real Chinese hot pot. Great food is one thing, but when you combine it with this atmosphere and this level of service, it becomes an experience.

I review a lot of hot pot restaurants and usually can find at least one thing I would change. This time, I really can’t.

“The restaurant was bustling when I got to the restaurant at 9pm which was a great sign. The place is an upscaled Chinese restaurant but still maintain the casual vibe with great Chinese decor. I got the chilled tofu, chili wonton, and chili crab noodles. The restaurant was gracious enough to also gifted me the snow pea shoots and the mango pudding as a palette cleanser. Chilled tofu was interesting, especially with the crunchy veggies and the creamy sesame-soymilk foam, very light but also flavourful at the same time. The chili wonton was surprising actually spicy which is a welcome surprise. The chili crab noodle was very tasty. The noodle was not overcooked and you can see pieces of crab meat in the dish. The mango pudding was great to end the night with, not too sweet and very refreshing. Overall highly recommended. The price of the dish was what I expected for New York but definitely a sharing portion size since I ended up with lots to take home.“
