Other then that waiter was very pleasant. beautiful place with live music on Fridays. Not cheap. but definitely higher end restaurant in the area.“

“This place has been around since 1801—starting out as a stagecoach stop, later transforming into a Prohibition-era speakeasy, then part brothel, and now a fine dining restaurant. Yet most people whiz past it in their cars, unaware that this unassuming old tavern serves some of the best cocktails and cuisine in the Hudson Valley.

“OMG it was my first time & definitely not the last!I had the pulled pork it was awesome, a nice amount of delicious pork and barbecue sauce which was great, it came with two sides i picked the whipped sweet potatoes with candied walnuts,all i have to say is WOW and, i mean WOW!!!the other side was broccoli and cheese the broccoli was done perfect and had the right amount of cheese!we had a yummy dessert that i can't remember the name but it had crushed cookies on the bottom and like a cheese cake &whipped cream 😋 yes!i had to ask for left over containers and i was still full at dinner time!we had lunch at 11:30.So Billy Joe's keep up the great work and thank you!“

“7 of us popped in on a Thursday evening without a reservation. We were kindly greeted and promptly seated. We each enjoyed our meals and appetizers - delicious food, large portions. I opted for the half portion of Chicken Sandoval. The half portion was plenty and the dish was tasty! A great spot to eat in the Village and even re-connect with with an "old" friend.“

We have been to 4 cities in America over a three week period including New York and DC celebrity chef restaurants and hands down this was the best dining experience we have had during our holiday. We sat at the chef’s counter and highly recommend it - the chefs were generous with their time and it really was dinner theatre watching them prepare the incredible food. We do not get this opportunity to get up close and personal so with chefs in our own country (Australia) during a service - 5 stars for sure!“

“My first time. While the decor was standard Irish pub bar-sign-style, the food was elevated. I had a delicious, healthy, seared tuna Cobb Salad and a great cocktail. The staffers never left us wanting and were attentive and personable. Can't wait to go back!“

“First time here. Great spot to chill out. They had a live DJ (DJ Big Will) who was spinning some great songs for the evening. The food was good (had some cheeseburger sliders and fries) the bartender was great. I'm not a big drinker, but they had these hard ciders that were very good. Definitely a nice spot I can see coming back to.“

“It's so nice to be able to walk 5 minutes from my house and get such a great breakfast. I always order 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and they come out fast on fresh hard rolls with delicious crispy bacon. It's better and much cheaper than that other popular deli in poughkeepsie. Oh yeah!“

“I can’t say enough amazing things about the girls at the Dutchess Diner — Meghan, Cristie, Annie, and Julie & korrine are truly the heart of the place! Manny is also fantastic only male I like at this location ! Jose, he is a younger bus boy but he is so kind and attentive — will go out of his way from what he is doing to help the best he can. Every visit feels like catching up with friends who genuinely care. They’re always smiling, quick with a laugh, and somehow manage to make everyone feel like family no matter how busy it gets. The service is always top-notch — friendly, fast, and full of good energy. Whether it’s your morning coffee or a late-night meal, they go above and beyond every single time. Dutchess Diner just wouldn’t be the same without them! 💖 HUGE thank you to Greg in the kitchen too — always fantastic food !“

Breakfast was excellent with fresh avocado, maduro plantains, huevos rancheros and other sides and it really was enough for the day. Looking forward to getting back up to Broadway again.“

“I know things have to change...but seeing how the place was virtually stripped of all its character from the days of Steve's ownership just broke my old New Paltzian townie heart. I was glad to see old favorites on the menu and maybe some new ones...it wasn't really the same though. I was sad not to see the wooden booths where one *thought* private conversations could be had and the old wooden bar that had so many great moments of community shared. And the local art work too...gone. Not sure if I will return...I'll have to hold onto my memories, though perhaps I will convince my home grrrllzz to go and make new ones with me when I come to town. I am grateful that the name hasn't changed-it was hard enough when it changed from The Gay Nineties Bistro to just *The Bistro*. I am also glad there are menu items on there I know and love. I wish the owners good luck and longevity. It's really an institution and I'd hate to see it fall to ruin like so many of my cherished places of the past.“
