“For my daughter's sweet 16, she insisted on a specific cake in a specific color and size. NYC Birthday Cakes made her dream come true! The order process was extremely easy and I was able to provide a swatch so that they could match the color as best as possible. (color matching fondant is not easy - I've made cakes myself but didn't have the time now) We only had 40 people and 4 layers (6:, 8", 10" & 12") would have been too much cake. So, they made the top layer and bottom layer with a cake form instead of cake. The two middle layers were red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the vanilla with chocolate mousse. They were absolutely delicious!! The cake was delivered to the venue on time and as promised. These are truly professionals and I strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a special cake! (FYI - we bought the topper on our own)“

“My wife and I went to Panepinto Bakery today at around 9AM. One of few places open for holidays around Middle Village. We got Coffee, Bagels and a Sandwich. Exceptional service, employees consistently checked on our table which had made our breakfast enjoyable. So many delicious pastries to choose from. Definitely will be coming back.“

“Marie is the absolute best. I asked her to make a cake for my birthday and my guests and myself have been talking about it ever since! I called Marie to tell her my vision and she helped me through it and made it even better, she's so kind and so open to collaborating. And not only that the flavor was INSANELY DELICIOUS. I am normally not a big cake person but it was the perfect balance of moist and creamy, the way I told her how I wanted it to be. I asked for vanilla frosting with chocolate inside, and a layer of praline cream. Highly recommend ordering from Marie for any occasion. I definitely will be doing that again soon.“

“Beautiful display - but the cake does not taste anything special. Olive oil cake was unique in the sense that you won’t find it in most other bakeries. Also very pricey - I believe the signature cake was $18.

“Maria’s Sans Rival cake lives up to the meaning of its name, undoubtedly unrivaled. It was made of sheets of chewy meringue loaded with crunchy cashew nuts, alternating with thick layers of “melt-in-your mouth” buttercream. Glad it was not too sweet that I was able to enjoy large servings of this delightful dessert. Great with coffee or tea.“

The fact that Carrie was answering me while the business is close is a sign that she’s passionate and that she care about her client. “The gelato here tastes AMAZING! The staff is really nice, and you can sample flavors. I ordered the super big size which isn’t big to me with the raspberry cheesecake, Reese’s, and deep chocolate gelatos. They were all delicious, but the deep chocolate was by far the best! The deep chocolate gelato was the best chocolate gelato I’ve ever had thus far! Potions are very small so I recommend ordering the largest size. I highly recommend Chillato in Whitestone!“

The tres leches is not too sweet, and the frosting complements the cake as well. It’s overall a very well rounded cake.

Tangy Raspberry preserves made from scratch by Jaclyn as well between the layers. I ordered my daughter’s 8th birthday cake ( a Calico critters theme)from this bakery and the whole experience was very stress free. I love how they made it feels like I hired a personal baker. They communication and attention to every details exceeded my expectations for a small bakery. My daughter was very happy, not only with the design of the cake but also the taste. She is a very picky eater! Our cake was all chocolate with a chocolate ganache filling and you can just taste the richness and know that it is made with good ingredients. “What a neighborhood gem!! Walked in on a Sunday morning and had a delightful conversation with Chef Daniel. Ordered a delicious egg sandwich on a flaky, buttery, sinfully good biscuit, plus a few other items including the dark chocolate vegan sorbet, a chocolate chip cookie and blueberry citrus donut. Do not sleep on the seasonal donuts ... the blueberry was incredible! And do not let the vegan in the sorbet fool you - as a chocolate lover, it was rich, decadent, everything you want and more.

I've lived in the neighborhood for a decade and didn't realize Sugar Butter Chocolate offered retail service. I wish I had known a lot sooner because everything was so, so good.
