“This will become your go to place for BBQ! Highly recommend. We had some amazing food. Pastrami is my go to and I have had it at over 50 places this was a favorite. Everything is homemade and you can tell the chef is passionate!! All sauces served on the side so you can choose your own sauce adventure. I never thought I would be equally as excited about ketchup as I was the fries but here we are. It was so laid back and there was no pressure! This place has very knowledgeable staff. I can’t wait to go back and eat again.“

“I recently stopped by Hudson Smokehouse in the Bronx and ordered the brisket, turkey, mac & cheese, and baked beans.

The brisket was the standout: tender, properly smoked, and sliced thick enough to hold its structure without drying out. It had a deep, smoky flavor without being overpowered by sauce. The smoked turkey was equally impressive—juicy, well-seasoned, and a great lighter counterpoint to the brisket.

On the sides, the mac & cheese was rich and comforting with a solid balance of creaminess and bite, while the baked beans had good depth—slightly sweet, slightly savory, and clearly simmered with care rather than treated as an afterthought.

Service was friendly and efficient, and the overall atmosphere felt casual and unpretentious—exactly what you want when the focus is on the food. If you’re looking for reliable, well-executed barbecue in the Bronx, Hudson Smokehouse is absolutely worth a visit.“

“Food is really good. I had the burnt ends app and catfish at the restaurant and I took home ribs brisket pulled short rib home. Had the collard greens and string beans as a side. Nothing disappointed. Everything was good. Waiter was good and very helpful in recommending items. Drinks were good. Wish this place was closer to my house.“

The service was great all the staff was super nice (our waiter Joseph was super kind!) the power went out due to a snow storm mid meal & we still felt well taken care of (plenty of candles and servers around). “I’m something of a BBQ critic having grown up in the South and lived there for 40 or so years and I’ve had some bad pork experiences in NYC. So much so that I’ve told my friends, “NYC does every type of cuisine well EXCEPT BBQ” I respectfully retract that statement after having AU Jus’ SUPERB pulled pork sandwich this evening. I’m going to have to join a 12 step program to stop myself from eating it every day. So good it’ll make your tongue slap your brains out.“

“I am great fan of this place. My family and I order food from here when we feel like having some pull pork, briskets or ribs. I normally order the ribs and chicken combo which comes with two sides. The ribs are flavorful. I also like their pull pork sandwich .I occasionally order their beef chili. The owner Bruno and staff Santos and Carlos are very friendly and nice! I will definitely recommend this place if you crave for some barbeque and you are in the Edgewater area.“

“Went there today for the first time with my wife, I had the 10 West burger, so delicious, cooked perfectly and the burger was huge, just the right number of toppings and the bacon jam hit it out of the park. The sweet potato fries were excellent and enough for two people. The chips that come with the burger were also good. My wife had the regular burger with no cheese and an order of regular fries. She really enjoyed it and said it was cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly, the owner, Mel, greeted us, took our order and chatted with us while our order was being prepared. We were given a little disc that lit up and vibrated when the order was ready to be picked up at the counter. One of the best burgers around! A little pricy, but definitely worth it! We'll be going back for another delicious mouthwatering experience!“

“I've driven by this place a billion times and never once gave it a second thought. I'm also not a food truck kinda guy but wow did I just find a new spot to frequent.

Prices are so reasonable considering today's absurdity and the food is great. I had the brisket and pulled pork sandwiches, both tasted great. My foodie fiance loved it as well and she's a tough crowd.

“After not coming for a long while because of our experience… I am so happy we decided to come back! Damien was our waiter and he was PHENOMENAL!! The last time we came the service was not great, Damien completely changed how we feel about Kpot Englewood. He was very attentive, changed the grill every time it even appeared dirty, refilled waters regularly and checked on us numerous times. He had lots of tables but made us feel like we were the only ones he was taking care of! Food was great!“

From the welcoming hosts at the front desk, to our AMAZING server Amani, and the manager Arod coming to greet us and ensure our experience was good, we felt so welcomed and taken care of. “I've come here a few times with some friends to get a quick meal and it has never disappointed. The food is extremely reasonably priced and the quality is excellent for the cost, with a large plate of nachos only being 14 dollars and a full cheese pizza being only slightly more. If you come here with a large group and order shareable items the price is easily below 10 dollars per person. The service is very fast and the eating area is very pleasant and open.“

To the people reviewing it's loud, and they are rude etc. let me tell you, EVERY SINGLE DAY THIS PLACE IS FULL, ALL HOURS. The food is delicious, cheap and FAST. I come here once a week for two years, they ARENT NICE. I CANT BLAME THEM! they are a small business with the same employees working day in and out, lines out the door. Get your amazing food, pay, and leave. Have you ever seen the soup episode in Seinfeld. I only go once a week, but about 5 time each week I look through the door, to see if it's packed. Usually it is so I move on cuz I ate crowds. (When I say packed I mean it because there is not seating, it's just an order counter and pay counter inside.). I indulge once a week when I'm lucky enough to see a line 2 deep or less. Here is my problem. My first time in there, rookie, I wanted to try a burrito. But they are so busy and it's they have a lot of food in hot pans to make plates. But the burrito they grill the raw chicken right in front of you, and I couldn't help but feel like I hold up lines. I will tell you though, when that thing comes through, hot, fresh and mounded high with chicken for 7 bucks! I was floored. Cheaper than a garbage taco bell burrito for 8.69 half the size and less than half as good. I was hooked. But today, I grabbed one of their rotisserie chickens from the oven in the window. I am not telling y'all any lies. Best. I . Have. Ever . Had. Now I love fired chicken, breading is great yada yada. But never had a roast chicken this good. Only one pointer, they default give you a garlic sauce, either it doesn't need it or ask for something you spicy if you like a little kick, cuz this sauce is pointless. So no, you can't sit down and eat. Not it's not quiet, no they don't have time to be friendly. If you want TASTE for VALUE then you know what to do.“
