This is a spot i frequent when i am hungry and don't want to spend an arm and a leg the food is pretty good even though i usually jus get the rice and peas with jerk chicken. This spot has been in Mt. Vernon for quite some time so when in the area stop in and give it a try.
The two gentlemen in there have to be 2 of the best chefs on the east coast period! No exaggeration. They give service with a smile and make each customer feel welcome. Now for the food...The chicken soup is the best you will ever have in your life! But you'd better order before 1:30 pm because it's usually sold out! The lunch line is practically out the door every day and with good reason. The jerk chicken is mouth watering and their rice and peas is so good you can eat it alone!...read full review

They give you a lot of food/ meat for your money. Not a lot on the menu, the food is not that bad tasting. Other Caribbean restaurants the food taste better, but they load your food with side order and give you less meat.
