“Maria’s Sans Rival cake lives up to the meaning of its name, undoubtedly unrivaled. It was made of sheets of chewy meringue loaded with crunchy cashew nuts, alternating with thick layers of “melt-in-your mouth” buttercream. Glad it was not too sweet that I was able to enjoy large servings of this delightful dessert. Great with coffee or tea.“

Working with Alison to schedule and have our tasting, which was just down right fun...(because of COVID we had to take our samples home... and she loaded us up with some extras to share with friends) to showing her our vision for the cake on the day of, and then actually SEEING and EATING it at our wedding was perfect all the way through. They really incorporated everything we asked for, and it was simply delicious!!! (There goes my diet) I ran across Layers from Uber Eats and googled the store to read the reviews which were great but I saw some bad reviews about the cakes being stale and not fresh. My cravings got the best of me and I ordered despite some bad reviews. Man oh man was I happy I did. The brownie was delicious and moist. I hate hard dry brownies this place did not disappoint. “This bakery used to have another location in downtown flushing. I tried their cake before and liked it. So it decided to order a custom cake and cupcake from them.

The owner/baker was very easy to communicate with via text. She explained all the details to me, even suggested to go light on the color of the cake, too much food coloring is not good for children. This is something I have not thought of as a mother ! And I appreciate her reminding me of this !!

On the day of the pick up, I was a bit worry about how the cake would turn out. The cake turned out great !! and it tastes great too !! Several of our guests at the party ask for the bakery and they want to order cakes for their own birthday !!

“I had a last minute request for my daughter's 8th birthday. Allison @ Sweet Peace was more than accommodating. Her customer service on the phone made me feel as I though I was a long time family friend. Impeccable customer service! The cake I ordered and the one my daughter ordered for my birthday was as awesome as the impeccable customer service Sweet Peace exhibited. I told Allison she is my family's pastry shop for life!“

“They have a very generous portion of what we ordered of eggs and potatoes. Sometimes the place is packed. The area is quite small. Take out is better. And if it's not peak hours, dining in is okay too. Peak hours, don't expect to get a seat. Bagels and coffee are good.

Vegetarian options: They have a good selection for bagels and they serve toast and eggs and some vegetables.

Parking: Not a lot but people come and go and there's a good chance to get a spot.“

“It's so beneficial that this location is now always open until 1am. They are always kind to me when I visit this establishment. The vibes are always on point, just like the music;). The ice cream is always stacked high and even if the ice cream is low they will get it from the back with no issues. She uses light fluffy cream instead of fondant (THANK GOODNESS)... Definitely recommend if you're looking for a display cake that's moist/delicious.“

I couldn’t finish mine it was so big!
