“Today I went to The Clubhouse for the first time. It was a beautiful day so I wanted to go to a restaurant where we could dine outdoors. My spouse, son, and I had four out of four wonderful entrees for brunch and amazing service from Jamie. Jamie was very helpful with the menu choices and her service was impeccable. We enjoyed the food, service, and ambience so much. I highly recommend The Clubhouse and a game of mini golf as well. Thanks a million Jamie!!“

“This is a great spot to get some delicious wings and cold beers! Watch sports, talk to new people, catch a live band! Make sure you go on Saturday night to see James behind the bar! He's not just great for beers and conversation, He can make any cocktail you want! (Low key date night with ALL the sports??) James (Jimmy) will soon become a familiar friend. “One of the best bars in Nassau. Great friendly staff, they make you feel like one of the crew quickly. Great drinks with a wide selection of Beam. As far as the food goes, there is not better place to get wings in the county. Wide range of heat and flavors, always made to perfection. Then of course there is the pizza that will beat most pizzerias round. They almost have a restaurant menu in a bar. There is not better place to watch any sports from horse racing to football and everything in between. The place has a lot of modern TVs so getting the game you want is pretty easy (just ask). Yes they do have WiFi as well. Highly recommend this bar.“

“I have been a customer of Austin’s Ale House for many years, I know them well they know me well. This year I decided to give the excellent and highly favored family cooking team a break and had Austin’s Ale House cater our Christmas Dinner. I went with the ham dinner for 10 to feed 7 people🤣. The ordering was done with ease and so was the pick up. The family did a preliminary tasting...... LOVED .IT and whatever we have left after the “taste test” will have to serve as our Christmas Dinner. Since the taste test was so aggressive we may need to supplement what’s left with a few cheese omelets 🤣. We enjoyed it so much there was much talk about it becoming the new family tradition. “Place has a very local dive feel. Came across this place in search for good wing spots in Nassau, a journey I've been at for a while now. Price for the quantity and quality was very fair ($15 for 10 wings.) These were some of the best wings I've had in a long time after many places tried. The bartender told us we'd like them and he was not wrong. Spicy BBQ were really good and not overpoweringly BBQ flavor. Wings were a nice size and delicious. Seating is limited but the place is a small storefront and the Knicks playoff game was on. Will definitely come back here!“

“The Snug and City Island Diner are true local treasures. They’re owned by the same wonderful people and share a kitchen, but each has its own vibe and hours — and together they’re unbeatable.

The fully loaded chili here is hands-down the best I’ve ever had. It’s rich, hearty, perfectly seasoned, and also shows up in their nachos, which makes them next-level comfort food.

One of my favorite things? They have a secret menu (no longer advertised) with specialty grilled cheese sandwiches and specialty hot dogs — and we absolutely love it. The Tuscan Melt (no onion) is perfection, and the Reuben Dog is unforgettable. With the hot dogs you get two, and you can mix and match styles, which is such a fun and generous touch.

At The Snug, my go-to drink is a black & tan, which pairs perfectly with the cozy, neighborhood pub feel. Over at the diner, my favorite dish is the Corned Beef Hash breakfast — classic, satisfying, and done exactly right.

Beyond the food, what really sets these places apart is the people. Every server is genuinely kind, welcoming, and deeply plugged into the City Island community. You feel like a regular even on your first visit.

Food options. And, it is always good to provide the menu right away when guests arrive. Not everyone is visiting just for a beer. Some prefer an experience.“

“I took a random day trip on my day off. Wanted to go to another spot but they were charging to park so I wound up here. The guy outside helped me find parking, the hosts greeted me with a warm welcome and Jack behind the bar was excellent. He really took care of me.
Such a nice location. Right on the water. You can dock your boat until 6p I believe. They were playing the World Cup games but have plenty of TVs for other games as well. Indoor outdoor bar. Plenty of shade and tables in the sun as well. I would definitely travel from BK to come back here but especially for Jack. Best bartender ever!!“
