Akura Sushi Reviews
The sashimi appetizer was amazing. Huge fan of the salmon. And the sushi deluxe was delicious! Super fast service too, on a Wednesday night. Would definitely come back.
We were all full! I had the teriyaki steak with broccoli and a salad. The steak was juicy and very tender. Delicious. The side dishes fried calamari and steamed broccoli were also delicious. The others got sushi rolls. One stood out (I don't eat sushi) as special, the angel roll. They loved it over the others.
Highly recommended for very good quality dishes.
Fresh Sushi & Great Value Lunch Specials!
Came here for a late lunch with my daughter and had a lovely time.
The Food: We tried their lunch sets which include a variety of sushi and rolls. The fish was surprisingly fresh and high quality for the price. It’s very reasonably priced for NYC!
The Atmosphere: Since it was a weekday afternoon, the place was quiet and we could relax and chat. The interior has a nice vibe and is kept clean.

Akura Sushi offers a wide variety of Japanese dishes, with a focus on freshness. The service is fast and attentive, with wheelchair accessibility available. The menu includes options like chicken teriyaki with white rice and salad, as well as sushi rolls like the California roll. The lunch specials offer a full plate of small sushi rolls, including options like shrimp tempura and lobster roll.
The restaurant has recently upgraded its nigiri sushi options to include different toppings, similar to an omakase-style experience. Customers praise the fantastic flavor, reasonable prices, and beautiful wooden party tray presentation. The sushi and Japanese quick bites, such as bento boxes and sushi roll combos, are highly recommended, with the salmon teriyaki lunch special being a popular choice. The service is consistently quick, and the food is fully cooked. Overall, Akura Sushi is a great "neighborhood" sushi spot that has stepped up its game with new and creative rolls, using very fresh fish.
