Bōm, a hidden gem tucked behind Oiji Mi, offers an extraordinary dining experience that seamlessly blends Korean and French culinary elements. The restaurant's tasting menu showcases the team's exceptional skill, delivering a delicate balance of flavors and textures that leave a lasting impression. The portions are consistently large, making it a great social hub with a relaxed feel. The space is cozy and modern, with an ambiance similar to a speakeasy, and the staff are friendly and attentive.
The meal begins with a captivating starter plate, featuring a crispy seaweed tartare bite, two caviar-esque tartlets, and a marinated sashimi component. This introductory course sets the tone for the evening, hinting at the restaurant's mastery of seafood and French-inspired dishes. The food is full of rich, bold flavors and cooked perfectly — every dish feels fresh and thoughtful, with beautiful presentation that is not fussy.
The highlight of the meal arrives with the beef courses. Two pieces of tender, salty, and briny beef are served, one topped with sea urchin roe and the other with caviar. The subsequent rice bowl, featuring ikura, gamtae seaweed, and marinated beef, is a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The service and wine pairing elevate the experience, providing the best service seen at a Michelin Star restaurant and surpassing expectations.
The culinary journey reaches new heights with the dessert offerings, proving to be equally impressive as the savory courses. The meal culminates in a celebratory and luxurious dining experience that balances refinement and indulgence.
