“Stopped into 787 Coffee Co. and tried their Coquito Latte with rum-infused beans—absolutely incredible. I also grabbed a quesito, which was perfectly flaky and sweet, the ideal pairing with the coffee. The vibe in the shop was warm and inviting. As a puerto rican I felt like it was a home away from home 🇵🇷“

“Great spot for a cozy pre theater dinner. It’s the entire brownstone so there’s more seating upstairs. Made reservations for 5:30 and the food came quickly and was delicious. José, was our amazing server, took care of us and made great recommendations. Lamb croquettes and skirt steaks were our favorites. We even had time for José favorite dessert which was the dark cheesecake with dulce de leche..mmm, worth it.“

“El Coco – Hell’s Kitchen
📍 Review by @justinmateonyc
If you're looking for a vibrant, flavor-packed escape in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, El Coco absolutely delivers—starting with the CHIPS AND GUACAMOLE. Served with housemade chips that are perfectly crisp with just the right touch of salt, this starter sets the tone for everything to come. The guac is creamy, fresh, and full of limey zing, a classic done right.
Now let’s talk AL PASTOR—marinated pork with sweet pineapple that hits that perfect balance of savory and juicy. But the real surprise? That pineapple chutney. It’s next level. Sweet, tangy, and a little spicy—it brought the whole dish together in the best way.
I went with the cheeseburger empanadas (yes, you read that right), and they were unreal—crispy on the outside, ooey-gooey savory on the inside. My fiancée had the jalapeño empanadas and shrimp & crab meat camarones tacos, both of which were fresh, flavorful, and had that signature El Coco twist: bold, layered flavor and beautifully presented.
The vibe here is unmatched—El Coco is popped out in pink, fun, and full of personality. It’s got that Instagram-ready aesthetic but without sacrificing authenticity or comfort. The energy in the room is as vibrant as the food.
Shoutout to Denise, our server, who was warm, welcoming, and super attentive—made us feel right at home.
As a food photographer and content creator, El Coco is exactly the kind of place I love discovering. The colors, the plating, the ambiance—all photogenic and all delicious. Definitely a spot that makes my food trips across NYC worth it.

“I was in the Penn Station area today and had a craving for fried chicken. Initially, I was thinking about going to a certain Filipino fried chicken chain, but after checking the ratings, Pollo Camino came out on top. They’ve recently opened a new branch near Penn Station, but I ended up visiting their 8th Ave location instead — a small, single-storefront shop with a simple interior.
I ordered the fried chicken set for $9.99, which came with two pieces of chicken, a piece of bread, one side, and a drink for an extra $1.
• Drink: I went with their Horchata, made with peanuts and vanilla ,milk, without the cinnamon and rice I’m used to. It had a nice aroma, refreshing, and a bit different — in a good way.
• Side: I chose yuca fries, served in large sticks. The inside was dense than potato, with a lightly crisp exterior. Personally, I wasn’t a fan — I’d say skip this and go for another side.
• Fried Chicken: Lightly battered with a noticeable blend of spices and herbs. The meat was tender, while the skin wasn’t the super-crispy kind you’d get from those well-known Louisiana or Kentucky-style chains. Flavor was solid, but here’s an important tip — just like with many fried chicken places, don’t let it sit too long. Once it cools, the saltiness becomes much more pronounced.
Service gets a full 5 stars in the fast-food category — no self-service pick-up here, they bring your food right to the table.
Overall, Pollo Camino is worth trying if you’re around Penn Station. The price is fair, the chicken is flavorful, but choose your side wisely and eat it while it’s hot. Next time I’ll try a competitor for comparison, but for now, my top spot still belongs to Louisiana chain.“

The portions were stunning, the food was full of flavor, the menu is large, and the dessert empanadas are just as amazing as the savory ones! “Imarol & Evelyn,
There’s two are the perfect duo when it comes to running a restaurant. Not only did the drinks give a great vibe but the food & music were a vibe too. Growing up in the city seems tough but when you visit places like this life seems a lot more simpler. Thank you el coco for wonderful staff and a great time!“

“The food was quite good, with rich, hearty dishes that were satisfying overall. However, I would suggest expanding the selection of seltzers and sparkling water, especially considering how heavy the food can be — a crisp, refreshing beverage option would be a great complement.
It would also be nice to see some classic sides like potato salad or macaroni salad offered. They’d pair well with the mains and add a touch of comfort-food nostalgia.
The service was very good — the staff was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant dining experience.
The atmosphere was fair, though I found the music (mostly reggaeton and trap) a bit loud and one-dimensional. Switching up the playlist to include a broader mix of genres could help create a more balanced vibe, especially in a diverse neighborhood like Hell’s Kitchen.
Overall, it was a good experience with solid food and welcoming service, with just a few tweaks that could elevate it even further.
Thank you.“

“A hidden gem nestled in the heart of Sutton Place, 787 Coffee curates an exceptional coffee and pastry experience. Their infused coffee beans make for a unique treat each time. The attention to detail here is gratefully refreshing in a city where most coffee enterprises sell mass-produced goods. 787 offers a much needed pleasant respite.“

“The rum infused espresso is to die for… Even as a coffee enthusiast this is not something I’d seen before but it definitely made for a cool experience and made it feel like more than just your typical cafe.
Never been to a coffee shop where the staff are so friendly, genuinely left a bit shocked after having been asked to have our photo taken for the instagram!
We had a couple of the chicken empanadas too and would highly recommend!“

“I was passing through the avenue and suddenly I saw this place, which caught my attention, since I am Argentine and I saw that they sold empanadas. The truth is that the girl's attention was excellent, the empanadas not only reminded me of Argentina, but they were very well made with local and international products. They sell yerba mate from brands such as La Merced, Taragüí and mañanita. The truth is that I highly recommend it, it is a great experience, the prices are around $15/$20 and everything goes with a combo and sodas. Very, very good place!!“

“Had a classic cold latte (Rum flavored with whole milk) & a hot Americano (whiskey flavored).
Both were great. Cold latte packed a punch in its flavor that was detectable even through the milk, and Americano had great fragrance that slowly showed its flavor as I quickly sip down the burning liquid.“

“Should have left my review sooner. I've eaten argentine food all over NYC and this place is currently my favorite. The meat is always the main point of focus, so I'll be very honest: I run to this place every time I am in the area. Small, unassuming, but the food is better than bigger Argentine places in NYC. Highly recommend the food. Worth it 100%“

“This is the best smoothie place hands down. You need to get your smoothie done by a girl, not a guy. Preferably the chunky girl. They make it perfect. Not too liquidated, just perfect frothy texture. Anytime I cheat on this place I’m like why did I do it? And they make the beeestttt empanadas. Not too oily , just perfectly cooked. I love this place. And thank god I don’t live near because I would easily weigh 600 pounds.“

“My favorite hands down are the empanadas chicken or beef. They are delicious. And the green sauce remains acSophie's standard. I can't leave without getting a couple of them. I find the main course food selection tends to differ a bit from different Sophie's I have visited in the past but their cuchifritos (appetizer items) I have no complaints..“
