Famous Sichuan (川外川) is a must-visit for authentic Sichuan cuisine in Chinatown. The food was super good and flavorful, with excellent service. The Braised Fish Filet w. Sichuan Chili Sauce is the best in New York. The mapo tofu, boiled fish, and Chongqing spicy chicken are insanely flavorful and authentic—super spicy, super delicious, with great portions for the price. The 'Boiled Fish in Chili Oil' (水煮鱼) is incredibly tender, and the 'Laziji' (辣子鸡) is crispy and fragrant. The service was really friendly, attentive, and warm; they even gave a complimentary dish. The food came out really quickly. A must-visit for real Sichuan cuisine. If you like spicy, be sure to ask for extra.
