I wish I can return to this store more. I had a dinner at Manhatta before and the restaurant introduced that their sour dough is from Frenchette - which turned out to be the only food I consider above average during that experience. When visiting Whitney this year I finally come to this Frenchette spot and tried the other french bakery like Canele and cakes. Of course they met my expectations. Really appreciate the environment and food quality, and the staff is very hosting.
Service:4/5
Wow factor: 3/5
Tourist trap: 4/5
Would comeback: Yes
Note: Great coffee and baked goods
Cozy place to get recharged before going into the Whitney Museum.
Pastry is good (very sweet according to Asian standards).

Frenchette Bakery at the Whitney offers exceptional food and pastries. Their Paris-brest with pistachio cream is a must-try, and their sandwiches are made with the best bread. The menu is simple, but the dishes, including the chicken liver mousse, black turnip soup, seasonal bucatelli with sungold tomatoes, and gnocchi Arrabiata, are expertly prepared and delicious.
The bakery and cafe, owned by chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson, serves viennoiserie, individual pastries, baguettes, sandwiches, and coffee. Customers can also enjoy a meal at the cafe, with options like duck confit, rotisserie chicken, and onion flatbread. This is the second location of this fine bakery.
Customers have described the food as delicious, with standout items like the cauliflower, dandelion salad, and gnocchi. The bread is highly praised, and the French Hot Chocolate is noted as incredible. While the prices can be a bit high, with lunch main dishes often costing around $25 to $30, the overall dining experience is fantastic, especially for vegetarians and pescatarians who find ample options. The atmosphere is lovely, filled with natural light, and the service from the host to the staff is friendly and attentive.
